Mythological fiction as a genre has always fascinated me. Why I say that? Since the very beginning of my reading days, my parents would buy interesting mythological books, comics and I would sit and read till the last word.

Aham is the first part of the Trilogy. It is a book that depicts origin of the world by Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh. The plot revolves around Rekhyts at war with demons, djinns and daayans (good vs evil). Rekhyts is a clan created to safeguard humans from demons. It portrays spirits, spells, magic and wars. A past that has a cascading effect on the present and how two clans are affected. It is a story of thrill, adventure and action.

The book has a fast paced story that keeps you vigilant with an intriguing plot that is highly engrossing. Even though the world is unreal, the characters are relatable due their inherent flaws. There is enough meat in portrayal of the secondary characters as well. The narration is crisp and makes you visualise the world depicted in the story. Overall, it has a strong narrative style which is distinct and tasteful.

Language of the book is easy and that makes it available for a wider readership. Aham is a delight for the fans of fantasy/mythological fiction/thriller genre. Though the book doesn’t give a closure as it being the first part of trilogy, still it is quite wholesome. I hope and wish the remaining parts are as enthralling as this one. The cover of the book can be better.

I would definitely recommend this book.

It's one of the most amazing books I have ever read full of action, adventure, motivation, emotions and suspense.

It's about how the elders, the most superior gods created humans and spirits by their amazing powers.

But unknowingly their powers created an other race which is demons.

As, the spirits had more powers and skills than humans, they made humans to work for them. The king of spirits Indresh was very powerful but not an enlightened being.

On the other hand demons were living their life happily unaware of even excitence of spirits and humans.

Now, something happens due to the dark side of king Indresh.

And then, demons become the permanent enemies of spirits and humans. This urge of taking revenge in demons made humans very afraid of them.

So, the elders create a fourth race the Rekhyts to save humans from the demons.

So, what happened with demons which made them enemies of spirits and humans ?

Why demon princess Vaanee makes humans her target ?

And how will the Rekhyts save humans ?
Atlast who will win in this battle of good and bad means demons versus Rekhyts ?

My friends, read this book to find answers of all these questions.

Trust me guys the amazing way of presenting the content, the engaging writing and everything in this book is really amazing.

If you are looking for a book full of action, adventure, motivation and suspense. Then, just go with it guys.

It will show you that no one is bad from starting.

It's some conditions and misunderstandings which make people really negative and revengeful.

This book will make you realize that how the power plays a very important rule in our life. And that how with power comes the responsibility.

Atlast it will make you realize that with the constant efforts and hardwork you can achieve anything.

If you love reading books and wants to become really successful and happy then, read this book guys.

My ratings :- 5/5

The demons were extremely fascinated by Indresh and his band of humans. Never before had they set eyes upon creatures like them, and they were eager to share thoughts and tales with them. Indresh, who was a master of manipulation and deception, offered the demons riches beyond measure and lands beyond all reckoning. Through a piece of magic, he showed Iraivan the kingdom of the spirits, and the riches that they possessed.
Really the story line is descriptive with such vigour it caught my interest. Just check the above lines once. .

I was looking for an engrossing story for my trip and I choose Aham which was best selection for trip . I got completely engaged that I didn't notice three main station passed away. Language of story is easy to understand and connecting. Starting from Prologue till chapter 14 I got transferred in another land. Plot is totally amazing 10/10 for that no disclosures here read the story( #no spoilers). In order to keep yourself intact with the story one should remember characters Very well cause there are many characters, However story doesn't goes off track because of this. So if you are going on trip then let's this book accompany you.

Here are some lines from story

1)Well, my dear boy, if you had spent more time using your brains rather than adding inches to your overgrown arms, you would actually be capable of appreciating the finesse behind engineering

2) I must do this. We have been wronged at every turn. From our very birth, others have mistrusted and treated demons with disdain. It is time they learn to fear and respect us. I have to do this. For Samakhya.

3) This is the only way. And a world without Spirits will be a better world for them too.

4) “This victory belongs to you as much as anyone else,” Advay said, in a deep voice.

To read is to imagine, beyond the reality and beyond the world we know that exists. This book is one such read, that'll take you into the world of war, demons, warriors and much more.
The book doesn't have a great character development, but the character development isn't that bad, and doesn't give any confusion at any point. There are a lot of characters in it, and even after that, the characters doesn't get confused and there's a nice interlink between each character. The Protagonist, Rwiju, has a great character, and a nice role in the plot. I like the way the plot developed, and all those fights, demons and all the presence, gave me a different feeling towards the book, and what made me glad and happy is that this fantasy is from an Indian Author. I believe this isn't the author's first book, and if it is, then it's a great book and this book needs recognition.
Now Coming to the cover, the cover is intriguing and attractive.
The book is fast paced, and gives a nail biting, engrossing read. Overall a well recommended read.

