The Baby Clause 2.0 is book two in The Contract series by Melanie Moreland. This is a short, wonderful little addition to Richard and Katy’s story and how they are doing.
Richard and Katy are so happy, and now baby makes three. We get to follow them through delivery day and what lies ahead. My how Richard’s life has changed. A couple of years ago, you could never have convinced him that he would be in wedded bliss and would be a new father. He thought his heart was full with Katy in his life. He never expected how his capacity to love would grow and expand when his child was born.
“That was all I did before I found you. I coped. Now I live.”
This is full of humor, sweetness, love and a little sexy times. The love between Richard and Katy has grown even stronger. We get to see how the new parents are able to cope with parenthood. Their struggles are real!
If you didn’t completely fall in love with Richard by the end of the previous book, The Contract, you will when you read this. Now I can’t wait for book three in this series. I wonder what Ms. Moreland has in store for us next!

If you loved Richard VanRyan in Melanie Moreland's hugely successful The Contract, you are absolutely going to love The Baby Clause. My only gripe is that I read it in an hour, and I could have happily settled into another full book of Richards and Katy’s shenanigans now they are well on the way to becoming a fully-fledged family.

"Hold me…"
"You never have to ask."
Mainly told from Richard’s point of view, this novella gives you little vignettes into his life with Katy, who is carrying their first child. No lie for such a short novella Melanie managed to pull a whole gamut of emotions from me, from laughing till I almost peed myself at the beginning to a few tears, and sighs in the middle, while finishing with a happy and satisfied smile at the end.
"We did good."
This is a novella that does what is says on the tin, beautifully written, and well worth an hour of your time. I would recommend you read The Contract before you tackle this little follow-up, because it highlights just how far Mr VanRyan has come since his initial meeting with Katy to where they are now.

WHAT A NICE EXTENSION OF THE FIRST 2 BOOKS!
This was like an extra extended epilogue from the books in this series and it was worth the time for me.
I enjoyed seeing how it really ended for these two and how they dealt with the reality of everyday life after their big reveal.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Worth a read but maybe not a reread.
Only time will tell!

“What about her wonderful daddy?”
Hearing that word made me blink. Then I blinked again.
Daddy. A title I never thought would belong to me. A swell of sentiment made my throat thick. I reached out and grasped Katy’s hand, needing her touch.
“I’ll be the best daddy I can be.”
We get to see some glimpse of Richard VanRyan (33) and his wife, Katharine ‘Katy’ VanRyan (26)'s future with their newborn daughter, Grace ‘Gracie’ Anne VanRyan. It's cheesy, cute, filled with love and really short. I actually want more, I want to know and I wish we could've gotten to see Richard handle a teenager... Would've been so fun.

I still gagged on occasion. How something so small and adorable could produce nuclear explosions the way Gracie did was a mystery.
I’m sure he can tell you stories from my childhood. I remember visiting once and throwing up on his desk while he was on a conference call. He started gagging, and my mother had to drag me out, screaming. I recall her trying not to laugh.

I adored this quick, sweet, and endearing short story. I’m now primed and more than eager to dive into book #3.

Un breve scorcio sulla vita post matrimoniale di Richard e Katy, breve si ma che mira dritto al cuore. Non credo ci sia niente di più meraviglioso che entrare nella mente di un uomo burbero e tutto d’un pezzo nel momento in cui scopre tutto l’amore che ha da dare a quella miracolosa parte di lui. L’orgoglio, il senso di possesso e di protezione che emergono da quest’uomo mi hanno emozionata e mi hanno coinvolta tantissimo. Siamo tutte donne, alcune saranno fidanzate, altre mogli, alcune sorelle ed altre madri, ma sicuramente tutte siamo o siamo state figlie, e quel legame che unisce una principessa al suo primo principe dall’armatura scintillante è qualcosa che trascende tutto, è immutabile, è il primo amore di ogni donna e forse l’unico grande e vero amore di ogni uomo, qualcosa di unico e spettacolare che ognuna di noi dovrebbe avere l’onore di provare.

I am curious with The Baby Clause. Another novella for The Contract series. I guess it is OK. The story is so short that I only read it so I can fall asleep.

***2.5 Dadadada STARS***
Pues me siento un poco estafada pero de acuerdo (?)
A ver, cuando me llegó este ARC pensé que era una historia corta sobre lo que pasa después del final del libro 1.5
Pero NO ES ASÍ. Los primeros capítulos son exactamente los mismos que esos, lo bueno fue que me di cuenta a tiempo...
Así que me los pasé y literal me quedó como la mitad 😒
Me pregunto yo, si ya he sacado un libro de esto anterior ¿que necesidad hay de volverlo a meter aquí? Solo para decir que tiene más páginas?

