He needs to protect her, possess her, but does she want him?

Ruggedly handsome and wickedly dangerous, Rune has spent his entire life as a warrior. First a Viking, then an immortal vampire. Fighting is all he knows. Until he meets her. His soulmate fated to be with him forever. Brigit is his total opposite: tiny and fragile. He burns to possess and protect her. The only problem is, she doesn’t want anything to do with him.

A tough, kick-ass policewoman, Brigit hates it when men judge her on her size and her looks. She’s spent her life keeping her city safe and she isn’t about to give that up just because the sinfully attractive vampire warrior tells her to. Sparks fly, and it’s going to take all Brigit’s control to hold back the raging desire that overwhelms her every time they meet.

Forced to work together as mysterious attacks spread across Chicago and a new threat gathers outside the city, can they find a way to overcome their differences and work together before it’s too late?

The fourth standalone romance in the steamy vampire warrior series by L.J Red, this forever mate novel contains dark themes and sensual scenes. These alpha male vampires are vicious, brutal warriors who will stop at nothing to protect their fated mates.

Well...

I give this one a 3.5 for the rating. I was excited about a Viking vampire and it was okay. I found it a bit like a broken record to be honest.

Rune is a Viking warrior vampire who has found his soulmate with Brigit. She is a headstrong woman who doesn’t like anyone telling her what she can and can’t do. I can totally understand that cause I don’t like being told anything like that, but it was just over and over with it. And the whole vampire shaming was just blah. I know she didn’t say she was ashamed of the whole vampire thing, but it kind of came off like that for me.

Her best friend is a vampire and all she does is push her away. Like yeah I can get the fact that it would be a huge change, and it’s going to be hard to deal with. I just couldn’t really deal with it anymore after it was brought up so many times. And the fact that she doesn’t want to be a vampire.... that’s cool but what happens later on? She is just going to leave Rune to be by himself and deal with the loss of a soulmate? Like wth?!?

And it was hard to see how Rune just felt like everything he did was wrong. I do believe that he was being over protective at times, and the way he came off was a bit weird. Basically came off that she couldn’t protect herself and that he was the only one who could protect her. Brought up the fact that she was only “human” quite a bit.

I don’t know. I’m not saying it’s a horrible book, but it sure has taken a shift from the first two books. Maybe it’s just me 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Happy reading! 🖤🖤

So I have a pet peeve against characters in vampire novels who somehow believe that a happy ending can occur if there isn't parity between the couple. While I absolutely loved this story and how Brigit defied all of Rune's expectations, I have a bit of a problem with the end - her life will only be a fraction of his and how is it fair for her to expect him to continue on after she dies. Since being a soulmate doesn't extend her life, I find it to be the ultimate selfishness on her part to absolutely refuse all hint of becoming a vampire.

Other than that, this book was absolutely awesome. I liked that the Shadows are working with the humans to keep the peace. Brigit was definitely a warrior and a fitting mate to Rune and addition to the Shadows.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Who knew I would have not one but TWO would-be boyfriends in this series? I thought my broken bird, Talon, was my one and only. But not so fast. Turns out, I really find the big, strong silent viking warrior type pretty hot too. What I don’t find hot is adults that cannot simply TALK to each other. I’m giving my boyfriend a bit of a pass here. He’s pretty old school (like a few centuries old school) and he doesn’t really mix with humans, so his knowledge about how to handle himself in modern times with modern sensibilities isn’t quite up to snuff.

But Brigit gets no quarter from me. If you have these feelings, TELL HIM! If he tells you you’re his mate and you don’t really understand all that that entails, ASK HIM! Sure you did a little bit, but a grownup conversation is a bit more than you ask 1 question, he answers and you run out of the room. Put your big girl panties on and have an actual discussion. Ok, I get it, without imbecilic women, we wouldn’t have a story. So that’s why I put up with their silliness up to a point.

Given all this, it was still a very enjoyable read. I do find the overarching storyline very interesting. I think this would make a much better movie franchise than the Underworld movies. There’s still a bunch of loose ends here that will need to be cleaned up in the next book.