‘Aham’ by Saurabh Thakur is a mythological fiction is based on how the Universe was created by Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh. We get to see a new clan named Rekhtys who is at war with Djinns, Daayans, and Demons to save humans.

The plot of the story is very unique and well developed. The war between the clans is described in such a manner that the readers will feel as if it is going in front of their eyes.

The characters are well developed and their personalities can be seen while reading the book. Each character is trying their level best to accomplish tasks and to win over the other clan and while all this is happening we get to see their different personalities.

The narration will keep the readers on the edge all through the book. The fight scenes and the various mysterious facts are described excellently. There are plot twists throughout the book and each page has something to offer to the readers.

Language is simple and lucid but some might find it a bit complex or difficult.

The cover page and the title of the book is apt to the story.

Overall, I enjoyed reading this book a lot and would surely recommend it to someone who’s looking forward to read mythological fictions.

Book:Aham Trilogy
Author: Saurabh Thakur
Review:
Mythological fiction are always interesting to read, as they have really a beautiful story existing. Revenge, hate and justice often get entangled with each other, and in the process, what is right often gets confusing. And that forms the crux of Aham. The story revolves around three namely demon princess, Vaanee and a Rekhyt warrior, Rwiju through thicks and thins. To all their confusions answers lie within.
What I liked:
1.The cover is raw depicting a sword ,it acts as hint to the story line. The title is apt to the story.
2.Author’s work in crafting the story in an interesting way is appreciated. It is a short read that takes the readers to a different visual world.
3.The involvement of many characters gives a smooth ending to the story. The war scenes are vividly described, which is a plus to the overall work. The plot as well as characters are developed well.
4.The language is lucid. The narration keeps the readers hooked.

Conclusion:
I would rate it 4/5
To the ones who love reading mythological fiction and short fantasy read this book is recommended.

Blurb- ‘Revenge, hate and justice often get entangled with each other, and in the process, what is right often gets confusing. And that forms the crux of Aham, where the lives of a demon princess, Vaanee and a Rekhyt warrior, Rwiju are set to collide with each other.

The book is about a world of two clans, Rekhtys at war with the demons, daayans and djinns and so more.

The first thing which drew my attention was the cover design itself. It’s really fitting for the story and eye-catching. I don’t know, but I really love mythological and fantasy type series, they really tickle one’s imagination for sure.

Another bonus point is this book comes from an Indian author’s mind, really creative with nice imagination power.

Saurabh Thakur with his mythological creature and gripping storyline will definitely keep you hooked.
Language is fluid and easily understandable. If you are a voracious reader like me, you will finish this book in 2 days. It’s really that good. I promise.

Title: The Battlefield

Everything is fair in Love and War. The book justify this prominent saying but for the latter. "Aham", title in itself is appealing and the cover is icing on the cake. As the sword is on the cover which is a symbol of war or battle, it can be postulated that book might have a subject related to war. I like the title and I appreciate the author that he chose this word of Sanskrit Language for his Book's Name which means "I". If I talk about story, lt is beautiful like it's narration. Language is froward. You will find youself in another world while reading the book. Sometimes it may scare you, sometimes it may persuade you to speculate for the result of war. Apart from all these, I criticise the font in the prologue. I tried hard to manage. Though, the writing (Calligraphy) is good, but the shrinkage of words troubled me. Except this, Whole Book is Magnificent. Overall, A Good Read.

It is an exceptionally well written.. mythological fiction. The central plot revolves around conflicts and complications between Rekhyts and demons. The beginning itself sets a conflict scenarion where there is a demonic activity. Difficulty and friction in relationship between different clans and leaders also plays an important role.

