Jerrie Barber brings years of experience together in a series of brief, readable chapters that deal with various aspects of church work. This book will challenge readers to take a closer look at their place in the dynamics of church life. Although the book focuses on interim ministry, elders, preachers, and "everyday Christians" will all benefit from reading it.

Long-time Church of Christ preacher Jerrie Barber bass written a comprehensive book to assist churches and preachers prepare for the time between the departure of a preacher and the hiring of his successor. As an interim preacher, Barber relates the good and bad moves that can be made during the interim period, and how it can positively and negatively affect everyone in the church. One solution is to hire an interim preacher, enabling the church leadership to take measures to ensure the permanent replacement is a good fit rather than rushing to fill the vacancy. Barber's book offers ideas that may be useful for businesses and organizations needing suggestions in managers, supervisors, and others for important positions.
