I felt this story moved too slowly for a romantic suspense novel. Both main characters could have been better developed; Mitch was a shallow, self-centered individual and Maggie didn’t seem all that bright for a veterinarian. I found myself rooting for Adam & Jenny and not Mitch & Maggie.

I liked this one. The ending seemed a little rushed but maybe that's just my opinion. Mitch was awesome, loved him, he liked her but couldn't understand that that's how he felt, it was cute. And Maggie was a bad*ss, she was sweet and all but she tough too when she needed to be. I loved them together, they fit really well as a couple

Really well written
Really well written, Maggie and Mitch and all the characters are wonderful and so alive in this novel you feel like you are apart of it. This would make a great movie. I have already downloaded the next two in the series and plan on reading right away.

Seriously???!!!
I've been going through books and even my favorite writers gone boring then your book came along and loved it. Read it in one day and wanted the next series to read but I can only find this book. Please tell you're working on the next series or tell me, there's more you wrote and haven't found them? Thoroughly enjoyed this book I highly recommend!!!

Personally, I am not a fan of third person POVs, I find it difficult to follow when the paragraphs jump from one POV to another without, for the most part, mentioning who's POV it is. It doesn't read well for me.
If there was any romance in the story, it came from Adam and Jenny, not Mitch and Maggie. I stopped reading around three quarters of the way because Mitch was more focused on finding his partner's murderer and Maggie seemed to be a character in a different book.
How romantic:
“Mitch hadn’t wanted to take her in and had tried every excuse in the book to get out of it, but when Adam finally called Jenny, Mitch knew he’d been beaten. He couldn’t say no to her tearful plea.”
“Mitch was frustrated. It’s not that he didn’t want Maggie safe — he did. He just didn’t need the distraction right now. He needed to focus on finding Manuel and didn’t have time to babysit a witness. No matter how good looking she was.”
“Someone had to protect her and, as Jenny had reminded him repeatedly, he had no job, no one depending on him, and nothing tying him down, so there was no reason he couldn’t do it. That conversation had hurt. Harold needed him.” He would rather look after a parrot than Maggie.
The stupidity of Mitch and Adam's idea of catching Jimmy's murderer was ludicrous. Had they locked up Manuel's sidekicks, they had a better chance of getting to Manuel who would be without said sidekicks and more vulnerable. But what did they choose to do? Gave them their car keys and followed them to Manuel but only went back the next day, finding nothing but one dead body. Their response: "We should have gone in last night and finished this. Fuck!" Ya think?

This is your typical romance. Mitch is basically a hard-headed idiot on a revenge trip who falls Maggie. The plot is strong enough to carry you past the editing problems. Having seen no mention of an editor, I would suggest the author hired one.
I felt their was way to much telling rather than showing. Over use of passive words. Add in way too many sentences starting with a name or pronoun, slowed the pace down.
Also, the pies Maggie ordered in, turned to pizza on the next page.
All in all, it’s a decent read but needs another edit.

Dislikes: Mitch's character is hot headed and self absorbed. He's a jerk, basically a man baby. He thinks wooing Maggie is refraining from "doing her" on the beach.

Very good.
Maggie and Mitch definitely get off to a bad start. But Jenny and Adam help them on a journey to friendship and eventually love.

Oh my god, this book...
I have always said that I’m not much of a romance reader, but as the years go by, I’m starting to realize that I like romance more than I thought I did. Do I read a copious amount of them? No. I read a handful a year, plus most of the books I read have romance in them. So I’m starting to figure out what I like and what I don’t like. And let me tell you, what this book had to offer, I did NOT like.
First of all, I hated the main characters. Mitch was an asshole. I don’t care how attractive the guy was, he didn’t need to be such a jerk. “Oh, but his past... his partner died-” Shove it! I don’t care! That does not give him the right to treat others the way he did. And I didn’t like his attitude of “a man like him doesn’t need a shrink.” Fuck right off with your toxic masculinity.
And don’t even get me started with all the objectification! His therapist is a very attractive woman who he once slept with, which... All sorts of issues there that I won't go into. But during his sessions, he would blame HER for his lack of focus because of what she was wearing!! Immediately NO.
But at least during one of those sessions she had the decency to wear slacks instead of a skirt so that he wouldn’t be distracted 🙃
God forbid he takes responsibility for his own feelings and actions 🙄 And the women in this book were no better when it came to objectification. It was shocking! Listen, I like when a character appreciates the attractiveness of another, but there is a fine line between that and objectification, and this book crossed it every time.
As for Maggie... a Mary Sue clumsy heroine??? How totally not cliche!
And the romance... honestly, I wouldn’t even call it a romance. It was nothing but lust and sex and ogling one another. Look, I love when a book has sexual tension between characters, and I don’t mind sex scenes in a book either, but those scenes mean absolutely nothing to me if there is no emotional attachment between the characters. And that could very well be just a me thing, which is fine. But this book had SO much freaking sex in it, and the characters didn’t even know each other! The amount of sex wasn’t the problem, it was that they didn’t stop to really get to know one another that was the issue for me! I just didn’t care for their relationship that, honestly, wasn’t really a relationship at all. And it’s fine if you read books just for the spice, it just clearly was not for me. I need substance in my relationships, otherwise I don’t care. (There were also a couple of “sexy” scenes that were so ridiculous they gave me secondhand embarrassment 👀 The way I CRINGED 😂)
This book is labeled as a romantic suspense, which is one of the reasons why I picked it up. But the romance and suspense were not balanced well at all. From my review, you can probably tell that the romance outweighed the suspense. I kept thinking how if this was a horror movie both of these unlikable protagonists would be dead SO fast! Waaaaait... now there’s an idea 👀
Probably would’ve made this book more interesting, to be honest 😂 This book was supposed to have a plot besides, you know, sex. Said plot didn’t really kick off until the 47% mark! Yeah, I don’t know how I managed to not DNF this book. I didn’t enjoy this book, but it also (somehow) wasn’t the worst book I have read. The romance was not it. There was no substance to it... we were literally getting actual emotions at the 80% mark of the book! That is wild! And apparently, they get to know each other after the story wraps up, but before the epilogue?? Which is super cool because we got to see none of that 🙃 But let me say that the relationship between Adam (Mitch’s current partner) and Jenny (Maggie’s aunt) I DID like! The romance there was sweet and they took the time to get to know each other! That relationship had more substance than the one between the two protagonists!
Suffice to say, I will not be continuing the series. Shocker. I know 😆 Apparently the rest of the series follows Mitch’s brothers, but if they’re anything like Mitch, I want NOTHING to do with them.