The Warrior Vampire: A Bloodline Vampires Novel

Dana's partner Bridgit meets her fated mate Rune. Like the other books in this series, once I started reading I can not put it down until I had finished it. I loved reading this series, the characters and their emotions are deep and complex but their devotion to their mates is unending.
I was unhappy with the fact that Bridgit didn't accept to live in the Sanctuary as the other female mates did & doesn't even want to be a vampire so that she can live forever with her Mate. Made me sad…. That’s why the 4 stars ..l
Definitely recommend this book 📖 series 📕…

This book is a little different from the others but in a good way. I felt like in the first three the women always directly fell for their mate and then it was a matter of them worrying whether they were worthy or not. Birgit is a lot more self assured in what she wants (at least in the beginning). I like her character a lot.

Vampire, humans treachery

How can she reconcile her friend is now a vampire? They worked so well together as cops, but she can’t now that she’s vampire. Then he comes along, starts talking soulmates. Impossible!

This book was not as powerful as the others. I felt that it lacked the earlier books finesse and depth. It wasn't bad, just more incomplete.

Once again you have the Shadows battling to keep vampire's and humans safe in book 4 old enemy's are back and new one's will rise up. But in the middle of all the chaos Rune will find his Soulmate Brigit.

Rune is a centuries old Viking warrior turned into a Vampire Warrior a Shadow. He has seen his leader and friend find there soulmate never expecting to find his but she calls to him. But when he finds her she want's non of his protection even though he saves her life she's a cop and she doesn't want him looking out for her.

Brigit has to work around a bunch of male cops and best friend and partner Dana has been turned into a Vamp. She's trying to deal with all that and now the Fed's want to organize a task force to stop crime against vampire's she and Dana a couple of Feds and a Shadow will have to work together.

And another mistery will rise up involving missing street people and HUNT what do they want with them who is there leader and will lead back to Roman a really old crazy vampire. When a street person named Sparrow ask for help her people are disappearing taken by strange men but before Brigit can find out more Sparrow is taken.

Brigit and Rune will have to work together figure out how to make there soulmate bond work and stop HUNT before its to late. They also have a mole in there midst telling there enemy of every move they make.

Battle, love, lust and more crooked evil enemies come out of the shadows some undead some just filled with hate in the fourth book by L.J. Red.

I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book and this is my honest review.

I loved this story actually the whole series and this is book 4 of the Bloodline Warriors: Shadow and this is Brigit’s and Rune’s story. Brigit’s is friends with Dana they are also partners at the precinct Brigit feels awkward around Dana ever since she was turned into a vampire and no ordinary vampire she’s a shadow who are enforcers of the vampire world, if it was up to Brigit she would have nothing to do with vampires at all but she can’t turn her back on her best friend. The feds have authorised Brigit and Dana to be in a joint task force to deal with vampire related crimes he also wanted the shadows involved so Dana would have to ask her bloodmate Lucien he’s the head of the shadows after all. Brigit was following Sparrow who is homeless Sparrow told Brigit that the homeless have been going missing and it was men in black with big guns and now they have Sparrow in a van and a man has a gun pointed right at Brigit’s chest. Rune was following an alluring scent he kept losing the trail then he felt it danger his soulmate is in danger and he has to find her fast, Rune has found his soulmate his heart has started beating and it’s all for her but he see’s a man who’s about to shoot her No Rune shouts. And that my friends is all I’m going to give you to this amazing story and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

Exciting and paction packed oh and a love story
Rune believes there is not a soulmate fated out there for him. He has been on this world for too long to give one inch to thinking this. But he sees his friends happiness and he wants the same. to feel his heart beat again.
Brigit is a no nonese policewoman. Who hates when men think less of her just because she is female. Her partner is Dana who is now Soul mates to Luican the head of the shadows. And she was turned into a vampire after a mission that went wrong. Brigit is still getting used to having a vampire as a friend so when Rune helps Brigit when she is under attack in a dark alleyway the chemistry and attraction is there straight away. Rune knows what this means but he can tell that Brigit is not ready to hear the truth, she is his soulmate. One of Brigit's biggest fears is being tunred int a vampire so she feels there is no hope for them.
Wow this is a powerful story of love exceptance and trust. Of miscommunications.Of learning not to judge what you dont understand.
This is a fantastic story that i couldnt put down. The pace is fast and exciting, full of action and drama. This series is quickly becoming one of my favourites.

