Remington Kane

Remington Kane is an American author that writes action-packed thrillers. The author might be unfamiliar to some people because Remington Kane is actually a pseudonym for Donald Wells.

Donald Wells has garnered a reputation for writing darker and somewhat serious novels about killers. The author was born in New Jersey. He never really left and has since made a home there. Like most of his peers, Donald Wells was an avid reader as a child.

He spent many an hour devouring every book he came across. And it wasn’t long before he began to yearn for the chance to write. Like many aspiring authors, Donald Wells knew he had the capacity to tell stories. However, he was a little hesitant to venture into such uncharted waters, not only because he didn’t know where to start with regards to writing a book but also because he didn’t have confidence in his own ability to produce compelling fiction.

Again, like most notable authors, Donald meandered about for a while. Rather than going into publishing the first chance he got, Donald tried his hand at various odd jobs. He worked as an insurance salesman, a Real Estate Sales person, and even a Retail manager.

The jobs, though seemingly meaningless in the grand scheme of things, did wonders for the author’s writing capabilities. Whether he was driving trucks or cleaning floors, Donald gained insight into the workings of the world.

He met unexpected people and heard their intriguing stories. He came across numerous strange encounters and even participated in some of them. He essentially dipped into so many unique aspects of life that it came as no surprise that he had more than enough stories rattling around his head when it finally came time to write his first novel.

Not that many authors can claim to have been offered a chance to act as bodyguard to a drug dealer. Since getting his first book sold, though, Donald has finally settled in his career. The author loves writing novels and there is nothing he else he would rather be doing. The fact that he has found a way to make money out of his passion makes him one of the luckier individuals in the world.

By the time Donald Wells began writing as Remington Kane, he had already become established as a novelist with numerous thrillers under his name. However, writing as Remington practically took over his life.

This is because Donald has achieved more success writing as Remington Kane than he did producing novels under his real name. Kane is best known for the Tanner series of novels. Tanner is a hit man who accepts a job to take out a mob boss.

When he is betrayed and thrown into prison, Tanner thinks of little else besides getting revenge. And once he finally gets his freedom, the hit man becomes a one man army, engaging in a brutal way against a crime organization known as the Conglomerate.

Each new book sees Tanner raising the stakes by finding a new target that will sting the Conglomerate in ways they couldn’t possibly fathom.

Remington Kane has been praised for the Tanner novels because Tanner is such a refreshing hero. The protagonist is so average physically, devoid of the exaggerated traits that most action heroes seem to bear. If not for his natural fighting and survival instincts, one would be hard pressed to tell Tanner apart from any other ordinary man on the street.

The Real Deal: Book 26

New York is great with the exception of the dark clouds brewing around the Giaccone. Tanner finds that he has many extended relatives. Elke is a cousin that could be his mother but boy can she kill. Tanner got his hands full. He’s getting rid of copycat “Tanners”, helping Sam, which is proving to be quite time-consuming. Then there is war. It’s coming.

Too many actors for one book

This book alone is just too complex without reading some or all of the previous. Several threads seem unrelated to each other what makes it difficult to follow. Perhaps it means to be encouraging to read the previously written books, but I will pass.

Wow!

Death and destruction are the main theme for this book. Looks like war for Tanner to deal with now and again.

Oh Tanner. 'The Real Deal' was a great addition to one of my favorite series. I loved the story line and how it played out. Tanner definitely has a creative side when dishing out Tanner-style justice. Full of action, great characters and some very thrilling scenarios. A great add to your tbr list. Recommended read.

Kinda repetitious

I've read every "Tanner" book written by this author and was frankly bored by this one. Too many similarities from other books in this series. Kinda like Tanner is up against insurmountable odds and he manages to out wit his enemies using the same tactics, oh hum. Didn't find anything new or exciting with any of the well known characters. I can imagine there is only so much the author can write that hasn't already been written about Tanner.

Several Tanner “wannabes” are operating in NYC, and Cody can’t let it continue. In protecting his ‘good’ name, he finds one of the counterfeits to be special. He also finds that violence has escalated in town as a new group is trying take over all the gangs and organizations. Unusual alliances are formed, and families are tested in Book 26 of this special series.

The Real Deal

Tanner is the real deal. Tanner is back in New York being Tanner. In this installment an unidentified gang is trying to take over the city. Plus there are clones of Tanner running around. Plus one of the killers is a very important person to Tanner. Lots of action. Big body count. A couple of surprises. And that’s the new Tanner book. Recommended!

All I can say is wow.

Although this may not be the usual Tanner novel I think it might just be the best one so far. Tanner goes back to New York to resolve an issue with imposters passing themselves off as him. In the process of visiting Joe Pullo he becomes aware of a new gang trying to take over the city. From there it becomes non-stop mayhem.

Spellbinding

The only thing I can say is you really need to read the books in order. This book becomes a "wrap up" novel that winds all the story lines into one. For instance, the book opens with Cody Parker instead of Tanner. And a newborn that could have used a quick born last whatever type intro. Yeah, the next one is out this month.

Good story

Still have a problem with drug trafficking being the"good" guys. Having grown up around Mafia there was nothing good about them. Donate thousands to the local Carholic Church and the have a high mass fir weddings and funerals. No drugs in tbe 50s but protection, numbers etc.

Glad to see Tanner return

The best novels are those that don’t waste your time. Instead, they move at a fast pace. Sometimes you know what’s coming and you are relieved when you discover that you were right. Remington Kane’s novels are a must read.!!! Dr. C 😊
