Lillyyyyy lorddd i loveeee lilly she is mee when i have writers block or any author who does lol and her idea of getting away and being alone in a cabin in the woods.... and no one knows she their alone.. that's a horror movie waiting to happen. And well she thinks she meets a Ax manic who happens to be Jayden who lives near her and thought she was a loud city person which she was lol but accidents happen and she twisted her ankle having Jayden heal her back to health and have Lilly get her muse for her new book..

Sweaty log chopping sweat wearing abs mountian man... yuppp that gave her a muse to start writing her book ;) and more imagination when she tries to seduce him.. talk about awkward 🤣🤣🤣

Perks of a Slip and Fall

3.5 stars - I enjoyed this book. Lily's penchant for word vomiting and an overactive imagination are hilarious.

Lily ha alquilado una cabaña en medio de la nada para poder relajarse y cumplir su sueño: ser escritora. Pero las cosas no están yendo como deberían, la inspiración no viene y cuando sale a pasear en medio de la nieve para airearse termina con un tobillo esguinzado y siendo rescatada por un hombre enorme. Pero este último puede que sea su solución a todos sus problemas...

Hasta ahora, de todos los libros que he leído de Olivia creo que este es el que más flojito ha sido. Ni que sea malo me refiero a que en este por ejemplo la locura posesiva del protagonista no era tan marcada desde el primer momento, Jayden era muy dulce siempre entonces la autora no lo hizo tan cavernícola como los demás. Aún así la historia ha estado muy bien como siempre para pasar el rato!

Not my favorite from this author, but man it was funny. Three stars.

“Why are you screaming?”
“You’re about to chop my head off!” I shout in a panic. “What am I supposed to be doing?”
The ax murdering mountain man glances down at the ax in his hand and then tosses it onto the ground.
Now’s my chance! He’s unarmed!
I push away from him and start awkwardly log rolling down the not-so-steep hill. In my head, I pictured myself flying down the hill at a breakneck speed, but I’m just kind of flapping around like a half-dead fish.

Plot: Lily is up in the mountains, staying in a rented cabin, intending to get some writing done. While wandering in the woods, she gets lost and injured, but luckily there's a mountain man nearby to help her out. He's growly and grumpy, but he knows what he wants: Lily.

Commentary: Why do heroines in the mountains always roll their ankles? Every time.
Okay story, moderate connection between the characters, moment of tension when she's leaving. Not my favorite in the series, but still fun.

When Lily goes on a little vacation to write a book and has writer's block, she finds herself walking in the woods to get inspiration. While walking, Lily finds herself being helped by Jayden who knows right away that he wants her.

I’m in a book slump from the last book I read because it was just so good, I tried reading this to get going again. It didn’t work lmao.

I was pretty much grazing through this because it just wasn’t interesting me. The FMC was annoying me a lot most of the time with her inner dialogue.

Thank God for the age-appropriate FMC this time. At least the FMC acknowledges that the mountain man can be a criminal for all she knows. We love a self-aware book. And she is funny too... I'll give her that. I couldn't help but laugh at the epilogue.

I have loved almost all of this author’s work because even when the plotline was less than realistic, the chemistry between the MCs has always been spot on. Her heroes are always super yummy, and her heroines are likable, if not a sometimes naive. Lily, the heroine in this book, crosses over into frustratingly silly side of naïve and that dropped my enjoyment. I mean, she injures her ankle, is surprised by what she thinks is an axe murderer (really the hero) and decides that the best way to escape is to ROLL AWAY? *sigh* No. Jayden, the Hero, also seemed to lack the intensity that I have come to expect and look forward to when reading Ms. Turner’s books and was very Beta. At the end of Lily’s vacation, she is literally trying (and failing) to put her suitcase into the trunk of the car to leave and he is standing there immobile. Of course everything works out in the end. Perhaps the author was going for a lighter, more comedic air this time around. Unfortunately, it just didn’t work for me, but I will continue to look forward to all her upcoming books.

Lily - an aspiring writer that decides to get away from her mundane office job in the city and rents a cabin in the mountains for a week to get started on her long put off romance novel. Only problem is? She draws nothing but blanks when she gets settled in her little getaway.
Jayden - a rugged mountain man that has lived in solitude for years now after leaving the city behind is knocked back when he runs across the beautiful Lily.
Put the two together and sparks fly - BUT will Lily finish her novel and will Jayden be able to leave his past where it needs to stay.

Olivia nails it with this short, sweet novella filled with insta-lust and insta-love. If you love handsome, rugged alpha mountain men and steamy scenes then this book is for you

Jayden likes the piece and quite, that's the whole reason that he moved to the mountains. When he stumbles upon Lily, injured and scared, he knows his life is about to change. Now to convince her that this is the where her dreams can come true.

I loved this insta love! Lily had me in stitches from the very beginning with her witty banter with herself and her obsession with ax murderers. Loved her quirkiness. It was a steamy read with tons of OTT heat that you’ve come to expect from Ms. Turner. Can’t wait for what she comes up with next!

