Camila

Loving this series. Audio re-read

Mason is a hot angry alpha who has it in for Camila. They used to be best friends, but when his life fell apart he blamed her. Now he has a useless mum and younger siblings to consider. He has too much responsibility and not enough fun in his life. When Cami’s boyfriend starts being a jerk Mason can’t keep his mouth shut. Now they are back at each other’s throats and it’s about to heat up.

Enemies to lovers book with adult material. It’s set in America high school. The chemistry is hot and the tension is intense.

Oh boy this was so longgggg, I'm glad it's over. It was better than the first book though.

Mason's reason for hating Camilla makes a bit more sense than Jake's in the previous book. I could see it happening since he was a younger teenager when it all went down, so he started blaming her because he didn't have anyone else to blame.

What I don't like, is that when Noah and Camilla separated, Mason didn't even wait before pouncing on her. And Camilla may have been fine with it in the moment, but he didn't even ask her if that was okay, he just went for it.

There was also unnecessary drama that made my headache worse, but eventually it sorted itself out. These two are at least somewhat less toxic than Amelie and Jake were.

In other news, we finally found out (near the end, mind you) who drugged Amelie and it wasn't Shane, yay!! I'm looking forward to his story now (if he did get one) because he deserves to be happy.

The next story is Jake and Mason's friend Ethan with the new girl Raelynn, so one of the stories after that could be Shane's? Fingers crossed.

I like Raelynn from what we've seen of her, she's more my type of character than the rest so we'll see how that will go.

Also because Camilla was the main character here instead of Amelie everyone's horniness was toned down. The whole town doesn't want to get into her pants the way they did into Amelie's which is refreshing.

The last thing I have to mention, and I noticed it in the first book as well, is that all the adults in this series seem to be totally okay with whatever their kids want to do at any given time. There's absolutely no conflict.

Even at school, they fight, skip school, or in Thorn when Jake pushed you know who and she broke her ankle...no repercussions? I get that the football team rules the school, but surely AT LEAST ONE ADULT ought to do something? Anything???

P. S. There's still no Stella two books in...there's five more to go and I'm hoping she'll start showing up in the next one because I feel like her and Raelynn would be good friends.

Paine is book two in the Rosewood High Series by Tracy Lorraine. After reading book 1 Thorn i was instantly intrigued by the little snipets we got of Mason and Camilla and there hatred for each other and I just new their story was going to be good and I was definitely not disappointed

Growing up next door to each other Camilla and Mason were inseparable and always there for each other no matter what until something happens that turns Mason's life inside out and he is left hating the family who he felt caused it all. Camilla's family. Soon their friendship turns to hate with Mason constantly taking his frustrations out on Camilla. But when things start going wrong in Camilla's perfect life would he still be willing to care for the girl who was once his whole world

This story was such an addictive read. I loved the constant back and forth, push and pull between Camilla and Mason. You could really tell how conflicted these two were about each other yet neither was willing to gice up or give in. Their chemistry was intense and the banter was on point. I loved Mason so much and listening to him struggle with everything he was dealing with was heart breaking at times and even when he was acting in a way that frustrated me I could still see the good in him and how loyal and caring he was

Like any new adult bully/enemies to lovers book this story has a lot of angst as well as OW/OM drama but honestly I didnt mind it. I actually enjoyed all the drama in this story and even though he could be horrible at times Mason also made me swoon

▪▪▪ "underneath all my hate and frustration at the world is still the little boy who would do anything for his girl." ▪▪▪

I also really loved how we got the unresolved storyline from Thorn carried over in Paine and we got the answers we were waiting for as well as some snippets of what to come next in Savage (book 3) and I can't wait for it

Heroine has a boyfriend, loves him so much but still lusting after our hero . Thinking about him all the time .
She's emotionally cheating on her boyfriend. Even though he cheated on her we khew that but She didn't .

She even danced with a football player and and he was grinding against her.

“Did someone say dance?” Zayn calls. I look back to see him bouncing toward us like an overexcited puppy, but the heated stare coming from behind him that burns into me soon catches my attention.
I knew coming here was a bad idea. It’s a real shame that I’m already too drunk to really care or do anything about it.
Amalie drags me in front of her, and, with our hands locked together, we start moving to the music. Zayn comes up behind me, places his hands on my hips and joins in. I should push him away. I should be thinking about Noah, but in that moment, all I think about and feel is the beat of the music pounding through me and the way my body moves.
One song blurs into another. Zayn continues to grind behind me,

And then this is her reaction when her boyfriend kissed her and danced with her

because the next thing I know, I’m back on the dance floor moving against Noah. My body follows orders but for some reason my brain screams that I shouldn’t be doing this.
Why isn’t it as fun as when I was dancing with Zayn?

