Asta and Yuno grew up together, abandoned at the same church. They both determined to become Magic Knights... Yuno's abilities soon grew to genius levels of power and control while Asta didn't show even a spark of magic and made up for it by training hard physically. It became apparent to both when they received their grimores, Yuno a coveted 4-leaf clover and Asta an unheard of black 5-leaf clover, that they were each other's biggest competition when it came to achieving their goals of becoming the next sorcerer emperor.

The reincarnated elves storyline continues as various magic knights attack the king and the royal houses. The great Silva house is attacked and Noelle and Nozel figure prominently in the defense of their siblings. I really loved seeing Noelle showing off all she’s learned in the Black Bulls. We also get front and center with a magic knight captain, Jack the Ripper, who joins Yami in battling the king’s attackers. Finral steals the climax though in a way that made my heart melt for him.

I did feel like some of the battles were introduced and then ended before we got to see more. It made them feel disjointed, choppy and the whole storyline went too fast. Not that I need to linger on this part of the story, the elves have a particular goal they are working toward and these battles are clearly the way the mangaka chose to make them clear to us.

I admit that Asta is the star of Black Clover for me so concentrating so long on others isn’t as fun for me. But it was neat to see Noelle and Finral make headway with their royal families? And Asta did make a spectacular entrance at the end of Black Clover vol 19. You’ll want to pick this up for the character growth.

Por fin puedo decir que me encanta Noelle (aunque no soporte que le guste Asta). Su nuevo poder, su relación con sus hermanos, todo fantástico pero que desarrollado en más capítulos no habría estado mal.

Por otra parte, Langris y Finral son mi debilidad. Solo tengo buenas palabras para ellos.
Yami y Jack me han parecido epiquísimos, igual que la entrada de los Toros Negros.

Añado que los elfos, en especial la copia de Licth, son unos pesados.

I apologise for murdering Nozel's name 🤡 Anyway, I really enjoyed this volume, I get to see Noelle's upgrade once again here, which is SO FREAKING AWESOME AND BEAUTIFUL. I remember being so amazed while watching this on the anime version.

I also enjoyed Zora's clowning on the nobles he's such a fun character, to be honest.

I feel like my emotions are going to be my undoing because they're constantly bouncing between "yay, my characters got great development and are total badasses!" and "HOLY FUCKING SHIT, I HATE THESE ELVES, THEY ARE TERRIBLE VILLAINS!"

Seriously, I love the characters in this series, and my wish for Noelle was granted ten times over in this volume. Seeing her team up with Nozel and also Nozel apologizing to her is probably my top moment of this series. I am so proud of her growth and development and she is easily my favorite character in this series.

But then you have the other side of this, where I have to trudge through the most repetitive and boring dialogue from the most uninteresting villains, the elves. No joke, 98% of their dialogue is variations of "you humans should die," "you're a disgusting group of people," "you're all weak and worthy of death". That fight between Nozel, Noelle, and the Compass Magic elf? Would have been 100 times more interesting if the elf lady didn't SAY THE SAME FUCKING THINGS THE ENTIRE FIGHT!!! At one point while sloughing through more atrocious dialogue, I finally snapped and thought, "holy shit, I want to go and read My Hero Academia because at least Horikoshi knows how to write villains with more than one personality trait!" That's one of the biggest issues, honestly; the elves are so one-dimensional and their dialogue and mannerisms match it. All they feel is hatred and anger, no other emotions and their personalities are practically identical. Holy FUCK, I hate them so much.

But enough ranting, this was an excellent volume purely for incredible Noelle growth and development and Finral's growth and development as well. And of course Yami, we can't forget Yami. But for real, if Tabata doesn't do something about these elves soon I'm going to lose my shit.

Damn. I was waiting for this moment ever since Noelle was compared to her mother and ever since she showed up and we found out that her siblings resent her. This volume by its cover shows that it will be great. And the moment, where Noelle fights with her brother and supports her family is pretty good.

Yet this whole book is so boring. Fights do happen, but they do not mean anything. It is one bad elf and then more bad elves. It is cool to watch Yami fight, it is cool to watch other characters have their spotlight. But the lack of substance or any sort of personality of the villains is ruining it. The design of the elves is the same, they look very similar and boring with just some different facial tattoos. And this drags everything down. There are no stakes and yes, our Wizard King is dead but if that is going to be the only casualty, then it is pretty meh.

Another problem of mine is that elves say that they have to kill all humans, but aren't there other kingdoms? This should be a world wide scale and yet it is happening here in one sandbox.

I'm so proud of Noelle and how far she'd come. Also, I admire her for being the bigger person and still protecting her siblings without any second thoughts even though they have always treated her like sh*t.
Nevertheless, her siblings are freaking jerks.
Nozel apologized and said that he only treated her that way before because he was afraid of losing her, but that doesn't validate all those years of emotional abuse that Noelle had endured!! He didn't stand up for her when Solid and Nebra bullied her.
Speaking of those two, they are the absolute worst. Even when Noelle's protecting these useless and weak royals who thought too highly of themselves, they still can't believe Noelle's ability.
Anyway, Noelle is such a badass! Also, I'm happy that she found a family by joining The Black Bulls.

I enjoyed this book less than the others because a lot of the scenes seem so repetitive? Idk. But it's still a pretty good volume.


