Author Biography: Col. Anthony E. Hartle is the professor of philosophy and a member of the permanent faculty at the United States Military Academy at West Point. He has served tours of duty in Okinawa, Korea, and Southeast Asia. As a member of an airborne unit in Vietnam he was wounded and decorated for valor. He also commanded an infantry battalion in the 101st Airborne Division. Hartle is a member of the Executive Board of the Joint Services Conference on Professional Ethics and served as a staff member of the 1986 Presidential Commission on the Space Shuttle Challenger Accident. He is the coeditor (with John Kekes) of Dimensions of Ethical Thought.

As an educator who teaches ethics to graduate students, I really enjoyed this book as it is very helpful to use for course discussions and to gain deeper insights on how ethics applies within the Profession or Arms.
