See my full review here. Are you like me, dreaming of camping by a lake under the stars, firelight casting ghostly shadows? Well, if not yet, this will get you shivering with anticipation, lol! Canadian ghost stories, perfect for storytelling, reading aloud, or just enjoying by yourself, and perhaps an eerie companion... A delightful compilation, each story just a few pages long, of everything from familiar urban legends and new-to-you tales of indigenous folklore to tragic shipwrecks and classic ghost stories. these tales are perfectly appropriate for teens, with a few suitable for sturdy-hearted younger ones who love being scared while safely wrapped in a blanket. You'll find a copy in the young adult collection at the Grand Forks & District Public Library.
I found every story in this book to be very predictable. It was quite easy to spot what the twist or scary bit would be within the first couple of paragraphs. Perhaps this book would be better enjoyed if the stories were told aloud (as I read it directly from the book) with a spookier atmosphere.