Rekhyts are constantly at war with Djins, Dayans and demons to save humans and this is the basic idea of the book "Aham" the first in the trilogy.
Characters demon princess Vanee, Rekhyt warrior Rwiju and Prayan are developed in a good manner and are equally interesting.
Language is lucid and equally interesting. At some points plots get complicated, but at the same time it add to the strength of the story

I love this book because i can totally imagine each and every character. And while reading if we can imagine we totally feel connected to the book. The war between the demons and the warriors was very exciting. There are many characters in the book which helped to complete the book in a very proper way. The characters Rwiju and Vanee are my favorite character from the book. The book is full of mystery and all this mystery opens up one by one as we start reading more and more. The author has also described the characters very well. The language was a bit tough bt manageable. The cover is beautiful and the name is apt. Narration is good. Recommendations yes

'AHAM' is a captivating story of Vanee, Rwiju and Prayan and the author has done a praiseworthy job in taking his readers into the different world where a new clan Rekhtys is created by elders to safeguard humans from the demons.
Well, this is the first part of the Aham trilogy and if the other two books will be written in this manner then I am sure this book will be loved by n number of people.
The title is apt and it suits the storyline. But the characters are not well developed and as there are many characters the story becomes a little bit confusing.
Narration is steady and fast-paced.

I recommend this book to folklore lovers.

Aham talks about a world of two clans and Rekhtys at war with the demons, daayans and djinns. I usually don't read mythology/ fantasy genre but I enjoyed this one because there was detailing in the characteristics of characters. Physical attributes to the characters gave life to a land I have never been part of. Usually demons and djinns are not my cup of tea but the concept of humans, the reasons for war and the journey really made it an engaging read. If mythology and fantasy is your genre then go for this one.

This book portrays the lives of Spirits, you Demons and Humans, of war and bloodshed, of magic and forbidden spells, of faded past and unsure future. You'll find everything in this book. The author's narration is powerful and keeps the reader's interest peaked. It's neither a slow moving book nor fast, just a convenient pace to suit your needs and leave you wanting for more. The characters are well explained, they've been given due thought to and their presence in the plot makes sense. All in all, it is truly a commendable work of the author.

The story covers the battle between good and evil. Humans, demons and spirits are the major components of the book. Action sequences are well explained and easy to understand for readers. The storyline has good flow without any grammatical errors. I'm not a mythology person but I find this interesting as well as intriguing. The author has a good storytelling talent which he used to build up the characters appropriately.
Overall it is a good read. I would recommend this for any historical fiction lovers.

The book draws its inspiration from the mythological stories of Gods, Humans and Demons. Even the backstory of how the realms came into existence is inspired but has been told in a good manner. This book focusses on Vaanee and her quest for revenge and the parallel storyline establishes the story of Rwiju and the Rekhyts. The author has taken due care to create a world that is believable and the slow and steady pace of establishing facts, which picks up pace as one moves ahead is interesting. The storyline is engaging and captivates the reader to keep on turning the page. Light humor, like that of the dressing sense of the mage keeps the reader hooked to the story. The book ends on an amazing cliffhanger, one that makes the wait for the next book difficult.

Coming to the characters, Saurabh has created some amazing characters, each with their individual features. I loved the character of Vaanee and her steadfast attitude towards her mission. Her leadership and presence of mind gives a very different aura to her. Rwiju is another character who has an air of uncertainty yet is fearless and is quite similar to Vaanee. The author has taken his time and through the scene where the students in the Rekhyts are learning, we get to understand the world that he has created as he introduces the types of demons, transportation system, clans etc.

Overall, Aham promises to be a good trilogy.

This book is the first one in the trilogy. The story revolves around the characters - Vanee, Rwiju, Prayan and Avni. It is basically about the battle between evil and good. The war sequences and fight scenes have been narrated in a very interesting manner. The writing style is good with a decent pace. The language used is simple and easy to understand. I recommend this book to all readers who love mythology, history and fantasy. Although, the book is good, there are certain portions which I felt could have been written in a better way so the reader gets hooked to the book.
Overall 4/5.The blurb is indeed intriguing and would attract the reader to pick this book. The book cover could have been designed better and I felt the cover is unclear and tacky. My favourite characters are Vanee and Rwiju.

The book is a mythological Fiction. It talks about war where one party is keen to avenge on other party, when both of them is having their own safe zones. I let it up to the reader to guess who is going to win.
Author has framed the storyline with very much consciousness and in the end, it was a success storyline.I liked the story which has different side. I liked the character of kischal in the novel.. it has a different name which predicts the book in a different manner.
There are many things which I found to be new like the prologue was really amazing. It is a detailed description which was gripping read to set a perfect mood to read the novel.

I would like to end up my review giving it 5/ 5 and would love to recommend it to all the readers out there.

