Part 3 of the series. Another nice adventure of Alfie with his kitten George. I am, however sad he had to miss Snowball, but I am up to the next adventure of Alfie and George. I do think it would have been more dramatic if Alfie had found George as kitting wandering the streets and that would be the way they got George. Still, I love the silliness of George.

L’unico pregio di questo libro è quello di essere una lettura abbastanza veloce, perché per il resto non riesco a trovarne nemmeno uno.
La storia è noiosa e senza un vero filo logico: sono avvenimenti che accadono così, messi uno accanto all’altro, e che alla fine si risolvono tutti assieme appassionatamente nell’arco di pochissime pagine. Più che altro le varie cose non hanno alcun senso tra di loro, ma ci sono un sacco di tematiche, anche interessanti, che vengono buttate all’interno del romanzo e che poi non sono minimamente approfondite.
I personaggi sono uno più insopportabile dell’altro: tra gli umani che sono un branco di stupidi che passano 250 pagine su 280 (se non di più) a lamentarsi e a piangersi addosso, ai gatti, che ho trovato davvero insopportabili.
Alfie l’avrei preso molto spesso a testate, lui e il suo fare da supereroe. Il piccolo George, invece, è stato un controsenso unico, anche per quel che riguarda il mio atteggiamento nei suoi confronti: a volte davvero non sono riuscita a sopportarlo, mentre altre è stato l’unico in grado di farmi sorridere nell’intero libro.

Alfie non è un gatto qualsiasi, è il Il gatto che tutti vorrebbero avere perché è premuroso, attento e soprattutto affettuoso. Riesce a cogliere i problemi dei suoi amati padroni e vuole risolverli lui, aiutarli a superare le loro difficoltà, i loro dubbi e le loro ansie.
Ora però non è più solo: ha un gattino dal nome molto royal, George, a cui badare... e capisce cosa significhi voler bene ad un esserino ancora innocente che non conosce il mondo.
Storia abbastanza scorrevole, non aspettatevi chissà che trama, però scalda il cuore a noi gattare.

Il gatto che regalava il buonumore è il terzo appuntamento della serie Alfie. Protagonista assoluto del racconto è il gatto Alfie, un gatto un po’ speciale.
Come nei precedenti appuntamenti, tutta la storia è incentrata sulle dinamiche che Alfie instaura con i suoi amici umani; in questo caso il gatto è “condiviso” da ben quattro famiglie. Alfie infatti si definisce un gatto dei portoni, proprio perché stringe legami affettivi con diversi nuclei familiari. Facciamo chiarezza, perché effettivamente non è facile destreggiarsi fra tutti gli intrecci. La prima famiglia di Alfie è composta da Jonathan e Claire, con la loro figlioletta Summer. Ci sono poi Matt e Polly con i loro due figli Henry e Martha, quindi troviamo la famiglia polacca composta da Thomasz e Franceska con i loro figli Alesky e Thomasz piccolo. Tutti loro sono stati protagonisti degli episodi precedenti. In questo si aggiunge anche Tasha con il figlioletto Elijah.
La particolarità di questo racconto è che tutto ruota intorno al gatto ed è osservato dal punto di vista di Alfie, che racconta in prima persona le sue avventure. Ogni volume ha il suo tema centrale: questa volta il filo conduttore di tutto è il “legame familiare”, quel collante speciale che tiene unite le famiglie. Alfie si è dovuto separare dal suo amore Palla di Neve; Claire è preoccupata per la tristezza che il gatto manifesta e decide di prendere un gattino, George. L’iniziale ritrosia di Alfie è subito superata dall’affetto che egli prova per il cucciolo e così Alfie “adotta” il piccolino. Ad aiutarlo c’è prima di tutto la sua amica gatta Tigre e tutta la banda dei gatti del vicinato.
Molti sono i temi che vengono trattati: la separazione, l’adozione, le crisi per il lavoro sia quando ce ne è troppo sia quando non ce n'è.
La storia è molto carina, scritta benissimo, con uno stile fluido e scorrevole. I capitoli sono brevi e questo invoglia ad andare avanti nella lettura. Purtroppo, però, questa volta la storia è un po’ noiosa, a volte ripetitiva. A me Alfie piace moltissimo e mi piace leggere le storie attraverso i suoi occhi (forse perché amo molto i gatti), ma in questa occasione ho avvertito un po’ di noia. Per quanto i temi siano profondi e ben affrontati, non sono stata totalmente coinvolta dalle vicende.
Sicuramente è un bel libro da leggere, soprattutto se si amano i gatti.