After this I stopped liking her and didn't care about the story .
Not to mention the immature slut jock hero .

LOVING THIS SERIES! Paine is book two in the Rosewood series. This high school, enemies-to-lover's romance is jam packed with feels, angst, drama and steamy hot goodness. The story-line was gripping, intense and explosively emotional. I literally could not inhale the words fast enough. I absolutely loved it! Add in the delicious, drive-you-insane slow burn that fires to life between Mason and Camila, and it is simply EVERYTHING. Five stars all the way around.

It never used to be like this. I'd have given my life for this girl in a heartbeat. But then she had a hand in ruining my life and everything changed.

Wow! I loved Jake, but Mason ruined me. I cried my eyes out so many times I lost count. What an emotional ride! The angst, the emotion... It was breaking my heart.

Just downright beautiful!

✨✨✨All this best friends to enemies to lovers held a special place in my reading list.
Their connection was undeniable since the previous book of the series , Camila e Mason were a bomb set to explode in any minute .
And now that it finally did , nothing will be the same, in a good way this time...
I loved how Mason could bring out a total different part of cami that she didn't know to have.
All that scenes of angst and deprived sexual tension made this book impossible to put down , you need to know like you need air to breathe what will happen next ...✨✨✨✨
SO I GAVE IT 4.75 STARS⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

THIS BOOK! I honestly loved Thorn, but he doesn’t compare to Paine, in my eyes. If you are a fan of childhood best friend/bully romance, then you need to read this book. Fair warning though, I’m claiming Mason! 😉

Another fantastic addition to this already so very addictive series.

Camilla and Mason get their story and it is everything I wanted and more... okay, so I wasn’t sure how these two would get their s*%t together and how the author would spin this... I loved the angst in this story and there is always something extra special about Friends To Enemies To Lovers.

Camilla was already a girl I loved from book one in this series, being bestie to Amalie. I found myself loving Mason way more than I anticipated, because he seemed so callous at times but conflicted all the same when it came to Camilla.

I did feel like his reasons for falling out and abandoning his friendship with Cami not fully plausible but looking back, in the eyes of a 14 yo it is very much true to age... and I’m loving this about this series. Yes there are a ton of issues that kids their age shouldn’t have to deal with but that is not to say like situations can’t exist.

Again, Tracy Lorraine created the right balance of angst, steam, and suspense in this story. Thank goodness for series binges- I’m so ready for Savage now!!

4.5 ANGSTY STARS.

4 stars!!

Paine is book 2 in Tracy Lorraine’s Rosewood High series and it delivers the teen angst in spades! This is a friends-to enemies-to lovers romance and I loved the way it progressed! From book 1 we already knew that there was a long history between Mason and Camila, they grew up as neighbors and best friends until age 14 when something fractured that friendship.

At first I was a little angry with Mason for punishing Camila over something that was completely out of her control! But really...he feels pain every time he looks at her and can’t help but let that morphe into hate.

Mason brings the swoon while still managing to be an asshole. He both hates and cares for Camila. The chemistry and sexual tension between these two is pretty damn delicious! I loved watching (reading?) them struggle with their memories of friendship, current feelings of hate and then the longing for something more with each other.

I love that the alternating POVs back track a bit, we get the new POV chapter from a few scenes behind leading up to where the last POV chapter left off. This stood out to me as something different that I really liked (Thorn was done this way as well!). Maybe other authors have done this and I just never noticed it before?! I don’t know.

This is one bully-ish blend of the enemies to lovers trope that everyone can enjoy.

Disclaimer: I received an Advance Reader Copy at no cost from the publisher/author. All opinions in my review are my own.

From the bits and pieces of Mason and Camila that we got in the first book of this series, I knew that their story was going to be special. I am really glad that I decided to continue this series because I was really impressed with this book.

When I read the first book in this series I didn't fall in love with the writing style. I can't say the same for this book. Where I felt that there was a spark missing from the storytelling in the first book, this book really delivered. The narration was smooth, inviting, and engaging. I enjoyed the plot of this book. It was a very emotional story that I couldn't read fast enough.