Deceit is a tool so strong that it can not only cause havoc in lives but can also leave a bitter taste, a taste that can change even the most innocent beings into ogres. Aham has its origin in the story of a deceit that has a cascading effect on the lives of not one but two races. The book while giving us an insight into the true colours of Indresh or Lord Indra as we all know, has us sympathize with the deceived i.e. the demons. Originally not the bad ones the Demons as we see here are a peace-loving race who bear the brunt of their innocence and in the process become embittered so-much-so that they seek revenge and for that, they need to engage the Spirits. Unable to enter Arcadia the realm of the Spirits, on account of a powerful shield set in place by the Elders (The Trimurtis), they look for an alternate route to engage them. That’s when their focus turns to Earth and its residents the Humans. Will the Human race be crushed under the might of the demons or will another secret race the Rekhyts, formed to shield the Humans be able to protect them?...Only a reading of ‘Aham’ the story of a powerful demon princess Vanee out to destroy the Spirits, and Rwiju a Rekhyt with a mysterious past will provide the answers.

Saurab Thakur’s ‘Aham’ is a story of adventure, dare, responsibilities, and action. It is a story that gives the reader a very different picture of the Demons a race much maligned. Here one gets to see their positive side too, their sense of respect and responsibility, their love for peace, and sense of justice. However, it is this love for peace that we come to see costs them dearly and makes them turn to revenge.

Replete with vivid imagery ‘Aham’ sees the character of Vanee grow from that of a simple fun loving demon princess to an all-powerful brutal one, one who knows how to change the odds in her favour and has no qualms in crushing he who dares cross her path with an iron fist. However, what is bound to surprise the reader is the other side of this ruthless demoness. Her sense of justice is awe-inspiring. On the other side, we see a bunch of Rekhyts, their prowess, their strengths and weakness being revealed as the story progresses. Rwiju is one of them whose character is mysterious. Though the reader gets a wee- bit of insight into the mystery shrouding Rwiju, the wait is far from over for ‘Aham’ ends in a cliffhanger. Will the next book in the series clear the mist shrouding Rwiju? …Only time will tell.

What I loved about the book is –

1) The plot- An interesting one. An engrossing one the plot perks up one’s interest in the various races involved especially that of the Rekhyts.
2) The narration- The style being engaging one can visualize the scenes. Not surprising considering that the author is a filmmaker. The training sessions of the Rekhyts reminds one of the martial arts, and their hunts of guerrilla warfare. The spells, the magic, and the action scenes complemented by a strong narrative style make the book thoroughly enjoyable.
3) Characterization- The protagonists, as well as the sub-characters, are fleshed out well. Their strengths and weaknesses make them easily relatable. One can enter their mind and live their emotions.
4) The pace is perfect. There is not a single boring moment, a moment when a yawn escapes your lips.

In short ‘Aham’ is a book that will see you hate the wait for the next in the series. :)

To peruse is to envision, past the truth and past the world we realize that exists. This book is one such read, that will bring you into the universe of war, evil spirits, warriors and considerably more. The book doesn't have an incredible character improvement, yet the character advancement isn't that terrible, and doesn't give any disarray anytime. There are a great deal of characters in it, and much from that point onward, the characters doesn't get confounded and there's a pleasant interlink between each character. The Protagonist, Rwiju, has an incredible character, and a pleasant job in the plot.
I like the manner in which the plot created, and each one of those battles, evil spirits and all the nearness, gave me an alternate inclination towards the book, and what made me happy and cheerful is that this dream is from an Indian Author. I accept this isn't the writer's first book, and on the off chance that it is, at that point it's an extraordinary book and this book needs acknowledgment. Presently Coming to the spread, the spread is fascinating and alluring. The book is quick paced, and gives a nail gnawing, charming read. Generally speaking an all around prescribed read.
Two extraordinary fates are set to crash in a war that will change the request for the universe. Vaanee, an amazing evil presence princess, rouses her family to look for retribution against the Spirits. Be that as it may, the Rekhyts remain in the middle of her mission to expedite the Spirits the front line. Rwiju, a youthful and outstanding Rekhyt warrior with a strange past, holds the way in to this epic war. As turmoil gets ready to overwhelm the universes, will Rwiju have the option to discover the appropriate responses covered up from quite a while ago or will the universes come slamming down around him? Language is clear Characters are intriguing and striking characters. Turns are enthrilling The evil presences were amazingly intrigued by Indresh and his band of people. At no other time had they set eyes upon animals like them, and they were anxious to impart contemplations and stories to them. Indresh, who was an ace of control and trickery, offered the evil presences wealth unfathomable and arrives past all retribution.
Through a bit of enchantment, he indicated Iraivan the realm of the spirits, and the wealth that they had. Actually the story line is clear with such life it got my advantage. Simply check the above lines once..

