About the author

Hi - I'm Sally Green. I'm the author of the real-world/ fantasy Half Bad Trilogy, which is made up of Half Bad, Half Wild and Half Lost. Most people read them in that order but there's always a few who don't. Many people who read them are teenagers but there's a lot who aren't.

I'm currently working on a new series called The Smoke Thieves, which is due to be published in spring 2018 and is definitely fantasy (there will be a map).

I said I'd never write another trilogy after Half Bad but it seems I lied.

I live in a village in north-west England.

Una historia corta de la trilogía Una vida oculta que me ha gustado, pero que no ha llegado a decirme nada.

Gabriel, Jon o Rose son algunas de las voces que narran esta breve historia en la que descubrimos más sobre Gabriel y su primer encuentro con Nathan, como algún que otro chico que le gusta y descubrimos un poco más de Mercury.

No me ha llegado a convencer porque quizá era demasiado corta como para contar algo en condiciones. Ha sido entretenido, me ha gustado la voz de Gabriel, pero creo que no es un relato necesario. El lado falso, por otro lado, sí lo es.

I'm slightly disappointed with this...

I thought there would be more to it.
I thought we would learn more about Gabriel and his infatuation with Nathan.

The synopsis is a tad misleading as the story is not only told from just Gabriel's point of view.
I think the chapters involving Jon weren't necessary.

I think there was potential here and we could have learned so much more about Gabriel, but it unfortunately fell a little flat.

However, I am still excited for Half Lost and this short story has done well to tide me over for now.

Reading this was like picking at a barely healed over scab wound. It hurt because I read Half Lost before I bothered to read the novellas. It h u r t s. I've re-opened old wounds and I am not okay.

I loved her - still love her - more than I imagine I'll love anyone. But I know now that her death won't kill me, just as the death of my mother and grandmother hurt me but didn't break me.

Gabriel Boutin has sought out Mercury to help him find his true self again. But the payment she demands might be too much for him. Even if it will eventually lead to him crossing paths with Nathan Byrn.

I want to stay with him. I have to stay with him.

Things I liked about Half Truths:
•It's from Gabriel's POV (and Rose's)
•Gabriel dancing rumba with Rose
•Gabriel climbing and smiling
•the tons of sugar in his coffee (relatable)
•Gabriel meeting Nathan for the first time

Things I didn't like:
•It cut off abruptly right when Gabriel brought Nathan home (I expected them to at least interact on-page)
•Jon's POV (was it really necessary?)
•it ended with Gabriel watching Nathan sleep and it was more than mildly disturbing
•Gabriel decided he has to stay with Nathan less than a day after meeting him (insta-love much?)

Бтв ,хайде някой да преведе "ПолуИзгубен" ,че вече не мога да се самозалъгвам с тези кратки истории...Нищо че излезе само преди ден...нямам нищо против да получа емоционален срив след края на трилогията....

Бтв#2 може ли Сали Грийн да пише толкова приятно? Явно може.

Es una historia corta de menos de 40 páginas, es obvio que no va a ser la gran cosa pero aún así me entretuvo y entendemos como Gabriel terminó con Mercury, y hace mención de Nesbitt y Van Dal

I have to stay with him. Whether I stay as a fain or get back to being a witch, I know that I have to stay with him. I can feel it, the connection, like nothing I’ve ever felt. He’s different from any witch I’ve met before. He’s more witch than anyone I’ve met before.”

I’m screaming! This is amazing! He just knew from the very start that they were meant to be. I ship Gabriel and Nathan so much and that was so nice. I’m glad that this was the last book I read in the series. It’s nice and lovely and everyone is alive... well almost everyone... but it’s so nice.

More like a 2.5 stars. I'm so incredibly disappointed with this. I wanted to know more about Gabriel, more about how he feels about Nathan. The story isn't even told fully from Gabriel's perspective so there were opportunities missed by reading from someone else's view. Not what I expected at all sadly. Also it was so incredibly short! It only took up 61% of the pages and then it was all adverts and extracts from the other books.

La historia que se cuenta en esta entrega que sirve de entretenimiento previo a El Lado Perdido, el desenlace de la trilogía, en resumidas cuentas se queda en eso, un entretenimiento para el lector apasionado de la trilogía, ya que realmente no profundiza demasiado en nada (en apenas 40 páginas, es complicado contar demasiado, aunque el formato en forma de diario en El Lado Falso cundió mucho más).

Lo cierto es que "El lado real" me ha dejado un poco frío, siendo sincero. Quizás sea porque "El lado falso" me sorprendió muchísimo como relato corto y este no ha cumplido mis expectativas por un motivo clave, y es que no cuenta nada que aporte algo importante a la historia de los personajes como sí hizo su predecesor.
Igualmente, se lee en un suspiro y, ahora sí que sí, puedo empezar con "El lado perdido".

Me ha encantado vivir este pedacito de la historia bajo la piel de Gabriel, el mejor personaje de la serie junto a Nathan, y me ha encantado poder conocer un poco mejor sus sentimientos y contemplar de primera mano ese momento que cambia toda su vida: cuando conoce a Nathan. El lado real es un relato muy corto, que apenas cuenta nada nuevo, pero que resulta una golosina para los fans de la saga y de Gabriel.

Siempre es un placer leer a Sally Green, su narrativa es tan fluida que es imposible no leer sus escritos en poco tiempo. El lado real me ha gustado por su simpleza y porque conocemos más de Gabriel, un personaje fundamental y genial en la trilogía. No es indispensable este relato corto, pero si les gusta la trilogía este relato también es para ustedes.

Nada indispensable para la trama central de la trilogía pero sin duda una buena forma de conocer aún más a uno de los personajes más carismáticos de esta increíble historia. Excelente.

Gabriel se encuentra en Europa, y busca la manera de dejar de ser un fain y volver a su verdadera esencia. Empieza a trabajar con Mercury, una poderosa Bruja Negra, pero poco a poco se da cuenta que la vida como fain puede ser una gran escapatoria de su oscuro pasado.

Bueno, bueno. No tengo mucho por decir, siguen siendo relatos cortos e introductorios que ayudan a aumentar el interés por la historia.

Ya estoy un poco emocionada por arrancar oficialmente con el primer libro de la trilogía y a ver que resulta 👀
