‘This series is going to be at the top of my re-read list for the foreseeable future.’ – Jemma R – Amazon customer
Philip started his career as an emergency nurse and began writing the books he’d want to read as a hobby between shifts.
He published his first novel in 2016, and soon began his epic fantasy series, The Echoes Saga which went straight into the Amazon bestsellers list in 4 countries.
Now one of the best-selling indie authors worldwide, Philip lives in Manchester, England with his wife and two young children and is hoping this is just the beginning.
Having first come across the author's later works in the field of Fantasy writing I feel his later work is better written. That may be due to natural progression and improvement, his preference or comfort with a different genre, or even my own preferences. Either way it's just my opinion. What has remained constant is the imaginative and engaging story telling with a plot than spans eons and I look forward to reading more of his work.
A little slow at first but Quaintrell always pulls me in.
4 stars because it is a little slow at first and it could use a little spell checking but, the writing is well done and enjoyable. Honestly, I'm a big fan of Mr. Quaintrell after reading his fantasy series. I do so love a series that takes longer than a few days to read. It always makes me sad when they end. I am definitely looking forward to more by this author. He is in my top ten to read for sure.
It started out alittle hard to get in to but if you keep reading you'll all a sudden find yourself amazed at what you've been taken in to. Its a story you have to be able to see in your mind. Yes you have to be able to see it. I hope you enjoy the read.
It's a good series a bit long , but it has interesting characters and is a fun read. I would read awhile and then wait a few weeks and then read some more. I have read the other books by the writer and he doesn't disappoint, plenty of action and interesting characters. Enjoy!
Overall a really enjoyable series that I devoured in a few days. The characters developed well over the series and the unfolding of the layers of the Terran mystery was well done
Great 5 star read for the sci fi fan. Well build characters, well told stores running concurrently on a solid story line that thrilled, engaged and encapsulated in a sci fi universe full of wonder, action and intrigue! A 5 star recommendation for the sci fi fan is a must... it will not disappoint!
One of the best stories I've read in a while. The story line is gripping and doesn't get cluttered up with top much detail it has enough detail to make it believable but doesn't get cluttered.
This was a great series with well defined characters. Something that I have come to expect from Philip Quaintrell. See his Echos Saga if you want another good read.
A well paced collection of books with memorable characters, a strong arching plot and great development. Wonderful to see the author seamlessly shift from fantasy (Dragorn series) to sci fi that is on the level with Hamilton and Reynolds.
A very good read. Lots impossible challenges. Great imagination. Interesting concepts on time, alien cultures, power and greed. Many heroes and villains.
I really enjoyed this series. I was trying to figure out the direction and was wrong at every turn! Really holds your interest and then some. I found myself wanting to sneak away to read just a chapter of two.
Indeed it took discipline to put the set down to sleep or do chores. As I have with other Quaintrell books, just love the characters and non-stop, intense action. Now, I'm off to finish Echoes Saga.
Really good read, great sci fi, it was a pleasure getting to know the characters their flaws and challenges. Well written and engaging to the very end.
It would be an effort to find anything unfavorable about this book. The imagination, time and devotion are extraordinary. This work is a compliment to the author.
This was a awesome read. I was hooked!! Loved the visuals. I just wanted to sit in my reading chair and not move. A truly enjoyable series I would definitely recommend.
wow what a great series, i usually find long series start to get old and stilted after a few books, this one just kept getting better and better as it went on.
First the moaning; I have little time to read, so it’s mostly when I get to bed - unfortunately whenever I read Philip Quaintrell’s books I always read longer than I mean to, which leads to health warning: Read this book at risk of sleep! Also final book in the cycle is not well edited (I’m over it). Now the compliments; I love a good Space Opera and this was absolutely brilliant! Very glad to have got the entire cycle as I also love a long read. You can also amuse yourselves by identifying all the tongue in cheek references to other Sci-fi however it’s clear to me that myself and the author have very similar taste.
Loved Quaintrell's style of writing. Haven't read a good episodic sci-fi adventure series since Heinlein and Asimov. I've also read his fantasy novels and will continue to follow. Would recommend his work to anyone who has a love for sci-fi and fantasy. And to anyone who knows there is so much more out there.....