Come i libri precedenti è molto tranquillo, con una trama lineare e delle vicende molto semplici. Alfie affronta questa volta due nuovi problemi e cerca di risolverli al meglio coinvolgendo sia i suoi amici gatti che le sue famiglie umane!
È molto dolce e la prospettiva di un gatto fa sempre sorridere.
Avrei preferito un maggior movimento delle vicende, che risultano spesso troppo statiche, infatti le poche problematiche vengono risolte solo alla fine del libro, mentre restano sempre nel limbo in tutto il resto del romanzo.
Una piacevole lettura estiva, perfetta per rilassarsi un po'!

Una vez más, me he encontrado ante una de mis novelas preferidas del año. Ya había leído los anteriores libros de esta "trilogía" sobre Alfie: El gato que curaba corazones (reseña) y El gato que enseñaba a ser feliz (reseña).
Ambos anteriormente ya me habían demostrado la deliciosa pluma de la autora, con la que deleitaba creando historias en las que Alfie se convertía en héroe las veces que hiciera falta. Y es que su última obra ha llegado cargada de feelgood la mayor parte de la historia.
La nueva llegada del pequeño gatito George ("Deorge"- no he podido encariñarme más con la forma de pronunciarlo de la pequeña Summer) revoluciona positivamente a las familias y a los demás gatos de Edgar Road. Desde entonces, Alfie asume su papel de padre adoptivo y tendrá que capotear más de una trastada del gatete. Aparecen nuevos personajes carismáticos en la historia, aunque uno de ellos os recordará a un personajillo de Los Simpsons...
Al contrario que los otros dos libros anteriores, he apreciado que éste se ha enfocado más en el triángulo George-Alfie-Tiger, y de forma secundaria en los problemas familiares que van apareciendo, pero no mucho menos importantes.
Sabía que no me iba a defraudar esta lectura, con su protagonista cargado de amor para los demás, y un ritmo bastante ágil en cuanto a lectura. Un caramelo en mis manos.
He disfrutado desde la primera página y me ha dolido terminarlo, no porque haya un final triste (todo lo contrario), sino porque quería seguir leyendo más y más de Alfie.
Sí es cierto que el final se puede prever, pues Rachel Wells no dejaría que la historia diera un giro dramático y amargo al final (ella mima a sus gatetes jeje).
Lo único que no me ha gustado es que los dos primeros ejemplares de la trilogía son de tapa dura y éste ha sido en tapa blanda, va a quedarse un poco descuadrado visualmente... :/
Recomiendo este libro a todo aquel que adore los animales, cambiará sin duda la perspectiva que se tiene hacia los gatetes.

In questo periodo di periodo di crisi, quasi di blocco del lettore, mi sono rivolta ai felini per un po' di spensieratezza, e Alfie, malgrado le assurde incongruenze - il gattino George non sa cosa sia l'erba, ma sa che è morbida, elastica e un po' umida? - riesce davvero a mettermi di buonumore. Sì, ho rischiato il diabete, ma come si fa a non provare il desiderio di stritolare di coccole Alfie e il piccolo George, il gattino che Claire ha deciso di adottare per consolarsi del fatto di non poter più avere figli e per consolare Alfie per la partenza di Palla di neve?
Alfie diventa papà, dunque - anche se adottivo - e si sentirà pieno di nuove responsabilità, tanto più che i suoi umani ne combinano non poche, e come al solito, sta sempre a lui porre rimedio...
Era bello veder sorridere Matt; adesso capivo perché le persone guardano per ore su internet certi buffi video con i gatti: sono meglio di una pennichella felina per sollevarti il morale.
Alfie diventa papà, dunque - anche se adottivo - e si sentirà pieno di nuove responsabilità, tanto più che i suoi umani ne combinano non poche, e come al solito, sta sempre a lui porre rimedio...

Net zoals in de andere delen volgen we de drempelkat Alfie en zijn familie’s. Alles lijkt goed te gaan maar helaas veranderen dingen. Alfie moet dus ook in dit deel alles op alles zetten om te zorgen dat iedereen weer gelukkig is. Echter heeft hij dit keer ook nog kitten George om voor te zorgen en ook dit is moeilijker dan verwacht.
Alfie is gewoon een heerlijke kat, hij is absoluut geweldig. Hij is lief, zorgzaam maar ook een beetje onbeholpen. De liefde die hij voor zijn familie’s, vrienden en George heeft is super.
Elk deel bevat wel wat zware onderwerpen maar door de manier waarop ze te sprake komen en Alfie zijn reactie is het geen zwaar verhaal. Het is wel een beetje voorspelbaar maar dat maakt mij in deze serie niet uit. Het leest heerlijk vlot weg. Zoals het een echte feelgood betaamt voel je wanneer je het boek uit hebt tevreden en gelukkig.

