I loved the plot, it was an easy and quick read with vampires, werewolf’s, fae, paranormal etc. I gave it 3 stars because there are SO many typos/grammatical error. It seems like the author used voice-to-text and never proof read the entire series. I also felt like a lot of the Lorenas world was stolen from another series I read 15+ years ago. That being said, I still enjoyed the books and read all 9 of them.
If you are into paranormal and MFM interactions you will absolutely love this one . It has many characters and I’m not telling you who winds up with who . But I’m telling ourselves that you will not be able to put this book down . It’s amazing and I totally loved it. This is also the first book I’ve read by this Author and it will not be the last 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟😍📚
I enjoyed this series and I love the characters while i wish the last chapter in the last book was more and not this is what happened I wouldn’t have liked to see it played out it was a great series. I hope we get more of these characters.
1. Sons of Vlad (Lorena Quinn 1) I was in the mood for something different. Something within my wheelbase of preferences but something I hadn't read in a while and wouldn't know what to expect. I love Vampire stories and since I'd never read any of Samantha Snow's books and "The House of Vampires" series continues to be put in my line of sight as a recommendation, I thought, "Why not?" Turns out, this is familiar territory, and yet not. A slow burn and yet the action and drama are so intense it keeps my mind occupied rather than dwelling on who and when Lorena will choose. And even though there is an intense drama to the storyline there is a light-hearted humor, an almost comic relief, that keeps things from being overwhelming with intensity. The world-building kept the motion picture in my mind playing non-stop, the characters are 3D and perfectly flawed, and the plot is perpetually hanging over everything that happens. It's funny, thrilling, and has so much chemistry bouncing between these characters it just left me wanting more. And more I shall have as I dive into the second book. If you haven't started this series yet, by all means, pick it up and give it a go. If you enjoy a phenomenal Vampire tale, the first book won't disappoint.
2. Sons of Vlad: The Twist (Lorena Quinn 2) What a rollercoaster ride of twists and turns MS. Snow has taken me on with this second book in the "House of Vampires". I've quickly become addicted to this series. Three Vampires turn into four, a Wizard Cult, Witches, shifters, a necromancer, and a Somniamancer. I felt like one of the threads in the weave of magic being pulled along until the end …. And I have to say, I hated the end!! I think for a minute my heart broke. I'm going to have to jump into the next book, immediately.
3. Sons of Vlad: The Choice (Lorena Quinn 3) 'The Choice' is the third book in Samantha Snow's "House of Vampires" series. Lorena, a necromancer, is the holder of the Prophecy running through her veins. In order to bring magic back to the world she must bear a child from the blood of Vlad the Impaler. Her problem, among others, is she wants to love the person she chooses, not have them forced on her. With four sons to choose from, I had expected to encounter at least some physical chemistry by now but Ms. Snow holds the crown for the longest slow burn I've ever read. The storyline is intriguing with all the twists and turns of a plot worthy to hold the description of good vs. evil. I'm onto book four soon.
I reviewed Book 1 as a stand alone before I realized there were trilogies.
Book 2 - Okay, I returned the KU and have read 4 and am reading 5 so my memory has already gone kaput. I do recall that Lorena is very much favoring Wei which causes Dmitri to go postal and attack him. This pretty much turns Lorena off and additionally makes her wary of Dmitri. In either this book or the next she discovers that Connie is her half sister who is brainwashed by the cult run by Connie’s father and their mutual mother. I think this is the book where she rescues Zane.
Book 3 - I’m still relying on imperfect memory. Lorena manages to recruit Vlad and his other offspring into a showdown with her mother’s cult. Her father has returned to his witchy roots and has determined that Wei is not dead. Vlad feels he is the perfect candidate to be the baby daddy to fulfill the prophecy. One of his wives disagrees - adamantly - and tries to off Lorena. Will Lorena manage to save Wei? No sex yet which is kind of disappointing since the prophesy baby is the whole point of the story.
This book was crazy intense from the beginning to the end. So much chaos and mayhem is difficult keeping up. Overall, the story line holds merit, however, the audiobook leaves a lot to be desired. The narrator, Charlie Boswell is a very poor choice as the narrator. Especially since the main character is a female. Seriously, it's absurd top have a male narrate. Also there is no character changes in the narration and very little realistic emotion expressed. What just happened? I'm in shock! I have no words for what had happened. This storyline is going no where I thought it would. The deception and violence is harsh. I'm overwhelmed for Lorena. I just don't know where this goes from here.
