The way things start between Daisy and Taylor is so questionable and shocking. I was going to stop reading but I had to know what happened. It was okay.

EDIT: After a bit of thought, I couldn’t let anyone thinking I’m okay with how Daisy and Taylor get together. If it were a man and a woman, I’d be just as disgusted... so I’ve changed my rating to ONE star ‘cause it’s really disgusting.

This was a big oof for me.

The contract that is being referred to is a standing agreement to have sex weekly in order for a tenant to guarantee coverage of 6 months' rent. Most stories where an agreement is formed usually center around an occurrence and take great care to ensure that both characters consent freely. This was not the case. They just started the contractual obligations immediately and found feelings somewhere in between the coercion/power imbalance I guess.

There were attempts to try to give the narrator personality but nothing memorable shone through. The love interest had nothing redeemable or interesting besides being the person who suggested the contract.

Highly recommend avoiding it. I can't even think of a person who might find this concept and execution interesting. I would have thrown it into the DNF list if it wasn't such a short read, hence the one star.

That was a quick read, I liked both characters but they could have been a little bit more developed. There was some typos here and there but nothing major. I liked that we had updates from Mrs Bradshaw and that eventually she played her part in this story
I recommend mainly cause I like how the author write

This book is an easy read. The storyline of this book is simple and quite interesting. The story begins when Daisy can't afford the monthly rent on time. Taylor as a landlady and a busy businesswoman came out with an interesting contract to help Daisy, which is for me involves moral issues and misuse power. Even so, the relationship between them was sweet and fun.

I was hooked from the very beginning.

This was a pretty good title. Daisy, struggling to make ends meet and just getting by thanks to the generosity of her landlady when she couldn't make her rent on time due to cutbacks at work. Taylor, successful business woman and daughter of Daisy's landlady, comes in to take over the rental property to afford her mother to go into retirement and spend time with her grandchildren. After learning how her mom kept books,Taylor decides to go one better and offer Daisy a deal that will be hard to refuse and guarantee they both get what the need. However, can such a deal go on without a hitch or anyone else getting involved? Set aside some time to find out, you'll be glad you did. Enjoy!

Because of the premise I was expecting erotica, that was my bad, but, it felt incomplete and lacking on details, even for a short story. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Business mixed with pleasure

I really enjoyed this story and wish it was a bit longer. It may have seemed that Daisy was being taken advantage of but she was always able to walk away. Taylor was her fantasy woman and who could turn that down. Daisy was able to get under Taylor 's skin. They were very hot together.

Not all contracts get you what you really want!

Daisy had a life that was hard on so many levels. Taylor did not really see her privileged life. Mrs Bradshaw owned the building Daisy lived in and always helped Daisy by letting rent slide. When she retired and her daughter, Taylor, took over everything changed. A contract to protect both women opened up a relationship that would never be just business.
It was hard to envision this misuse of power as a good thing. The story reminds me that there are many who misuse kindness. What brought Daisy and Taylor together was difficult circumstances that life is full of always. The mean neighbor who wanted rent free was no less immoral, just not honest The joy that they could find LOVE and Taylor's mom brought them back together made me love this story. I want to know more of where their life goes so Raven J. Spencer, I hope there is a book two. I love the uniquely wonderful tales this author stories bring to life. Life is full of characters in very different circumstances and finding their way together is delicious.

A contract to love

This is a sweet love story that begins with the contract and ends with the marriage. Daisy is barely making ends meet and he’s having trouble paying her rent. The plot becomes complicated when Daisy meets Taylor but only for sex. Taylor suggests a contract but only for Friday nights. The complications come in when they are found out and it becomes a problem for Taylor who owns the building that Daisy lives in. I recommend this book for those who like a sweet love story with a different situation.

Sweet Story!

I really enjoyed this book. Daisy and Taylor’s situation and contract written was a refreshing take and twist. I enjoyed the growing in their relationship and familiarity of each other. I could of used a couple of questions answered. Their age, why Daisy was in this predicament, how did they find out about the contract, all valid questions. Still a well written story. I am a fan...

Sweet read.

I loved the book from the beginning. I just had to find out what happened so I kept on turning the pages. I enjoyed myself through it too. The power play was interesting, and so was the tenderness and sweetness of the attraction between Daisy and Taylor.
However I would have loved a little bit more details towards the end,but I can't complain much.

I totally recommend this book.

A big YIKES. I’ve always believed that if something wouldn’t fly in a straight romance, it shouldn’t be okay in a queer one either.

And yes, I know some stories lean into dark romance or have problematic dynamics — and sometimes, with the right approach, that can actually make for an interesting read. But other times, it’s just a bunch of red flags. Unfortunately, this book falls into the latter category.

I really enjoyed the whole premise for this story and I felt a connection to the characters. Actually, could quite easily envision Taylor being played in the movie in my mind as Rachel Shelley! Would have loved if the story was a little longer but I enjoyed it and kept me guessing right until the end.
I really could do with a contract like this!

Great uplifting experience

Daisy and Taylor's initial contract was fascinating and wonderful to watch evole into something more without them recognizing it. The drama surrounding the fallout from the neighbors accusation was stressful to read and to watch the two women have to deal with. No spoiler alert here, read the book to see the ending. Great book and great read.

The Contract

This is the first book I’ve read by Raven J. Spencer and I truly enjoyed it. The characters Daisy and Taylor blended well together. I especially loved Daisy’s self deprecating humor, as well as her ability to keep moving forward no matter what happens. I plan on binge reading the rest of her books.

Good story

Good story, well written, interesting characters and a good plot. Taylor and Daisy had a strangely odd start, the relationship is based on a simple contract, sex and dates out until their feelings escalated. I enjoyed it since the first page.

Loved it..

A gentle read. Likeable characters. Nothing too heavy.. and that is all I have to say.. Amazon makes it too hard insisting on a certain number of words in a review.

I was impressed with the idea and enjoyed reading this story. Not happy with the ending, but I often wish for longer endings. I know that many authors wrap up their stories quickly. I enjoyed the characters and would have liked more time with them.

Not your typical love story

It was a nice story. I would not say could not be realistic as it could happen. But it turns out to be a happy ending though so its a plus point of the story.
The ending could have added some more spark as it felt being rush.

Short, Hot and Sweet

Even though The Contract was short and sweet, it did have pretty hot scenes in it. I love reading Raven J. Spencer’s work. She puts a spin on her characters that have them lingering in your mind.

Very enjoyable. Loved the characters. You could tell right away they were attracted to each other. Everything works out in the end, and there's a HEA ending. A longer story would be cool as well, because I really liked Daisy and Taylor.