Most of the present day writers prefer writing about their lives and experiences or whatever observations they have made of the world around them or perhaps the everyday issues that bother a person which makes the readers feel strongly connected to the characters created by the author as they leave a lasting impression on their minds.
Then there are a different stream of writers who try their hand at a completely different category of books. They try to write about wars, battles, combats, Gods, demons and humans. In the gadget free era when brute force and strength of body and soul were main focus, Gods and demons actually appear as characters. This is visible in Nihar Sharma's "The Dark Lord", Vivek Kumar's "Arthala" and now also in Sarabh Thakur's "Aham". Aham comes across as one of the most interesting books due to it's highly provocative imagination and ability to ignite the creative brain of the reader. The book has elements of mythology and fantasy. It is more like an introduction to the fertile imagination of the author which brings him to the A-List of contemporary writers. Thakur has artistically narrated and built up a good number of characters in one book which in itself makes it a landmark in Indian literature writing.
The reader can begin reading the story from the inception of human beings which is captivating enough to invite the reader to flip through the pages and staying glued to the book till the end. There are strong and well developed characters of Vanee and Rekhyt who appear to be lively and realistic to the core. The other characters make their share of contribution and make their mark.
The language of the book is friendly to the vocabulary of the reader and the plotline moves at a fine pace without leaving any scope for the reader to get bored or compel him to leave the book in between. Mythological fiction is one genre that has possibilities of being explored at length in the future and to have "Aham" in the bookshelf is kind of necessary for the lovers of this genre.

Description - Two great destinies are set to collide in a war that will change the order of the universe. Vaanee, a powerful demon princess, rouses her kin to seek revenge against the Spirits. But the Rekhyts stand in between her quest to bring the Spirits on the battlefield. Rwiju, a young and exceptional Rekhyt warrior with a mysterious past, holds the key to this epic war. As chaos prepares to engulf the worlds, will Rwiju be able to find the answers hidden in his past or will the worlds come crashing down around him?

My Point of View:
Damn! The book is filled with witches, demons, dayans & rekhyt warriors. The book is part of a trilogy which means that there are a lot of characters that need to be introduced and for that sake following the story in the start could prove to be a little difficult. But over the course of the book, you as a reader can catch up easily.

The books plot developed beautifully, the cover was gorgeous and apt. The characters could have been a bit better developed but as it is part of a trilogy, I guess it works. The book is easy to read and is fast paced and therefore keeps the reader hooked. The suspense builds up and makes the book a bit boring at times but it makes up for it all in the way the book progresses.

Blurb -
At first, there were the Elders - who create the Spirits. From the Spirits come the Demons & Humans. And then ofcourse the fight for superiority over the other ensues and thus their life in peace goes away. So to keep it from escalating, the Elders give different realms to each - Arcadia for the Spirits and Netherworld for Demons & Earth for Humans. And further to protect the humans, a new race of warriors called Rekhyts have been created.

This book is all about how the war between them all ensues. The end of the book clearly signifies the start of another, so am eagerly waiting for the next one.

This book is for all those who love action and fantasy.

Aham is a makeover of an age-old demon and deities tale with the twist of the Rekhyt clan. It is a warrior clan created by Trimurti (or Elders) to save the helpless earthlings who were bound to be sandwiched between the animosity of demons and deities.

The storyline is solid. The author has used logic and reasoning to fit his imagination effortlessly without going out of tune. His explanations were fresh and in sync with the well-known tale.

The author used various voices to narrate the story of protagonist Rwiju and antagonist Vanee. The focus was on the latter's rise to power. Both are warriors of equal caliber, and it will be interesting to see how their story turns out.

What I loved about the book were the action and fighting scenes between Rekhyats and demons. The use of magic and technology added a novelty factor. The author poured his creativity and infused life into action scenes.

While the action was superb in the story, the imbalance between narration and dialogue bogged down the story. Conversations were scant and vague and not so engaging. Unnecessary, ramblings, and weeds overloaded the story. I missed the presence of an evocative narrative voice that would have strongly connected me to the pain and internal turmoils of the lead characters.

A complex chain of events was missing. No surprises or tangible twists were awaiting you to blow away your mind. A sense of mystery or urgency was lacking that could keep you glued to the book with wide eyes. You can easily predict what will happen next. I have a fair bit of hunch where the story would be progressing in the second part.

Beginners or tween readers who want to level up will enjoy the book.