Mason and Camila were just stellar characters. I was immediately drawn in by their personalities. They were so likable and I connected with them straight away. I loved how much depth the characters had. The secondary characters in this book are great. I loved seeing the characters from the first book. Having so many awesome secondary characters added so much weight to the story.

I loved this romance so much. I am such a fan of the childhood friends to lovers trope and the author really pulled it off well in this book. The depth of the emotional connection between Mason and Camila was so evident. They had such electric chemistry. They were so right for each other and everyone saw it.

While I suppose it doesn't much matter, I did notice many British English phrases and words throughout the book that an Amerian would not say or use. It only bothered me because I knew that story was set in America. It just brought the world-building down a few pegs for me.

Overall, this is a raw and emotional story that enchanted me from the first page. I really fell in deep with these characters and I am so thrilled to read the next book in this series. Bring on Ethan's story!

Paine is filled with all the angst and emotion that you expect in a YA enemies-to-lovers romance. Mason and Camila were best friends for years until a few unfortunate events tore them apart. He may hate Camila, but Mason will stop at nothing to protect her. His brain and his heart conflict and he struggles to recognize what he really wants and needs. I devoured this book, even though it is a beast at over 400 pages long. I really enjoyed it and look forward to more in the Rosewood series!

I love these High School Bully romances from Tracy Lorraine. While this wasn't as intense as 'Thorn' it still had plenty of twists and turns that kept me engrossed from start to finish. You can't help but feel sorry for poor old Mason. While there have been plenty of misunderstandings for the past four years, the boy deserves a break. He's breaking his back to keep his family together, and the only girl he's ever had eyes for currently has a boyfriend.

That can't end well, can it?

Another 10/10 for me. Loved it.

I liked this even less than book one and I'm surprised. Camila came off spoiled and entitled. I was through with her soon after we started reading in her POV. Mason was okay, better than Jake, but still okay.

Besides Camila herself, my problem was that this could have been solved with a conversation. There was so much unnecessary drama and back and forth going on. It got tiring real fast.

The next book is about Ethan and he already threw his life in the trash, so I don't know if I'm up for reading about him and his soon to be stepsister.

Hola corazones lectores😘

Tracy Lorraine blew me away with this book. She's a new to me author and I will definitely be reading more of her work. Mason and Camilla have a long history, but due to events beyond their control, their friendship suffers. I loved the angst and drama between the two and their chemistry was off the charts.

If you enjoy bully romances and my favorite trope, enemies to lovers, then you'll definitely want to read this. This is the second book in the Rosewood Series, but can be read as a standalone. PAINE by Tracy Lorraine is an EPIC read and will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ARISTOCRACY!!!

Tracy had me falling for Jake Thorn's charm with the previous book in this series but with Paine she managed to completely steal my heart. Mason was everything I had expected and more. There were so many faces to this loving boy who was despicable to only one person... his old best friend and love, Cami.

We knew from Thorn that these two had been bestfriends when they were little and then some unknown thing happened and they became public enemies. In Paine, we get all the answers to our burning questions and wow the pain and heartache that surrounds that one event totally hit me.

Mason lost so much in one day and I felt so much of his pain and the heavy responsibility he carried since that day onwards, not because he was guilty but because he suddenly became responsible for keeping his family above water and that took such a toll on him and his dreams. Everything regarding Mason's situation really made me so sad and mad for him. Even more so later on when Tracy managed to break my heart, I might have teared up a lot in some of those chapters.

Even with all the BS he dealt with and responsibility he had to carry, all his hate towards Cami was unwarranted. Cami carried no blame for what had happened but that 13 yo boy who lost so much in one day prefered to lose his bestfriend at his own choice than lose her later at hers. Guys my heart couldn't take it. The hateful actions towards Cami... you could see that he actually was trying to help her, she just didn't want to see it because she too was clouded by his hate towards her.

When Mason's living situation goes from bad to worst, the unthinkable happens.. they move in next door and gosh watching these two live together trying to hate each other but actually just wanting to jump each other's bones... it was entertaining. They loved being complete jerks to each other and when that passion burned in closed corners it became another energy all together. I loved watching them give in, talking it all out and being honest about their real feelings.

To be honest, I just really loved these two. Their story was complex, emotional and super angsty. It was an enemies to lovers that had has much heart as hatred. Cami and Mason will hit you right in the feels at times. It was also really nice to see Jake and Amelie again and see how happy and in love they were. And GOSH Ethan man... he was breaking my heart in this one too... I cannot wait for his book... specially after the bomb Tracy dropped at the end of this book!