I know diving into an Olivia T Turner story, I know I will laugh and fall in love! These short novellas are the perfect fit for my walks and I love them! This one features Lilly. She would love to be an author, and struggles to get her story going. Escaping to a cabin in the mountain, with the fresh air and quiet should be the perfect setting to get something done. That is until she hurts herself and is found by the mountain man. Jayden has been on the mountain for years. Loving his solitary life, this inconvenience is just that. A city folk that is intruding on his land. Until he gets a good look at her. And he is done for. Our story begins. It's fun, and flirty, spicy and all around good for the heart. If you need a pick me up with an alpha male and a spunky woman, this is it!

Tor Thom and Fiona Clare bring it all to life. Thom is so good as Jayden. Annoyed at first and sensual at last! He pulls out all the stops for his performance as he woos his woman. Clare is so good a Lilly, with a bit of attitude, and such fun with the inner monologue as she writes. I love this team, their duet style is always the best and makes the listens that much better. This is a fun one not to be missed.

The plot was fast paced, understandable and appreciable writing that don't make me lose my few precious brain-cells, characters that really are personable and a HEA, duh.
Tho that 30 year epilogue.. okay maybe not that cute.

This book danced on the line between hilarious and cringe. Hopped from one side to the other quite a few times, actually.

If romance heroines are clumsy, this lady is their queen. Lily is so out of this world clumsy that she hurts herself badly.

(And don’t get me started with the seducing thing … I skipped around in that scene cus it was almost unbearable for me 😅)

He basically takes her hostage in his home to let his foot heal, not ever telling her that he found the key that she lost along the way.

Lily apparently is a writer, but her writing itself is just okay (the would be deleted words were amusing, I give her that) but that in 30 years she is a multiple New York Times bestseller with a few movie deals, a tv show and a few book tours? Yeah okay.
It’s nice to imagine but come on 😆
But maybe it’s as OTT as the stories that O.T.T. writes, huh?

So. Yeah.
Amusing, yet somewhat cringy read.

Except she’s hit a brick wall in the creative department and cannot come up with anything. Frustrated, she ventures outside in the deep snow. She trips and injures her ankle. Jayden, a muscular mountain man, spots Lily and comes to her rescue. He takes her back to his cabin since she locked herself out of her rental. Her ankle isn’t broken but she can’t put any weight on it. Jayden feels a strong connection with this beautiful girl and Lily realizes that he is her perfect muse for her book. Sparks fly between them and Jayden never wants to let her go.

Honestly, I love the mountain man trope, but these female MCs are so dumb. It’s painful.

There are so many reasons why I don’t like the female MC in this one, but one of the big ones is that she rents a cabin in the woods for a week, doesn’t tell ANYONE where she is going, thinks she’s going to write an entire masterpiece of a romance novel in that time, all while not having a single idea what she plans to write about. I mean, I’m not a writer, but if I had a gun to my head and had to write a book, I have like 25 ideas on what to write. She has no idea?! She never thought about a plot, characters, setting, research, anything?!

Olivia T Turner is a relatively new author to me. This book is narrated by Tor Thom and Fiona Clare who did a credible job. They work well together and their voices are easy to listen too.

Although not a particularly long book, the author packed a fair bit into it. There were moments that had me laughing out loud with the antics of Lilly and Jayden.

Lilly wants to be an author and she is injured mountain man Jayden comes to her res us in more ways than one.

There was plenty of heat, humor and entertainment and I found myself smiling at the end with the performances by Tor and Fiona.

Lily books a week off to spend time at a secluded cabin in the mountains so she could write her first book.. she's having no luck, the words just won't come to her. Deciding to go for a walk she sprains her ankle. Luckily Jayden was nearby to help her out. Lily lost her keys to her cabin so she had to stay with until her ankle heals up.
Jayden never had a reaction to a girl like that before and knew instantly he want to keep her. He will do anything to have her in his life.
Lily getting hurt and Jayden saving her was meant to be. They were meant to be.

Loved it!!!!

OTT is the Queen of smexy quick reads & over the top Alpha male cavemen and I am here for them all! I seriously laughed out loud through the first couple of chapters - absolutely fantastic! Lily and Jayden are an amazing couple who have a hilarious meet-cute that leads to completely, utterly and fabulously NSFW scenes and a great HEA. Loved the extended epilogues. Loved it!!!

hilarious

Lily is the funniest character Olivia has ever written.

I CRIED laughing at their first meet scene. Seriously, I don't laugh much, but I belly laughed for a good five minutes and even thinking about it later.

Anyway, I digress. It was a good read with fantastic characters, there was something missing for me with this book compared to the others, I'm not sure what, but I had to give it 5 stars as it had me laughing out loud through out the book.

Quirky and funny over the top instalove fun. Quite a few cringe-worthy moments with our awkward heroine Lily, and I was a little slower than usual to warm to the hero - reclusive mountain man Jayden - but as usual there was plenty of steam, and a happy ending - this time with 3 lovely future epilogues.
