Again, I’d love this series if there weren’t so many gross, misogynistic jokes. There’s a lot here that I actually laughed out loud at outside of those. Like, I enjoyed the joke about Midoriya “controlling” Bakugo with reverse psychology. I liked the bits about them rescue training and Takoyami being unable to do CPR because of his beak 😂

There were a lot of digs at Uraraka for being poor but I liked Momo staying with her. Although, I don’t necessarily see how that helped her be more confident. I’m not sure why staying with Ochaco taught Momo it’s ok to be imperfect, but it was still a nice story.

(1) All Might and Mr. Nezu came up with the most amusing and silly ideas with final examination, hahaha.

(2) and The League of Villains have ice-breaking fun activities, and spend their time together during Halloween!

(3) The kind-hearted Izuku helps his classmates out on the last day of the summer holiday, and you can guess how it will go. LOL

(4) So Recovery Girl is a Veteran Gambler and MahJong player!

And why are Mr. Nezu and Recovery Girl both changed into traditional kimonos when they play MahJong!??? LOL

(5) Izuku demonstrates his resourcefulness in handling Kacchan. LOL

(6) the Students' resolution scenes are so great! Of course, they want to deal with the problems caused by Katsuki too. XD

(7) Overall it is a very delightful volume!!!

It's a really stupid but funny 4-panel gags involving My Hero Academia.
Again, some of the jokes are hit-and-miss. So if you start reading it and get a little turned off, try to power through it. There's probably a joke for you.

Included in this volume:
Summer vacation. Summer homework. Final exams. Training camp. Villain shenanigans.
Also Halloween costumes, Bakugou plays the game of life, Momo pretends to be poor, and a New Year's play.

And there's a bonus chapter about everyone getting turned into animals. (Also some official art from Kohei Horikoshi! It's the super fluffy Sheep!Deku and I had to resist the urge to color him.)

This series has 5 volumes.

I read My Hero Academia: Smash Vol. 3 through VIZ Media: Shonen Jump.

My Hero Academia: Smash is a series intent on retelling the original series that we love so much (My Hero Academia, in case that wasn't painfully obvious), but with a more...humorous twist. If you haven't read the original series, a lot of what happens here probably won't make a lot of sense.

Likewise, if you don't want to see MHA without it's more serious edge...this probably isn't the series for you. It's a little bit quirky, and a whole lot crazy. Not exactly the series that caught our attention, to put it mildly.

My Hero Academia: Smash!! Vol. 3 is every bit as crazy and chaos fueled as the first two volumes of this series. As with the rest, the entire goal of this volume is to have a silly retelling of the dramatic events that occur within MHA.

This time around that means they're covering the Summer Training (one of my favorite arcs), though there are several arcs thrown into the mix that had never been there before. Additionally, the entire summer plot goes very differently. Then again, given what series we're talking about, that isn't much of a surprise.

On the whole, I think I liked the last volume better. This one was fun and all...but I think because it was turning two dramatic events (the final exam and the summer training) into something silly and frilly it just...lost something in translation.

Still, fans of the series might enjoy this more relaxing retelling of the series they love so much. Or not. It might depend on how much they love the arcs involved in this volume.

My Hero Academia Smash! Is back with a zanier gag-manga take on the world of My Hero Academia. A lot of it is really stupid, but it's also done with a pretty interesting distillation of things from the show to fairly funny possible distillation. I need to go back and reread and review volumes 1 and 2, but really... it's kinda hard to review a gag manga. This book loosely follows the summer training bit of the series, though ... yeah, it's definitely got a different vibe. It's corny and fun, and I don't know if I'd ever call any of this series must-read for fans, but if you're interested, give it a try.

This series is actually growing on me. I fairly enjoyed this one. It covered summer vacation, summer training camp, bakugou’s kidnapping, final exams, and more.

It’s literally a hit or miss with a lot of the jokes. But I’m beginning to understand the author’s humor and I really enjoy some of them. His characterizations are growing on me, which makes it funnier and easier to read.

I think the best way to explain/summarize this series -My Hero Academia Smash- is to say that it's like a parody.

And being a parody, the author took elements from the original work (like the protagonists and the world), transformed them a little (?or would it be a lot?) and put his humor in between.

Another one of those ones that's just okay. Should be two of the better early arcs (the final exam and forest training) but it falls flat for having no substance. Not sure if these actually get any better, but we'll see.

Really funny. Definitely the first volume is the worst, but #2 and 3 are both good. The training class graded on drama was maybe my favourite, but there was lots of good stuff.

In this series of four-panel gags, the gang goes to the beach, on a bus trip, through a weird series of final exams, and shopping together! Plus, they practice making their rescues extra dramatic!

Just a bunch of gags using the MHA characters as finger puppets. Does have some fun joke characterizations thrown in (hardcore gamer shigaraki was great). A decent read for an MHA fan.