P.S. Reading this made me so sad because the last episode of the anime just aired. I haven't caught up yet but I'm already crying T^T

The battle between elves and humans continue in Black Clover manga 19. We see more of the Silva family, and get a glimpse at the life of Langris and Finral. I love this series so much, both the anime and manga, and each of the characters hold such a special place in my heart. This arc especially hits hard, as some of my favourite characters, you could say, aren’t quite themselves. But nevertheless, another 5 star read for this epic series.

Elf arc is slowly reaching to an action packed finale. This volume shows how much Noelle and finral progressed and gives a glimpse to elves's real motives.

Yeah, definitely not a big fan of this volume. I wrote in my review of the previous volume that it is going to be very repetitive and I was right. In this volume, our heroes fight their comrades who are possessed by the elves and of course, there are sudden power-ups for the main characters like Noelle who I still don't like. The book focuses mainly on Noelle and Silva family in general. The only one I kind of like is Nozel, the captain. The arrival of Black Bulls and the fight between Finral and possessed Langris were good. It is good overall but I don't have high hopes.

I'll award this with a Five Star rating since I'm not too picky about giving them out, and I feel this volume does a decent job at "earning" it - pretty much just because Noelle gets a power-up. Really, the simple fact is shōnen battle manga don't often give female characters (m)any transformations, so right now Noelle is "better" than contemporaries like Ochaco or Nobara. Kind of a less "traditional" transformation than Nezuko, though....

Anyway, there's also an increase in intensity here that makes this arc feel nearly "final," or like it's leading toward a final arc. I think the equivalent in e.g. BnHA would be the Kamino Arc, which I personally thought was a bit underwhelming for what it was. Then again, in terms of chapter count, this is closer to the Shie Hassaikai Arc, which I would consider the peak of that rival manga, so... I don't know.

Sometimes I forget Noelle's boobs are as big as they are, so I was mildly surprised when she landed the finishing blow on the glasses Elf.

Going into this, I didn’t expect much from Noelle. But damn she kicked butt in this volume. Solid and his sister got put in their place AND Nozel apologized? Total win for Noelle in my opinion.
And thank god Finral came back. The most relatable guy in the series and he got to shine again AND HE GOT THE GIRL honestly if his family says that he’s useless and can’t marry her I will throw hands. And the way Yami and the Praying Mantis guy fought over him and mutually respected him was priceless.
And it took so long for the bulls to get here but their entrance was a 10/10. I still have no idea what is going on with the elves, Fana, the portal to the underworld, etc. but I can’t wait to see how the Black Bulls best dream girl and get back Gauche and Marie (even as an elf Gauche still has a sister complex).

Noelle actually gets to do something and it's pretty cool! The Silva family are real boring and don't deserve the attempts at development and emotional stakes but hey, Noelle looked cool and got a good fight, that's neat.

But even then... Noelle proving herself to her siblings has sort of happened before. And we get Finral and Langris doing the same thing they did in the Royal Knights selection thing. This has all been done before. Now it's the same, but with a lot of people with face markings shouting HUMANS DIEEEEEE I HATE HUMANS THEY ALL SUCK every other panel. They're real boring as villains.

At least Noelle got something, and the volume wasn't entirely Asta doing stuff. Which is a nice change of pace!

Ce tome c'était mon préféré pour l'instant de l'arc elfe avec un peu le tome 16 a égalité a peut près.

Point positif :

- le trio incroyable avec yami jack et finral.

- après dans la maison Silva incroyable les combat qui il y a eu la avec nebula qui tombe des le premier tir solid qui fait rien prc il a peur avec l'arrivée de nozel et noëlle incroyable avec le combat après le power up de noëlle avec le mode Valkyrie dress.

- il y a eu le combat de yami jack et finral vs langris en plus incroyable a la fin avec finral qui lui donne un coup de point et tombe tout les 2 mais juste domage que la qualité des dessins était pas top dans ce combat.

Como mencioné anteriormente, Noelle es uno de los personajes más infravaloradores de esta historia. Sea por fuera o por dentro(? Y me llena de un orgullo inmenso que cobre más protagonismo frente a quienes la creían una inútil o un ser débil. La verdad me sorprendió lo que pasa con su hermano mayor, no me la veía venir pero ya estoy esperando que se vuelva el nuevo obsesivo de hermanitas a lo Gosh 😂

P.D: nunca me voy a cansar de ver el Toro móvil en acción, menos aún si tiene a Charmy alimentando a lo loco a los compañeros. Que tipa que me mata de gusto.

All-out war feels to have consumed this book with nobles literally fighting for their very lives! Yuki Tabata delivers another great book. Make no mistake I am hooked, but this storyline is not my favorite that has been presented in the series. The character growth is essential and needed but Asta takes a back seat, and well…it is hard not to look around and try to see what he is doing all the while these acts are transpiring. Still, solid and essential work is happening here as well as the same quality art and growth you expect out of a volume of Black Clover.

It's sibling rivalry to the max as Noelle, Solid, and Nozel work together while Finral and Langris face off once again. Then Dorothy's true power is revealed as the other Black Bulls arrive in the Capital.

Honestly, seeing how the Royals treat everyone around them, I can kind of get why the Elves want to murder everyone >_>

And any time Noelle overcomes her doubts and outshines everyone around her makes me jump for joy. She's so good.

Heartfelt opening. I have been pushed around too so I appreciate when authors and illustrators work together to produce books that young adults can enjoy.

There is a lady on the front cover who dresses modestly enough for Cambodians, Koreans, Buddhists and some Muslim Groups.