Book 2
My only complaint is the narration as was the same for the first book. Poor choice of a narrator for a female lead.
Book 3
Amazing ending to a fabulous trilogy! I wish there was more to the end. ...a follow up to the magic of the world. I absolutely loved how things ended with the brothers!
Holy shiznet! !! This was awesome. Lorena is one funny, quirky, strong female. I love her, I wish I was her. :) All of the vamps were so Gr8. Alan, so hot & sexy, & French. Dmitri, so macho yet with a sensitive side. Wei, oh he's so passionate, intense, & snarky, just like you'd expect from a master of martial arts. Zane, sexy, strong, & silent type. Those are just the guys Lorena has to choose from. Oh this story was so interesting to read, I could barely put it down. This is my first read with Ms. Snow, but it won't be my last. I recommend this read. 5 Thumbs up
Ugh. This is described as "Twilight for adults". No, this is Twilight for Teens. I made it halfway through the second book and I just couldn't do it anymore. The FMC says, "What the heck...." over and over again and I don't think there's been one cuss word anywhere. Steam? Nowhere to be found. The story goes on and on and on...with no real forward motion. I was bored to tears. I can't believe there's so many books to this story and how any adult looking for any kind of adult entertainment can get through them all. Don't waste your time.
I received the complete trilogy in a paperback book. It is easy to tell that this was originally written/released as an e-reader book. However, if you can get past the poor editing, it is a good trilogy. There is a good plot to this trilogy, and I went into it thinking it would be a straightforward storyline. Every time I started to think I had things figured out, wham, there was another twist. It draws you in with the likable characters, fast pace, and ever evolving story.
These three stories are even better when read all together, the wacky storyline with serious consequences. The poor girl goes to claim an inheritance to find out she's got to stay for six months and have a mythical baby with a vampire to bring magic back to the world.
This was my first read from Samantha Snow. The trilogy was a cute story. I do not like spoilers so I will not spill who Lorena ends up with, but her character is funny, stubborn, quirky and knows what she wants even if she is unsure of how to get there. I love vampires stories and this one with a bit of romance mixed in the crazy tale is definitely a good read.
I absolutely loved this book, the story is fabulous, being to end. When a story makes me laugh ,makes makes me cry, and gives me a feel good ,Happy ending, .
It is a story I put in my special notebook for MY Read Again Stories.. This is a Series , And Author you Won't want to miss. <3.
I absolutely loved the storyline of this book. Having these magical creatures work together to bring magic back into the world. Sacrifices that were made because of a prophecy that was foretold, family being torn apart due to it as well. So much is revealed in the final book, it's worth getting this collection to have each at your fingertips.
Please save yourself the trouble. This series is very poorly written and chock full of grammatical errors. I don't mean things like typos and verb tense - well not just those things. Some of the grammatical errors make it impossible to understand what on earth the author is talking about and it only gets worse as the series progresses.
These books had so much potential, with an exciting plot and interesting characters, sadly there are so many typos and errors they make for some tricky reading. I will read the next box set to see if there is any improvement. There really needs some good editing and proof reading to bring these books up to scratch, I'm glad this is on KU I would not be happy if I had bought them.
Unfortunately this book is cringe like I expected. The writing style is giving Wattpad and there are typos. The main characters entire personality is, “I’m not like other girls”. The three vampire she’s supposed to choose from her either annoying or don’t want her. I’ve been searching for the perfect vampire book and nothing had topped the classic twilight or true blood.
If you enjoy the wide world of paranormal beings, you will love this trilogy. Clever story line and rich character details. I enjoyed our heroine’s self-discovery bumpy road to a startling realization. All in all a very enjoyable read and I learned a lot about the varied worlds of witches.
This was a great read. Action along with the adventure and the suspense. Enjoyed immensely. By the time I realized this book had no sex, I was done. What's next?
I read the entire trilogy in 2 days. I so enjoyed the snark, wit and humour of the main character. Her unique perspective on life was very refreshing. I hope there will be another series continuing the story.
Wow what a series this has been, love how they all flowed throughout until the end. Each of the characters was something else and grew throughout. The storylines were gripping and thrilling throughout. I was totally hooked with this set of books.
I can't even bring myself to go any farther. This story has been so difficult to finish. It just drags. I made myself finish this set but there are at least 3 more books. Sorry I cant.
