The conclusion to the sensual 'Pleasure Wars' Series.
Less than six months.
That’s all that stands between me—and freedom.
I thought the longer things went on, the easier they’d get. But nothing is ever easy when it comes to Killian Abernathy. They say the line between love and hate is paper thin . . . and I think I finally understand that sentiment. Because I don’t hate Killian. I hate what he brings out of me. The dark, dirty side of myself that doesn’t fit in with the rest of the world.
And it scares me.
He scares me.
Because the truth is so much harder to admit than the lies I’ve been holding onto.
And the truth is, maybe, instead of the Dom’s For-now, I wanted to be the Dom’s Forever.
SCROLL UP AND ONE CLICK The Dom’s Forever, part three in a tantalizing dark romance trilogy, The Pleasure Wars.
So I had hoped that the pace picked up after the second book. That we get to know more about who Killian his, what made him tick. And yet it just all on the surface. Ash on the other side is coming more out of her shell in the 3 book and yet its lacking the sizzle, the dramatic race to the finish line. But most of all the Epilogue is very disappointing. You only see Ash side. Nothing about how Killian is feeling. The whole scene plays at the club with her monologing. No resolve about how they relationship either had progressed or not. Are they a real couple? Are they just playing? Wish I had more resolve at the end.
I read the whole series (which really could have been a standalone, honestly), and the whole overarching theme of the money and the contract was only touched upon at the end. Talk about annoying! You read this whole series to find out what happens to the characters and getting the money and everything that should have been included in the epilogue. But it wasn’t!!! It is a good series, but there are parts where you’ll be disappointed.
I read three whole books to have it end like that. On top I had to buy the second one because it was the one not on kindle unlimited. Ugh very frustrated
I didn’t really love the ending, but it ended in a realistic manner For how the characters were portrayed. I have questions that remain on answered, but that’s to be expected when some thing doesn’t tie up in an HEA. I did get the sense of fondness between Killian and ash, but there still the question of whether or not Killian is capable of deep love. It really does make a lot of sense that they would get a divorce at the end of the year contract and then continue seeing each other, to see how they get along moving forward. I did like how he was finally able to admit that he didn’t want her seeing Simon anymore and he wanted to be the one who got to be in her life and continued to explore their relationship and sexual endeavors.
This Series was very good. I kinda felt like this last book was slightly rushed covering the last 6 months of the year long marriage when the first two book covered the first 6 months. Plus in the last six months they actually learn so much about each other. I also kinda felt the ending... Well a book about their proposal and marriage meeting her family... First Christmas... Meeting his mom... There are soon many bits I wonder about including children... And what did she dream of becoming with her Art degree... I all could see another book. I did like this story and series a lot .
Ok so I'm in between 3 stars and 4. 4 because it was a good book and I like the plot. I still hate how Ash thought it was all "perverted" and they kept saying he hit her. Trying to demean it, it felt like. Also ok the ending was just ugh. It wasnt that it was bad but it ended like the first book so it made u think that maybe there would be a 3rd book then u see the epilogue. The epilogue felt like an after thought. I want to see what happened once they hit their 1 yr anniversary. And how their parents reacted to their news all that. But it just wasn't there. I just wish there was more to the story!
I was looking for a better ending. Ashley was a disappointment in this book. She sold her soul for him and money. Accepting Kellan going to the sex club and bringing another sub over to his house to participate with them even though in her heart she was uncom-fortable. A Sadtist (Kellan) are only for their pleasures. That being said, possiveness is part of their personality. I don't think after their time is up, the relationship will desolve.
After finishing the 3rd book in this series, I've Decided that I really wasn't a fan of his Killian was perhaps my least favorite "hero" He had a spoiled sense of entitlement that just grated on me. I In all I guess I couldn't get passed the lack of commitment from either of them. The whole series was just about a business transaction, totally lacking any romance.
Ugh... I loved the characters and the overall premise of the book and the writing was good but I felt it could have been so much more... the ending just sort of left it all hanging and that really bothered me...
I enjoyed this book but I was a little disappointed in the ending. I thought it could have used another chapter or two or even a fourth book in the series.
So, the characters have finally grown up! Killian has learned to embrace his emotions and express them in a healthy way, and Ash has stopped being such an unlikable, salty b*tch. They actually wngaged in some productive communication like adults instead of both of them acting like immature children! Finally! My main complaint for this book, and really, the entire series, is that I was waiting for a solid HEA, and I didn't really get one. Everything was basically left up in the air. I won't go into detail because that would require the use of spoilers, but suffice it to say, things were left far too open ended. I had hoped we'd be taken beyond the one year anniversary mark in Killian and Ash's marriage to see how they ended up, but we were denied that, so I'm left feeling unsatisfied. Particularly after having read three fricking books to get to the ending! I do feel cheated out of a proper and satisfying ending. If you're gonna make people read three very poorly edited books, then for chrissake, give 'em an ending worthy of that many hours of reading!
Definitely The Better of the Three Books So, the characters have finally grown up! The third and final part in the series and Ash has now met someone else too and it’s just enough to break Killian out of his own head.
