HarperAlley has acquired author Tina Cho and illustrator Deborah Lee's The Tune Without Words, a middle grade graphic novel in verse that follows Yuhno and Joo Ri in their escape from North Korea and the many dangers they face—poisonous jungle snakes, corrupt soldiers, and the daily fear of being found out and sent back—in their journey to freedom. Publication is scheduled for fall 2022.