Fue una estafa total, creo que fueron como 2 escenas continuas nuevas en este libro y yo esperaba conocer más de su historia.
En fin, un poco decepcionada por esto pero lo paso por alto.
En cuanto al libro tenemos la continuación de esta pareja "perfecta" que derrama miel, azúcar y corazones por doquier...
Siguen siendo las mismas personalidades y los mismos "momentos" de pareja.
En realidad este libro no aporta nada más allá de un buen rato para los fans de esta historia.
Aquí vemos a un nuevo Richard tratando de tomar a full su paternidad, con miedos y temores totalmente fundamentados y tratando de darle una vida mejor a sus dos mujeres favoritas.
Fue lindo, tierno y MUUUUUY DULCE, pero si te van las historias cursis (como a veces es mi caso) entonces te gustará esta historia.
Solo que a mí me chafó un poco que me metieran otra vez el libro anterior aquí, si ya lo sacaron para que me lo ponen otra vez!!!? 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
En fin, es un libro entretenido que debes leer explícitamente como continuación del primero.

So he take her to work because he had a big important meeting.
Guess what? The little darling don't like others, she just wanted dada! 😂😂😂
So, Richard had to strap Garcie on his chest, holding the milk then continue the meeting and presentation! Garcie loves the movement and dada's voice and she was sleeping throughout the meeting. Aww isn't it adorable? 😍💋
Little bit yucky stuff for dada should be ok, lol.
Hold my dummy da, I'm little bit busy with my drink 😂
Me and dada went to the meeting and get this contract done! 😜

You need to read The Contract before starting this novella. The Contract is one of my favorite books ever and I highly recommend it! I have been counting down the days until this novella was released. I started it as soon as I woke up, because I love Richard and Katy so much and I wanted more! I don’t think I’ll ever get enough of them.
Richard has changed so much from the moment he really got to know Katy, but he can still be a little rude sometimes. He’s talented and passionate about his work, but his family comes first now. He drops whatever he’s doing if his family needs him. Richard is an amazing dad and husband! He loves Katy so much, just as much as Katy loves him. Katy is sweet, loving, caring and loyal. She knows Richard through and through. It was sometimes funny how good she knows him. Katy is a wonderful mother and wife! Richard and Katy are a solid, beautiful and perfect couple.

Esta es una historia cortita, más bien llamémoslo un epílogo largo sobre la historia y la vida de Richard y Katharine después del final de El acuerdo. Ha sido cortito pero me ha encantado ver la faceta de Richard como padre, verlo con Gracie me ha derretido totalmente ❤️. Y sí, como él mismo dijo, mucho ha cambiado desde lo imbécil que era hasta el padre devoto y cariñoso que es ahora 😍. Creo que la historia podría haberse quedado aquí, así que voy con un poco de miedo a leer el siguiente y último libro, espero que no metan más drama innecesario porque lo odio, deseadme suerte 🤞🏻

Do yourself a favor, last year this time I was going ON and ON and ON about this story called The Contract. If you haven't read it, you've been not been following me closely as it was one of my all time favorite reads. What made the story? The leading man.
For all of us who need: give-me-a-man-who-will-sweep-me-off-my-feet-by-his-handsome-alpha-ways, we got: I-want-to-slap-him-then-kiss-him-and-kick-him. Never has an author so turned on every emotion for reader in a character. And it wasn't just the leading man we adored. The heroine and secondary characters left a lingering mark. So what happens after the HEA?
Ms Moreland gives us exactly the perfect followup and so much more. Best part about 2.0, Richard is still Richard. You want to smack him upside the head while you hug his mug. And Katy still deserves every reward for taming this man. You get their next phase that has you grinning and swooning with each page turn. And wanting the 3.0 "Teenage Years" next. If you've not read The Contract, you must. Then pick up this gem to get a further look into these fabulous characters.

Well, it's a novella, and I rather dislike novellas, so I might be a little biased here.
But it was cute as hell, and so sweet I almost feel all sugary sticky after reading it. It was like Nutrasweet - 100 times sweeter that real sugar. :)

I’m usually not a fan of novellas so a 5 star for one is... well... I think this is the first time I’ve every given one 5 stars. But, it is full of so many feel-goods that I just couldn’t help myself!
