When I picked this up it was because I needed a good quick read before bed. I didn't realize it was a Daddy kink book so I was more than pleasantly surprised. In fact, this is quite honestly the most well done daddy kink book that I have personally ever read.
“Are there frilly, little girl panties under this skirt, Alice?”
Alice is a fully formed character. An actual, successful, woman! Not a 10 year old trapped in a woman's body. I really don't enjoy those DD/Lg books. This is something different. She acts like and is an adult but their preferred sexual style is Daddy kink. That is the way to do it! Be young, vulnerable, and role play in the bedroom. Be an actual person in your daily life! Jessa Kane got this 100% right for me.
"How freeing is that? Leaving the night in his hands, knowing he’ll take care of everything, including me?"
Sebastian. Ugh. What can I say, he's amazing and I want him to be my daddy too. He doesn't even realize he is into this kind of roleplay until he meets Alice. I also like that he hasn't had a string of woman he's played Daddy too. This is special and between both of them.

Besides the sexy and steamy roleplay, the love story is just good and fun. Their meet cute is amazing and I love Sebastian's inner dialogue about his feelings for her. Alice is sorta ambushed to be on a reality cooking tv show by her boyfriend.. well ex boyfriend since she only dated him few weeks and he pulls this stunt. Shes already ready to walk off this show but is star struck by guest World famous cook Sebastian.. love Is already floating between them two even when shes embarrased that her cooking is crap.
But like all couples they have some misunderstandings few times.. he has to be back in London for his restaurants and she wonders if she can leave everything if he ask.. but like before another misunderstanding happens.
I really didnt enjoy the daddy/little girl age play.. I'm okay with some daddy kink.. just not that.

Such a sweet story!
Of all the DD/lg books I’ve ever read this one was just PERFECT. The two main characters took to it effortlessly, they both found something they didn’t even know they needed, and truly made me feel their love for each other. It was a beautiful relationship from the start and the epilogue made me so happy that years later they still had that aspect of their relationship that made them both so happy finally.

Jessa Kane is the cure to reading slumps. I had fun with this one, it was unbelievable and over the top but in a smutty novella i don't need anything more than chemistry and a great time so it didn't bother me too much.

This can work for other people, but it just didn’t for me.
It’s an interesting concept, but it was just boring, and so were the kinks included. The hero is also English or something and his dialogue was very bad since I’m sure Jessa Kane is American or just not good at writing non-American characters. The power dynamics between the hero and heroine were not equal either. There’s just something weird about always writing the same virgin innocent heroine in every book you have, especially when this time she’s paired off with a sort of playboy hero. The sex scenes weren’t good either, which is essential to these types of novellas.

I love love love this author she has it all in her books. This was deliciously kinky and fun to read.
The last thing Alice was expecting when her boyfriend Clyde said he had a surprise for her was to be blindfolded and entered into a baking reality show. She is the worst baker she knows and is humiliated beyond belief, it’s the end of her relationship and just when she is about to walk out the door her idol Sebastian Cove is announced as a guest judge and with one look offers her the support she was never expecting, so leaving is no longer an option, but when her baking literally falls flat will the man who has starred in her illicit fantasy’s still be interested in her and could she really be about to live out her most secret desires?
Sebastian Cove is a world renowned chef and three star chef, he has no idea why he is guest judge on this ridiculous reality baking show but once he sets eyes on the delectable curves od Alice he knows this is why he is there she was waiting for him but when she disappears he will stop at nothing to find her and make her his. But after a miscommunication it looks like he has lost her forever can he show her that she is different and that they are meant to be?
This is an alpha man and a young woman with daddy issues and Jessa Kane certainly knows how to write these books to perfection. Highly recommended read. 4.5*

Alice woke up that morning thinking she was going on a tour of a movie studio with her boyfriend, Clyde, but little did she know that he was setting her up to be on a reality tv baking show. Because although she is the manager of the restaurant Landmark in Manhatten, New York, she sucks at baking. She tried baking for Clyde's church on their first date and let's just say that the pumpkin pie was disastrous. After breaking up with Clyde on television and telling the host that she's not doing the show, she goes to remove her apron but one of the judges (aka Sebastian) catches her eye. Making her go against her decision to leave.
Honestly, I don't think I know how to feel about this. I thought I wouldn't like the daddy/little girl kink, but I have mix feelings about it. Like... I got an unexpected lady boner from it. It was unexpected, but I'm not mad at it.
Overall, I liked it. It was sweet, a little funny and a lot hot.

I liked both characters in A Pinch of Sugar, they had great chemistry. But I wasn’t a fan of the baking-show introduction, which only served as a place where all characters from the series could be put in, therefore you could substitute it with a park, cinema, gym… basically everything your mind can come up with.
