I have read the Dutch translation.
A very detailed book about salmon. It touches on the history of salmon, evolution and the use of salmon nowadays. The author is based in Norway but travels around the world to get more insights into salmon production. It's backed up by fishermen, scientists and other knowledgable people. It's enjoyable if you love fish and biology books, I think it's not really for a casual reader of non-fiction.

Interesting enough, with a fun author who went all out for this book. Sadly it was not entirely what I hoped it would be which is where the loss of points comes from. Also I’m not THAT into fish, but it is always fun to learn about something I don’t know a lot about.

I bought it because I thought “lol a book about salmon, oh wow it’s half off. Okay I’ll get it” so with that in mind it was good enough.

I would recommend it for fishlovers, or people with wide interests overall. 6/10