Delighful story for any cat lover!
Alfie the cat loses his beloved girlfriend when she moves away with her family. His human family try to cheer him up with his very own kitten. Not too sure at first about this at first, Alfie soon is charmed by kitten, George, who looks on him as a father. Once the kitten is introduced to Tiger, she becomes his Tiger Mum.
As usual, Alfie tries to solve all his family's problems. When George is kitnapped, all the humans and cats in the neigbourhood come together to find him, along with several other cats who have gone missing.
Alfie the cat loses his beloved girlfriend when she moves away with her family. His human family try to cheer him up with his very own kitten. Not too sure at first about this at first, Alfie soon is charmed by kitten, George, who looks on him as a father. Once the kitten is introduced to Tiger, she becomes his Tiger Mum.

Alfie is a doorstep cat who has three families. He lives with Claire and Jonathan on Edgar Road. Polly, Matt and their children are their neighbours and Franceska and Tomasz and their children are former neighbours and visit weekly. All three families are very good friends with each other, thanks for Alfie.
Alfie is in love with Snowball, a neighbour cat, and that love is returned. Both are heartbroken, though, when Snowball's family moves away and they know they will never see each other again. Seeing how depressed Alfie is, Jonathan and Claire get a kitten named George hoping to distract him. Alfie takes to George right away and becomes his adopted father, teaching him how to be a cat. Tiger, Alfie's best friend, becomes George's adopted mom and the rest of the cats in the neighbourhood dote on George.
Posters of cats are turning up on lamp posts which have the neighbourhood cats wondering what's going on ... is it a beauty contest? In addition to figuring out what this is all about, each of Alfie's families have troubles that he is determined to fix.
This is the third in Alfie series (there are currently five in the series) and I enjoyed it. It is written in first person perspective in Alfie's voice. We can see the conversations he has with other cats. Plus he understands the conversations of humans around him (rather than "blah blah blah blah blah Alfie blah blah blah). Though he can't talk back to them in their language, he does try to communicate in cat-talk and expressions. As a head's up, though the story is about a cat, it does have mature themes.
I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the others in this series.

The Alfie the Cat series by Rachel Wells is pure popcorn, which appeals to a person who likes to imagine that cats are attuned to deep emotions and work to solve problems. I happen to love them, but I am under no illusion that they are great literature.
In Alfie and George, Alfie is give a kitten named George by his human owners with the hopes that it will make him happy.
Alfie of course has to resolve some problems which is humans are having and manages to involve all of his cat buddies in assisting him.
It is a lovely cute book if you go in for that kind of thing.

Libro noioso, con una trama singhiozzante e un epilogo imbarazzante. I personaggi passano tutto il libro a lamentarsi, per poi risolvere i loro "problemi" nell'arco di una decina di pagine. Alfie scopre nell'ultima pagina di essere innamorato di Tigre, e anche quello viene risolto nell'arco di due tre righe. Per carità, l'idea dei gatti che risolvono i problemi dei loro umani e scoprono la fine dei gatti scomparsi è anche carina, ma è scritta (o tradotta) talmente male da farti passare la voglia di continuare a metà del libro. Per finirlo ho dovuto sforzarmi non poco (non si abbandonano a metà i libri!), e onestamente mi sono pentita di averlo acquistato.

Another tale (tail?) of Alfie and his life on Edgar Road. After he ended up in love with Snowball at the end of the last book, this one sees this relationship hit the rocks fairly early on in this book, when Snowball's owners move away and break up the loving couple.
Alfie is heartbroken and doesn't know how he will cope, but soon has other things on his mind when his owners adopt a new kitten called George, whom Alfie has to take care of and guide through life as he grows up.
Also running through this book is a mystery involving disappearing cats, which Alfie and his posse (pussy?) are keen to solve. Needless to say, Alfie comes up with another well-intentioned scheme which backfires slightly when George becomes one of the missing cats.

I think there is another book due out in the run-up to Xmas this year, so that will be added to my reading list when it is out.
Alfie is heartbroken and doesn't know how he will cope, but soon has other things on his mind when his owners adopt a new kitten called George, whom Alfie has to take care of and guide through life as he grows up.
Also running through this book is a mystery involving disappearing cats, which Alfie and his posse (pussy?) are keen to solve. Needless to say, Alfie comes up with another well-intentioned scheme which backfires slightly when George becomes one of the missing cats.

