Want to see a man shatter? Take away the love of his life.
Nick should have gotten over the hurt by now. It happened when he was a teenager, and it's not like he's the only person to lose someone they love. The catch is that Nick is carrying so much guilt from the night his life changed, that he'll never fully come back. He'd have to forgive himself and that's something he just doesn't deserve. Not now, not ever.
That is until Garrett Anderson widower and CEO of the hotel Nick works for, comes waltzing into his life. After losing his wife, Garrett swore off love and relationships, believing that once you have an epic love, you can't ever have something that amazing again. Simple work place drama, like Garrett accidentally spilling coffee on a very pissed off Nick one day at a nearby coffee shop ends up flipping life upside down for both, and before long, Nick is aching to move past his pain and try to love someone again, and Garrett is wondering if the universe just dropped a second epic, all-consuming love right in his lap.
They have to heal each other if they're going to let love launch them into bliss, and there's more standing in the way than the work/romance drama they're going to face soon.
The second time around, can be a Blessing! Garrett, widower thinking he has only one epic love in his lifetime, Christina his late wife, is stuck in his love rut. Nick, heavily weighted down by guilt and regret over Matty, is stuck in his love rut. The weight gets heavier when you try to move through grief alone, ignoring friends. They meet accidentally and Garrett, shows a sense of awareness of his habitual preoccupation. When Garrett checks into the hotel he is assessing, he is attracted to Nick. He hasn't felt that since Christine. This story is one of discovery and the realization that you must be open for new opportunities. I like Garrett and Nick, they were solid characters. The courtship dance prelude dragged on for a bit. Nice story! I received an ARC from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
An accidental meeting turned into so much more. Garrett the older CEO of the hotel chain finds a second chance with the younger charismatic Nick who works for him. Nick is drawn to the beautiful older man even though they met on the wrong foot. Garrett gradually grows on Nick and wears his defenses down and he decides to take a chance on loving somebody else after being hurt by tragedy in the past. Both of these lovely people ultimately get over their insecurities and get together. A wonderful HEA.

YAAAS!!! A.L. Miller is so talented and I just love her writing!
Both Nick and Garrett have lost loved ones in the past. Neither is sure if they want to enter into another serious relationship where they could experience the same hurt. But when they meet, can they ignore the chemistry igniting between them?
I adored both Nick and Garrett. They were just both so sweet and perfect for each other. I was rooting for them so hard. I loved seeing a bit of Alex and Max from the first book. I just thought that this story was so amazing and I wanted it to go on forever. I can't wait to see what's next in this series and what's next from A.L. Miller!
Nick has been blaming himself for the death of his first love, making it so he never get close to any possible new love. Garrett is still grieving, then feeling guilty for having met someone and having feelings for them.
They help each other overcome and recover.
The teaser at the end miss miller.... erm whens that coming!?????
It is hard to think of a worst first encounter than Garrett and Nick had with them literally running into each other and Nick walking away wearing his coffee. Nick works for the hotel, Garrett is the CEO. Nick is younger, Garrett is a widower drowning himself in work. This should not be e!events of the beginning of a courtship that blossoms into a love story but it was. And it was a good story.

Slow start but engaging, setting up the background andbuilding of attraction and relationsip. Garrett is still recovering from the death of his wife a year ago, not yet engaging much outside of work. His family keeps encouraging him to visit to see friends but he is not ready . Nick is unable to forgive himself for the loss he had as a teenager, so he doesn't do relationships only hookups. Enjoyed this story.

Okay so I liked the story but the writing lacked a bit. I enjoyed the characters, Nick and Garrett are cute and fun and their love story was sweet with a bit of angst. But the writing felt a bit rushed. I could have been more descriptive. Overall I did enjoy reading this book.

3.5 Stars..... This was an ok read for me. I really did not get the feels from this story. I felt like there was some chemistry between Garrett and Nick, but not enough. Their story line felt a bit rushed and not enough. At times I just felt Nick's character was immature and petty and Garrett's too giving. I don't know, maybe it was just too simple of story. The most disappointing was the epilogue that had nothing to do with Garrett and Nick.

This is sweet and clean and falling in love should be fun and angsty. Garrett may be older and wealthier but his emotions still cause him to free fall for Nick. Nick is flamboyant and sassy and full of life. This is a fun read of learning what is important in life.

This was a sweet, fun and emotional story. Garrett is a widowed, wealthy slightly older gentleman than Nick. Garrett is the CEO of the hotel Nick works at. Nick has a devil may care attitude, is flamboyant and sassy. They shouldn’t work together as a couple but they just do. I can’t wait for the continuation of this series!
Great read. Loved this story. This is book two in the series. The storyline was so good it was interesting and keeps you going Till the end. This is a great romance adventure. The characters are great and interesting. Loved this adventure.
I enjoyed the overall story and I really like the chemistry between the leads I was hoping for a little more maturity from Nick and some more action but overall a decent read.
A little bit of heartache, a little bit of fancy and a romance that takes a bit but finally takes off. The heartbreak of loss is the underlying drama we read here but the story has its brighter moments with the new romance lurking around our heroes. Garrett and Nick find their way to one another and the process of healing begins. Likable heroes with strong friendships create a story that is moving and offers a nice HEA.

4 1/2 This is the first I’ve read from this author and I was pleasantly surprised. The plot was different from my normal go to. The chemistry was instantaneous. It has all the feels. The sorrow and happiness are both beautifully written. I must read.