If you loved Thorn than you gotta read this one because I'm 99,9% sure you'll love Paine so much more. I know I did! And if you haven't picked up this series, you have to (!!), specially if you enjoy bully, enemies or friends to lovers.

This book is the second in this series the Rosewood High Series. I absolutely loved reading it and it was a fantastic follow on from Thorn. This is a real enemies to lovers story and a fantastic book.

Book #1 Thorn
Book #2 Paine

This is Mason and Camila story and after reading about them in the first book you will be desperate to read about them next. The author really made you very intrigued about them in the first book and seeing how there journey plays out.

These two had been best friends for years and told each other everything and leaned on one another too, that is until one day something happened that parted them.
Mason has had things pretty tough since his father left and he has been trying to juggle everything from school, his brothers and paying the bills, its very tough, he blames her family for it all.
Camlia has led quite a comfortable life and she has just tried to carry on without Mason and live her life but its hard for her to seeing him everyday. The thing is Cami bear has also had things tough and with the heat building between them both you will not be able to take your eyes of of them both.

I couldn't wait to read the next book in this series and I truly loved these characters. They have such a strong connection and even though he hates her he will protect her no matter what and I love that. Mason just needed someone to be there for him to understand. He is a great guy deep down and will do anything for the people he loves and I truly felt for him in parts.

I also loved seeing the old characters to and seeing how they are now is awesome. This author really knows how to write a fanatic story and brilliant characters that the reader will really connect and invest in. I was completely gripped from beginning to end and loved every minute of this book, the drama, the love and all the steam. This story really flows and I love this authors writing style and I cannot wait to get my hands on book #3 in the series and carry on at Rosewood High.

Paine by Tracy Lorraine is the second book in the Rosewood series and boy is it a page-turner. The book focuses on the story of Camilla and Mason who used to be childhood friends but then something happens which makes both of their lives spin out of control and puts Camilla in the cross-hairs of Mason. Family misunderstandings, communication errors and general angst seems to throw these two characters for a loop and they don’t know whether they are better as enemies or lovers.

The story is good as it tells you what has happened in the past to make these two characters the way they are. There is certainly a lot of angst and passion between the two characters and you never quite know if they are going to work out their differences in the book. Mason was a great character and just seemed to have so much going on. In one way I felt sorry for him as he tried his hardest with Camilla but she never seemed to get where he was coming from for me. Camilla was a good character but sometimes I felt like she was quite naive and trusting until things were literally shoved in her face.

There are a lot of twist and turns in this story and at point it could be quite heart-breaking as well as steamy. Characters from the first book also make an entrance and seem to pull the whole story together. The author just has a way of story-telling which is really fluid and makes you want to continue reading.

This is definitely a must-read series and I can’t wait for the next one that will hopefully be coming soon. If you like steamy, enemies to lovers, NA books then Tracy Lorraine is an author you need to be reading!

Mason and Camila were best friends until they were 14 years old and something happened that made Mason's dad walk away from his family. Mason blamed Camila and her family so he walked away from Camila and made his hostility towards her well known over the next four years. And just when things couldn't get any worse Mason's mom looses her job, they are forced to move out of their home and their only option is to move into Camila's house. Because that won't be awkward.

I didn't have the best feelings about Camila from Thorn so I was worried about this one but I had to read it because Mason totally intrigued me and I needed his story. And it did not disappoint. Mason was such an amazing guy who loved his family and would do anything for them. Even give up everything he loves. Poor guy is carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders while still trying to be there for his friends and trying to excel at school/football. At first I still didn't really care for Camila. She was oblivious or naive when it came to a lot of things and that just annoyed me. But I respected how she never backed down from Mason. She always got in his face when he tried to pull his antics. I loved when she threw it in face that his issues were never about her or them but he made it that way and threw them away in doing so. It was a pretty epic speech. And even though he treated her like poop she would always stick up for him. She ended up growing on me and I think her and Mason are perfect together. Another great one from Tracy and I can't wait for Savage. I know it will be a good one.

Now four years later, after seeing Jake and Amalie together, something has changed in Mason and he wants that with Camila - that's if he can get over himself and she can realize that deep under his hateful emotions he loves her. Also, it doesn't help that Camila has a boyfriend at the moment - Noah, though she is about to discover that it's not just Jocks Geeks too that can stray and cheat with cheerleaders.