This is the fourth book in the Bloodline Warriors series and this series is fast becoming a favourite for me every book in it seems to get better and better. We met Rune in previous books especially in the third book and I was hoping we would get his story

Rune is a super protective warrior from the viking times so when he meets his soulmate in a small human you can bet that he is going to go way over the top with his protection This is a bit of a problem when his mate is Brigit a female cop who has always had to prove her toughness to the men she works with. Brigit isn't sure she really trust vampires even though she has been thrust into their world by her partner been turned but when she meets Rune she feels the attraction and the mating call but will she be able to give up her independence
This series has been brilliant from the start each book we meet more and more secondary characters who then become the start of their own book Yes each can be read as a stand alone but do yourself a favour read them all and in order You won't be disappointed

OMG I love this book and this series. Each one just gets better and better. You are glued to your seat right from the beginning to the very last word. You will not be disappointed. This story is about sexy alpha vampire Rune and his fated mate who happens to be a bad ass cop and she is human. Brigit is the complete opposite of him she is human. When he gets that feeling that she is his mate he will stop at nothing to protect her and make her his. She doesn't need or want his protection but eveytime they are together she wants him to. Will she give into the connection and become his fated mate. This series is a must read for any reader. I recommend this book, this author and this series. I hope there is more to come.

This is book four in this Bloodline series, but can still be read as a stand-alone. The Shadows are vampire law enforcers and are obviously vampires. Brigit is a human police officer whose partner has now been turned into a vampire the save her Mate’s life. Brigit is still hesitant around vampires, until she meets Rune. This book has a very interesting and involved story with true three-dimensional characters. In each book this author has taken numerous “secondary” characters and has built up the reader’s relationship and then introduces them as main characters in a later book. That, in itself, is true talent. Excellent series! Excellent read!

L.J. Red has given us another 5-star tale in book 4 in the “Bloodline Warriors” series, “Warriors Mate” which is Rune and Brigit's story. I did not think L.J. Red could surpass the dark steamy action-packed tale “Enemy Mate” (book 3). We caught a glimpse of Rune’s life in “Enemy Mate” (book 3), “Chosen Mate” (book 2) and “Vampire Mate” (book 1). This well-written tale contains action, suspense, humor, dark twists, life-changing decisions, and love. This is definitely a wonderful, addition to the Bloodline Warriors: Shadow Series.

Warrior Mate by L. J. Red is the fourth book in the Bloodline Warrior Shadow series. This book focuses on the relationship between homicide detective Brigit and the vampire warrior Shadow named Rune. This is a stand alone book with its own happy ever after ending. This book is a wonderful story full of mystery, adventure, and suspense. I couldn’t put it down. The characters were intriguing and I loved the way the romance developed throughout the story between the characters. This is definitely a vampire romance that any paranormal romance reader will love. Warrior Mate is a 5 ++ star awesome tale of vampire mystery and romance!

LJ Red has again provided a great story involving the warriors of the Shadows and their human bloodmates. The humans have created a task force between members of the FBI, the police and the Shadows. While fighting the lure of their mating, Rune and Brigit must work together to find out what is happening to homeless people disappearing. Brigit is a modern warrior, who can handle her own as a police officer. However, Rune is old school and needs to protect her at every turn. Love the Shadows and can't wait for the next in the series.

Rune and Brigit Both are warriors but of different times He is an ancient Viking warrior who dose not fit well with modern humans, where She is a cop a modern female warrior. The fates have made them Soulmates, they have a difficult time coming to an understanding of what this will mean for them as neither one is good at expressing themselves.
This story has plenty of feels, tons of twists and turns, and some great steam!

Rune has always been a warrior name it as a Viking or now as Shadow, so finding his mate in Brigit make his extra protective as he believes that she's tiny and frail. Brigit is a badass cop who feels the mating pull but who has work too hard to be treated as an equal in the police force.
It's intriguing, angsty, a will they won't they push and pull, and soo good.

Another awesome story. This whole series so far has been awesome. They are full of danger and excitement. There is also a lot of trying to come together with your soulmate and all the things that can go wrong in a relationship. Very well done. I don't have any idea of how many books there will be but I do hope that there will be many more. They are so good. Warrior Mate

An ancient vampire Viking Warrior soulmate to a feisty non nonsense Modern female Cop. Her priority is her work not the Neanderthal try to protect her. Rune will have to learn some things about this human warrior before he can dare try to claim her and all while fighting Roman, HUNT and their despicable ways

A great quick read with Sparrow and Jacob story continued within for the full set up.

Rune is a warrior, born and bred to protect those weaker so when he meets Brigit, his dainty mate, his protective instincts go through the roof causing plenty of friction with his fiercely independent mate. This is a very well written story with an intense and action packed storyline, great characters and a fated couple that have a few obstacles to overcome before finding their HEA.