Tinged with sadness, guilt, fury, bitterness and the intense agony of losing his best friend and partner during a shootout, Mitch was struggling to cope. He was not a happy guy until Maggie crossed his path. He was loyally emotionally supporting His disceased partner's wife and two sons, but Maggie had been there for them right from his murder. They had never met until she fell flat on her face in front of him.
Their relationship developed rapidly, leaving her insecure and hurt. He wanted to run. Read it! Its a good example of the insecurity that happens when people put the cart before the horse instead of obeying what our Creator commanded.

Who knew who?
A dog walker's worst nightmare might be having a squirrel run onto a New York City sidewalk while trying to walk too many dogs while wearing high heels, tripping and losing one of the dog's leashes, right when two policemen come around the corner, intent on ticketing you!
Well, there's no place to go but up, you would think, but you could be wrong. Thus suspense, romance, and police focused novel is really great. It's some thing for everyone. I loved the intricate plot!

'Saving Mitch' was a thrilling read. Its page-turning plot was filled with suspense, tension, regret, a little action, and a cat-and-mouse game between the protagonists, Mitch and Maggie. Moreover, the author's use of vivid details created a riveting tone. Harold, the parrot, was a riot with his colorful talk! However, I must have missed something about Mitch's finances as he could afford an apartment building for the elderly and all he envisioned for them in New York on a policeman's salary. Nevertheless, I liked the narrative.

Decent story, but...
There are two stories going on. The main characters, Mitch and Maggie plus secondary characters, Adam, Mitch's new police partner and Jenny, Maggie's best friend.
I'm not a fan of having two storylines going on with different people. Apparently, the author didn't feel Adam and Jenny could hold a whole book on their own.
M&M storyline got a bit convoluted with the mob boss thing going on.
I'm neutral on recommending this book.
Needs one more editing pass to catch the silly spelling errors.

Loved it! A great casual read with great pacing, tension building, character development, and a satisfying wrap up. I personally love the shift in POV between characters and the balance of Mitch and Maggie’s relationship with the twists and turns of the plot. I also like the connection into the next book. It’s like a modern day, action packed Bridgerton! I will definitely be finishing the series 😊

She's a veterinarian who is the little bit clumsy girl next door type who gives love 'em and leave 'em Mitch a rash. There's just something about them though... Could it be... ? Oh, and along the way, there's a murder to solve. This is a keep you on the edge of your seat first in series. Enjoy

Mitch MacDonald is trouble looking for a place to happen. Maggir Tucker couldn't be more opposite. She's a bit of a goody two shoes, doesn't cuss, loves animals and is a veterinarian. On paper they shouldn't work but the road to their relationship is a rollercoaster ride of highs and lows. Along the way he finds the peace he's been looking for since the death of his partner but not before Maggie's life is put in jeopardy. Excellent story with interesting characters.

When his partner is killed during a bank robbery, Officer Mitch MacDonald feels it was his fault. Because of that he has been acting out at work. His superior sends him to a psychiatrist to get him help. I won't tell anything else that happens. You'll have to read it yourself. The story was well written and interesting. I enjoyed reading it very much. Highly recommended.

I was hooked on this book from the first page. Wonderful characters, great storyline. I felt several different emotions reading this book - angry, sad, happy, heartbroken. But what I enjoyed most was the author’s dry humor!!! I laughed till I was in tears throughout this well written, entertaining book!

I couldn't help but feel the pace was kinda slow, but the sexual heat was good, the editing was good, and the overall story was entertaining. The characters were slow in developing, but they grew on you with time. I've read much worse, but I've also read much better.

Great story!

Love the wooing!
This book seemed so real. I felt that these events could have really happened. Five star for sure. Any book that has been interrupting my getting things done is a winner in my book. Be prepared to read quickly so you could find out the ending.

This was supposed to be a romance, but the 2 main characters barely talk to each other before they are having sex and then hiding from cartel hitmen. The 2 secondary characters are more believable, but the 'love at first sight' thing added with all the other tired tropes lowered the rating for me.