Whilst Ash questions her relationship with both Killian and Simon. Killian questions it too.
I loved that Ash really let her fire out in this book and spoke up for herself and her feelings realising what she wanted and getting Killian to do the same. It wasn’t without issue and there were still moments when I wanted to smack Killian up side the head but I was championing him over Simon and hoping for a Happy Ever After.
I would have liked to see how they dealt with the final months of marriage and what happened after they got divorced but I suppose that’s always another opportunity for another book in the series.
This trilogy, which honestly could have been a standalone, was a bit disappointing. The story was good, the scenes realistic, but the ending. Just blah. It was realistic, probably what would/could happen in a real relationship like this. But if I wanted real life, I wouldn't read books like this. I wanted that HEA. I wanted an epilogue where Killian confessed love for Ash, and she for him. That final conversation about their divorce, even in the lawyers office, just before signing divorce papers, they toss the pens and stay together, come what may. As a reader, I feel cheated.
Soooo disappointed with the ending I just felt like they went backwards not forwards at all! I'm totally a sucker for a happy ending and I feel short changed in all honesty. I really haven't warmed to Killian in all honesty and after 3 books that's also disappointing. I hate the end where he made tea without being asked.. just not a good Dom in eyes. There are far better series out there and I agree with others that it was a bit much being over 3 books not one long story. I felt bored at times and that's not good! I wouldn't pay for this but as its on unlimited I wouldn't discourage others from reading.
Ashlyn and Killian are still finding their way in this unorthodox relationship. Killian doesn't know how to adequately express his feelings. His spoiled, entitled, and accustomed to getting what he wants, but Ash isn't just going to lay down and take whatever he wants to give her...without a fight, even if she does want it. When she looks outside of their arrangement for companionship, she realizes that no one compares to Killian. Will Killian's dominate ways ruin what the time they have left and the possibility of something beyond the year?
Steamy sex between Killian and Ashlyn was so hot. BDSM,Lillian was showing to her, pushing her limits, she got to craving all the kinky things. Lillian overheard, discussing her lack of finances. He got a idea, how to get his trust fund, and help Ashlyn with her finances. She had to marry him, for one year, he gets his trust fund and lots of kinky sex with her, and he will give half $$$$. Killian has a horrible mom, always degrading him, insulting him.At the end they develop feelings, but both can't say the word, that is on their mind.Very hot book, made me Hot, wanting what they were having.
What a conclusion. This story is well built. You see the progression the female character goes through to come to term with her true nature. Also, the male character also goes through awakening feelings for her. I loved the ending. There is still hope for these two. I thought he went easy on her from the beginning but he does end up putting her through the paces. I highly recommend this series to the genre lovers.
Jealousy can derail a relationship but figuring out how to work around the issue is how a relationship lasts. Seeing her finally accept who she is and watching him slowly figure his feelings...although he still has a lot of hangups to work through. I'd recommend this series
It was a good series. The build up to th e end was phenomenal but I was a little disappointed by the ending. It was good but after all the excitement in the three books, I just was expecting a blow out ending. Like him having to meet her parents or, God forbid, her having to meet his mother. But, very entertaining books.
I read all 3 books pretty quick. I couldn't seem to put them down. I seen it as my laundry would still be there when I got my Killian fill. 😆
Every part of all 3 books was described well. I have put a toe into BDSM in real life but the way she described everything made me consider another toe or two. 😂😉
The ending was completely rushed. It feels like a whole second half of the book or just missing. It just stopped suddenly with no real ending. The ending to a 3 book series really deserves a true ending. This ending wouldn’t even do a 1 book justice. Very disappointing after all the lead up of the last two books!!!! Makes me completely regret reading the books!!!!
Great read by Harper west, a little out of my comfort zone but not too bad, a unusual story a male dom & his submissive are having difficuties with their relationship, will they make up? Read on and see!
A dramatic ending with Killian and his pet doing exactly what they both wanted. The journey to get where they are now was full of ups and downs but they needed tg he time to find out what they wanted. Interesting story.
I enjoyed the story, but it felt rushed. The ending for me was just blah... I wanted to know what happened at the end of the 12 months, how they were further down the line... the Epilogue just felt tacked on
This is the 3rd book of Killian and Ashlyn. Things finally come to a head and decisions about whether and how to continue need to be fought out. In the end they both realise this is exactly what they need
Clearly after a year they knew they loved each other so they should of stayed married and made a go at their marriage this book was so ass backwards it pissed me off. Kill is the only reason for 3 stars
I liked the context of this story and the relationship I’d the people. I was pleasantly surprised about the ending. However, a lot of grammatical errors which made me want to stop reading.
This book was "meh" there was nothing super exciting. The spice was very internalized and it was just mainly the characters inner thoughts about the other person rather than the moment. So much internal monolouges that i HATED so the overall rating is 2/5
This book was amazing, but I still wanted to know what happened next 😉.
Sometimes these novellas just don't have enough space to continue on with the story 🤔. I feel like I'm left wanting 😕. But, Thanks again Harper, I'll truly check out other things that you've written 🤓.
