The thing is... the scariest part of sleeping is when you suddenly open your eyes... in the dark. That’s when I saw it—something terrifying. My first thought was to run. But I couldn’t... I couldn’t feel my legs—a scary ordeal for an eleven-year-old girl. That was the night I first believed they existed. I couldn’t imagine anything more frightening.