Un altra fantastica e dolce avventura in compagnia di Alfie, in questo capitolo Alfie subirà una dura batosta amorosa, fortuna che "in soccorso" arriva George, un piccolo micetto che ha tanto amore da offrire. Ognuno ha i suoi problemi Claire vuole adottare un bambino ma Jonathan non è sicuro, Matt ha perso il lavoro, invece dall'altra parte Thomasz lavora troppo e rischia di perdere la sua famiglia.
Davvero dolce questo libro, molto scorrevole e coinvolgente come Alfie, non riesco a smettere di leggere ciò che lo riguarda, è una storia in continua evoluzione, non sai mai cosa aspettarti sai solo che finchè ci sarà Alfie andrà tutto bene, bellissimo il finale non me l'aspettavo proprio di Alfie e Tigre, mi dispiace solo che non abbiano più citato Palla di Neve, cioè almeno, per capire come se la cava lei, ciò non toglie che è bellissimo, Rachel Wells e il suo Alfie non deludono mai e ora avanti il prossimo.

This was a cute book. The stakes never feel super high but it still gets emotional sometimes. I do have to admit that I haven't read the prior two books in the Alfie series yet (I thought it was a standalone going in), the book still gives the reader enough context clues and I got attached to the characters pretty soon. I also appreciate how Alfie didn't start a rivalry with once he entered the picture like I've seen in other cat books, but instead . Just super cute and wholesome. There's a lot of interpersonal conflict in this and also a mystery of missing cats, and it was neat seeing how Alfie and his friends all got together to try and solve this.

I couldn't engage with this book as much as the first two and it took me longer to read. As with the other two books, it's written as if Alfie is telling the story. Alfie has a number of humans who look after him and each family has problems in this book. Alfie, with the help of some feline friends, tries to find a way to bring his humans back together, whilst at the same time looking after George, the new kitten brought in by one of his owners to help mend his broken heart when his female cat mate moves away. It's easy to read so if you are looking for something uncomplicated and you are a cat lover this might suit you.

Such a delightful, heartwarming series!
I totally enjoyed this story line! Little George is the cutest little guy! I was sorry to see Snowball go, but really happy that Tiger and Alfie are together. He finally came to his senses and realized how much Tiger really loved him. George seemed to melt everyone's heart. Even Salmon softened up! This is a fantastic series. I absolutely love it!

Put on your fuzzy socks, make hot chocolate and snuggle into your favorite chair. This is one of those books. And while the talking cats may require that you suspend your disbelief, once you're a chapter in, you won't miss that disbelief at all. This entire series is just enchanting, and the introduction of the rascally George just adds to it!

He ovat perheittensä kanssa maaseudulla lomalla ja tekevät tuttavuutta myös pelottavien lehmien kanssa. Kotiin palattua synkät pilvet alkavat kerääntyä umpirakastuneiden onnen ylle: Lumipallon perhe on muuttamassa pois Edgar Roadilta herra Snellin työpaikan vuoksi. Quite enjoyed this book about Alfie and his 'son' George.
Alfie gets quite a shock when George appears on the scene, his human having got him to try to heal Alfie's broken heart after his girlfriend leaves the area.
Alfie is an amazing cat who has many cat and human friends. Although horrified at first at George the kittens appearance he soon loves him and becomes his adopted father.
Cats are going missing in the area and Alfie's human friends all seem to be having trouble with their lives. It is up to Alfie to solve everything!
Some of it I thought should have been a story aimed at children, other parts children would not have understood.
It was both sad and funny.
I may read the other Alfie stories.

A Book Review~ Alfie and George
This book is my eleventh book in English this year, and I found it at my favorite book store, Kinokuniya. Before buying this, I read the reviews. I had been looking for a book that I can read about cats in English for years. So, when I found it, I was very happy.
This book was so very cute even though the content was a bit childish. From an English learner aspect, I really enjoyed the book. Since I read the third book of the book series fast, I couldn't get some characters. I want to read the first and the second book too. I also found the Japanese translation version. I would like to read it some time as well.
Since the cover kitten of the book is so cute, I want to paint him.

hermoso, realmente hermoso.
estos tres libros tienen su toque; una situación muy complicada para nuestro amigo Alfie, ya que tuvo que pasar experiencias tristes en poco tiempo, entre una de esas la llegada de George. Cómo tiene escenas que dan risa! es único, y con todo lo que viven más aún. ah, en serio que con estas lecturas te vas haciendo fan de los hermosos gatitos. Y sobre todo, te conmueves con el final. la verdad no me arrepiento de haberlos leído. por ahí vi que hay otros más, pero aún no tenemos novedad de la próxima traducción. Apenas salga algo ahí correré a leer el 4 y los que sigan.
