Once more, Gilda considers leaving the karate school to work for her friend Happy (no one has ever called him Harvey). When three men rob Happy Harvey’s Hangover Hut killing the woman at the front counter, Gilda is stunned to think that could have been her. Was this a mere robbery, or does someone have a vendetta against Happy, including his good friend Gary del Garda? The evidence keeps piling up while both her mother and another karate instructor come to town bearing secrets that may cost Gilda the life she loves in Sandstone Cove.

I really enjoyed this cozy mystery. The characters are wonderful, both the old familiar ones and the new additions, and I was really pulled in by the developing relationship between Kane and Gilda. I've read the other Gilda Wright mystery books so this was intriguing to see how Kane and Gilda's friendship would progress. Kane makes a great "Watson" to Gilda's "Sherlock". There are definitely a lot of twists and turns. You're left to wonder "Who done it?" right up to the highly dangerous end. Well done. I wonder if Kane and Gilda will end up opening their own private eye agency in future? I think they would make a great team.
This was a well written book. And a good who-done it mystery. You never knew what would happen next. It was very descriptive and entertaining. Thoroughly enjoyed reading this great book!!
Diane is a friend of mine. I enjoy her stories. I have to say I did find myself confused at times, perhaps too many characters. I am sure any cozy mystery reader would enjoy this book.
Lots of relationship stuff surrounding a dojo. Slow moving but well written. The protagonist basically solves the crime for the the lazy police. Gilda rocks!
