This was a pretty simple and straightforward story. Save the egg so the country won't suffer from drought. The characters weren't fleshed out enough for my liking (except maybe Balsa) but I like the idea of the story centered around the importance of nature and it's cycles. If the story has some supernatural elements and is heavy on legends, that's even better. There is a hint of romance, politics,a decent amount of action scenes and the main character is a strong female lead who, surprisingly, isn't even annoying. I also got used to the art style and I'm happy that the story didn't have million subplots, characters and filler chapters which is common for most mangas and what usually leaves me frustrated because the endings have zero connections to the main stories set up in the first volumes. Google also revealed that there is a novel of the same name and an anime adaptation. Looking forward to diving into this story again and those formats will perhaps be more appealing to me than this manga.
