HIS VENGEANCE WAS TO MAKE ME HIS BRIDE…

I made a mistake. It was supposed to be a one-night stand.I had no idea who he really was.

For as long as we’ve lived, we have hated each other. Hartsons and Claymores are not meant to get on.

I’m not sure what came over me that night.I went with my friend into neutral territory to have some fun.It was the only place where we could hide our allegiance.

The man I met there was so charming, so devilishly handsome that it was almost unfair. I left the next morning wanting more…Even thinking he was someone worth knowing.

Right until I find out who he was.

A Claymore.

A murderer of my people. A man I should have never touched.

My shame turns to anger when his people spread the tale of what happened. Leaving me defiled. Tarnishing my family’s reputation.

My punishment? A forced marriage.

They turned me into a captive bride, a hostage.I’m being bullied and humiliated.

All I get is resentment and aggression from the Claymores....And my very own “husband”.

But if he has decided to make my life a burning hell,I’ll make sure the devil burns up as well…

Born and raised near Pacific Grove in California, where only about 15000 souls live, Hollie found her passion in writing since she was just nine. She would write odd short stories about fantastic beings or plays she would enact with her friends, where she was always captured by some sort of beast. In these stories, there was no Prince Charming, only dragons and werewolves that were both scary and fascinating.

As she grew older she dwelled into more adult topics. She learned about the fun and fire of steamy romance novels, where the peculiar traits of her favorite characters made them dangerously alluring, physically and psychologically. Today these characters are like people inside her head. They that won't leave her alone until she gives them life. And even though she is the only one writing, Fifty* is always there to assist with inspiration.

*Mom's girl. Probably the brattiest chihuahua ever.

I'm not sure what rating to give Bullied Bride, it was a quick and entertaining guilty-pleasure read and nothing more. However, that's what I was looking for when I picked it up, so I kind of got what I wanted out of it. There could have been many things better but it could have been worse as well, so overall it was an OK book at the end.

I continue to think of this book as 'Pearl, Her Story' as I got to read it before the title was decided.
This star-crossed pair meet at a place where their feuding families shed identities in order to broaden their horizons, but it goes terribly wrong when Pearl's family colors are glimpsed after her night of love with the handsome stranger. The only way out is enforced by the neutral clan: marital alliance. Even though this is ostensibly the future, with advanced technologies, the humans still have these tendencies that can only be addressed at a feudal level. Why are we not surprised?
Pearl's courageous decision to uphold the new alliance does not mean it goes smoothly. Among her new mate's people she is less bullied than snubbed and neglected. The new couple must build upon their initial attraction for one another and meet every challenge, both petty and major, in order to forge lasting peace and true love. The entire process is very relatable and draws us in well.

I just finished the book and I couldn’t wait to write my review so you can start reading it too, because it is that good!!! It’s a story about two families that loathed each other for so many reasons. But, the heirs of the two families somehow managed to meet and shared their moments together, before even realized their partner’s family name. The event started more hate, eventually, and one thing led to another, it ended by the marriage of the two heirs.
Ok, I’m gonna stop at that.
It sets in the post apocalyptic time, which is a new thing for me, but luckily, I still manage to understand the setting and the whole situation. It also have this kind of Romeo and Juliet part, though unlike Romeo and Juliet, our two heroines are not madly in love with each other. I like that Pearl has a backbone and acts like an heir she should be, despite all the hate and bitterness she feels inside, she is someone I would look up to. And I will always love when Desmond defends her wife. Ups, ok I’m gonna stop talking now.

Bullied Bride. This book was interesting and different. It had me on the edge of my seat. I read in this story about clans fighting and destroying lands over lies that have been told years ago. Pearl from the Hartson clan does the unthinkable and lands her family into sudden destruction. The only way they don't get wiped out is if she marries Desmond from the Claymore clan. A clan that hates the Hartson clan. Living with the Claymore clan becomes truly unbearable and Pearl is bullied from all the staff and nearly loses her life. This is a must read book! While the story is a darker than what I usually read, I did thoroughly enjoy it. It's well written, and the characters are likable and ultimately make the best of a dire situation. Pearl and Desmond are from different territories, ones that have been feuding for many years. After the last raid, they are forced to married to bring an end to the feud or have both of their communities eliminated. The drama that comes afterwards can only be described as chaotic and depressing. But fortunately, there's a light at the end of the tunnel and just maybe both territories will survive.

Foes

Bullied Bride by author Hollie Hutchins. (I believe this to be a new series, so this would be book one.)
Intriguing start to a new series that is sure to capture your imagination. Entertaining- heart thumping - intense.
If you loved Romeo & Juliet and know about
the Hatfield–McCoy feud, well this is all that with a kick. You have he said, he said. Righteousness pouring out everywhere and a hate so strong that it colors everything.
Yet there’s just a bit of hope- for chance that love could truly conquer all.
Enjoy!!

I received an ARC for this book.
I enjoyed reading about the conflict between these two powerful clans. From the start it keeps you captivated and wondering what the outcome of the arranged marriage between Desmond and Pearl would be. Will the two families be able to bury all the rage and hate that exist or will the feud continue until both the clans are dead? But luckily the attraction between Desmond and Pearl blossomed into a love for each other and that help to heal some of the pain that was inflicted in the past. A must-read for everyone who loves this genre.

Pearl & Desmond are two people that family are in generational quarrelings, and killings, the Hartsons, and Claymore. When Pearl and Desmond relationship start both had no clue, but then it changed, when they found out they are of different side of a fighting clan , both ending the passionate relationship . Then an agreement entered into by the two families leaders ,the Hartson and Claymore for the clan mutual benefit, marriage between Pearl and Desmond. Then the story start to get intresting.

Fun read! I would rank this as a bully lite book. While many of the people bully the MC, her love interest starts to take her side and overall you end up loving them both!

Cant wait to read more from this author.

Disappointing

The premise was interesting, but the story was lacking. There was not enough world building for me to appreciate the dystopian setting. The main characters changed the way they thought or felt about each other without adequate reason.
