Moving along to brother number 6, Alex who was fostered with a dragon family instead of being sent to an orphanage. One would think Alex had a better life and that would not be the case. The sorry sack of foster parents should be shot. Alex is a male whose been so entangled with cruel politics and internal strife, he tends to keep everything secret and hidden. This way, he can't be hurt. Matching him up with Nicole whose biological mother is a complete nut case is questionable.
I love Nicole. I hurt for Nicole. As more of her childhood is revealed, I'm more impressed how she is sane. Nicole's constant question if she is the crazy one is valid. Her insecurities and triggers are all understandable. I love her ability to have crucial confrontations in a de-escalating manner.
What I loved most about this story is the concept of the "pet emotional support human". I busted out laughing at this point because it is dead on accurate for Nicole in this story. Ms. Night's Wit and her ability to bring hard situations and past hurts to a path of healing is remarkable. That she does this without a lecturing tone and with a sense of humour is astonishing. I love her style of writing and how she creates characters that can problem solve. Ms. Night is quickly becoming a writer I will pick up and read without reading the book blurb.
This paranormal romance is highly recommended to readers who understand gas lighting and need a way to combat it.

I received an ARC edition of this book from the author.
Alex may have been a low caste dragon like his brothers, but his unusual coloring meant he was raised among one of the ruling families. When his foster family proves to be a threat to his new home on Earth, Alex is willing to risk everything to stop them. Nicole can understand growing up in a crazy family, her own family certainly has had it's drama (see Amber's book for more on that!). She's been a bit adrift lately in her life, unsure of where and what she actually wants, but dealing with a psychopathic dragon matriarch and an emotionally distant dragon she might be falling for definitely weren't on her plans.
This story was a bit more drama and danger filled than the previous books. While all of the brothers have had their issues, Alex certainly had a very dangerous upbringing and it made it very hard for him to be willing to open himself up emotionally. Nicole has her own issues with self-worth and trust and it plays a part in how she and Alex interact. The two of them made for an unusual couple, and I wasn't sure how they'd actually work long term at the beginning, but by the end of the story I had warmed up to them as a couple.

I have been waiting for Alexandrite's story for what feels like forever and I was NOT in any way shape or form, disappointed.
Alexandrite was such a surprise. He was flirty and charming and mysterious. He was at times cold and calm, while others he was hot and ferocious and full of passion! I loved his personality and how he couldn't resist Nicole, even when he tried. And Nicole...oh she was full of life and goodness! She was bold and honest and kind and I absolutely loved how she knew she deserved more than what she was getting. Her personality sparkled like jewels and when Alex and Nicole were together, Everything felt right and beautiful and bright as the sun. This was such a perfect story with so much excitement and energy and irresistible romance. I loved it very much!
I think Onyx Dragons: Alexandrite gets an EXPLOSIVE FIVE RED HOT STARS!

Betrayal Gone Wrong
Getting to know the most reclusive dragon brother Alex was definitely different than the other guys.
Finding out that he was raised in different circumstances than his brother will give you encite as to why he does not interact with his family any more than necessary.
I like his story as it was bit more dangerous, twisted, and somewhat heartbreaking but getting to know Nicole.
Nicole comes from a dysfunctional family. You would have gotten to know her in Amber's story as her brother married a dragon. She is a strong believer in therapy and will recommend it for any problem.
What happens when a dragon that never share anything about himself meets a woman that suffered years of mental abuse at the hand of her mother? Pick up this book to see how they communicate and more.
The book had me laugh and smiling in place and at other times I wanted to take Alex out and smack him with a wet mop.

As we get close to the end of this series I find myself having conflicted feelings. On the one hand I desperately want to read these last two books and yet, I am filled with dread at saying goodbye to my treasured dragon friends. In spite of my emotional turmoil, I enjoyed every single second of Alex and Nicole's story. This book offers a delightful blend of emotions and humor, drama and sweetness and heart and heat. The chemistry and connection between these to was intense and tangible. This book will easily capture your attention and keep you invested in the HEA of the featured couple and the ultimate outcome of the additional overarching story line that has been unfolding throughout the series. I loved it! This is my sincere, freely posted review.

Alexandrite is book 6 in the Onyx Dragon series. Each one has been as uniquely written as it's name implies. Alexandrite lives up to the tradition, with a hard-hearted dragon and a full-of-life human that set out to save Earth. But can they save each other? These characters are so well develeoped that you want to cheer Nicole on as she faces either Alex one-on-one, or the whole of the dragon empire! Alex you want to bash upside the head for his foolish behavior that almost makes him lose Nicole. The storyline around these two is well-written, filled with danger, intrigue and romance. With some great twists and turns, it was wonderful to read how it all works out.

Another great addition to this series. Plenty of action, adventure, danger and suspense. I love the characters and story line. Earth is in danger and Alexandrite has a plan but he needs Nicole to keep him grounded. Unfortunately, his plan goes awry, there’s a betrayer in the mix, Nichole’s in danger and now he’s engaged to his enemy whose only goal is to see him dead. Earth’s great hope just may fail making slavery or death eminent. This was a great book and I look forward to reading more of this series. It is definitely worth giving a read.

Good but...
This is like 3.8 stars in my mind. This was an interesting plot, but it was so strange with the whole therapy this, therapy that. It was repetitive and after a while, it got boring. For a moment, i thought this one would be better than the rest because there was a prior introduction to both characters, but no.
Alex wasn't so bad with the denial. All the dragons tend to be like that, but Nicole was childish. It was annoying.

Different, But Still Good Read
Still another well-written story in the series. Even though I still enjoyed this brother's trek to finally take his mate, the convoluted difficulties encountered stretched my patience a little bit. It was a nice change that the alpha male kept denying that she was his mate, fighting it all the way! I also enjoyed the author's insight that even though their personalities were quite different, love conquers all! Enjoy!

I enjoyed reading this book 📚, it has a good storyline and is filled with adventure and intrigue. The interaction and chemistry between the characters of Nicole and Alex is great. Stunning
I love this series. As a dragon shifter series you everything with Starla’s story. Love all the action and adventure with just the right Amount of fight. The characters are heart warming loved it from start to finish.

Incredible!

Different but Good
This novel was as good as the first 5 books. Your imagination kept the story going ("save Earth and build a relationship with your future mate) and kept me looking forward to reading the rest. Starla Night you keep getting better. Thank you.

Edge of my seat
I've eagerly devoured sketchbooks and novellas in this series, but this one kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. It is rewarding to see a heroine who is not in any way, shape,or form perfect figure out that her flaws are her superpowers.

Good read
I enjoyed Nicole and her big open heart. Alex was ok not my favorite brother but still very entertaining! So noe I get to go finish off this series with Client's story! Can't wait to see how it all goes!!

Otherworldly
Again Starla Night has produced an exciting,interesting, romantic adventure. It is a roller coaster ride with impossible tasks and lots of attention to a emotionally closed off lead character. I totally enjoyed this fight for right.

The plot grew more and things are moving forward. I cannot wait to read the next book. At times I was annoyed with the MMC, but the FMC saw him for who he was and by the end she was right. She did the right thing. I'm not sure I'd be patient enough to do so, but it was a thrilling story.

I laughed til the end
