This was just the intro book I needed into the craft. The visuals were lovely and helped cement the information into my mind. Think of this as a starter grimoire that delivers the basics and inspires you to create your own. The only thing that bugged me were the typos.
Felt a little like I was reading a good friend's book of shadows! Beautiful illustrations, very personal...I was even charmed by the little spelling mistakes because it felt more *real,* and wonder if they were left in intentionally. Learned a lot!
This is the book that inspired me to make my first jar of moon water! Magick was one of the very first witchy books I ever bought, and I'd been eyeing it for quite a while on The Quirky Cup Collective instagram (omg everything they make is amazing). Anyway, I finally got my hands on it back in 2020 and it was just as beautiful and magickal as I imagined it would be. Every single page is filled with illustrations and it really feels like a friend has let me peek into their personal grimoire. Each reference, ritual, working, and description just feels infused with the love and intention of the author, and I felt so inspired to delve deeper into my own practice as a result. I'm really grateful that Magick showed me what it could be like to start making my own personal grimoire!
This book was such a good (and beautiful!) read for baby witches. So many great ideas with how to connect to oneself and the world around us. The illustrations were gorgeous as well. I wanted to bookmark almost every page in the book because it had such good information. I can’t wait to put it to good use! 🧹
It was really cute, basic guide. It has some inaccuracies (saying pagans believe in the rule of three for example, when that’s strictly a Wiccan thing) and is very Wicca-centric, but a decent starting point for someone who doesn’t really know anything about witchcraft. The illustrations are the main thing that gives it a higher rating because they are absolutely adorable!
When she announced when Magick was coming out, the date was marked in my planner. The book is absolutely stunning with all the illustrations and artwork Kyla put inside. So far one of my favourite books when it comes to a guide to witchcraft. So beautiful🥰
