Beings of myth and legend exist.

My name’s Jack. I’m a relatively average guy working as an IT consultant. I had some interesting experiences as a soldier before I took up my current profession, but basically, I'm an average normal guy since then.

It was pure dumb luck that I met a gorgeous woman on an airplane, and we hit it off. I’m usually seated next to the fat, talkative guy, sweating alcohol out of his pores. Instead, I got to sit next to an exotic beauty, and she decided to be my companion for the day. You can’t make this stuff up!

It all started with that ‘truth stranger than fiction’ scenario, and yet...that is the least crazy thing about everything that followed in my life after that day. Beings of myth and legend exist. No, really! If you ever read about fantastic beings in a fairy tale or myth, the odds are they exist - or they are based on something equally fantastic. I always enjoyed reading about them, but never dreamed they existed.

What really twisted my noodle is that apparently, I am one. Hold onto your knickers, while I tell you about this crazy ride I’m on.

WARNING: This story is an adult fantasy for mature folks. As such, this story includes unusual interpretations of myth and legends, faerie violence, descriptions of genitalia, descriptions of sexual activities, mixing of US, UK, and Indian idioms, panamorous relationships, harem relationships, romance, bromance, BFFs, cursing, bathroom selfies, off-beat humor, eating food while naked or partially naked, drinking, going to the bathroom, the insurance industry, the IT consulting industry, and many other things that might possibly offend someone in our judgemental society.

If you are offended by any of those things, then go forth to enjoy life elsewhere. I wish you the best.

If you’re not dissuaded, then...

I didn't like this story as I found myself skimming through it. It was long-winded and wish-fulfilling on the author part. I didn't like any of the women either so this was a flop to me. It needs a good looked after because of the grammar, missing words and there were some misspelling here and there.

Not my cup of tea. Suffice to say these lines were in the book:
“Myra, I firmly believe that I don’t get a say in what you do with your body or who you give it to. I don’t like how they treat you like a mindless broodmare, and I don’t like that you choose to tolerate it. That said, I know that you and I have something special..."

That coming from a 50yo guy.

The dialogue was also quite jarring. Nobody talks like that or uses that many vocatives.

Well worth the read

I preface this review with the fact that this book is most definitely not fade to black!

I found book this through a harem FB group so knew what I was getting into, but the blurb provided didn't really give anything away. I was intrigued and while waiting for my more regular authors to add more to their respective book universes I grabbed this and I am glad that I did! This is the debut novel for JG and I have to say that I am now waiting impatiently for the next to part to come.

I love the fact that the mc is a 50 year old male who has actually done lots with his life and has life experience. I sometimes get frustrated when the mc is in his 20's and is an expert at everything. YouTube can only teach so much! The book is pretty much in the same genre as Laurell K Hamilton (who he obviously reads as there are references to both her books and her characters). It is urban fantasy with elves, side, pixies and a wealth of cultural history that is fun to read.

As an indi author there are a few typos/formatting issues but considering the length of this masterpiece they neither detract or pull you out of the story as other authors have forced me to do in the past.

Hopefully this is the start of something beautiful and JG continues this series past the 4 volumes he is thinking it will be.

Gorgeous

This book epitomizes good writing. It is a finely crafted bourbon of a fantasy harem story, filled with rich and incredibly detailed events, characters, plot, magic, history, and character interactions (in many ways). The plot meanders beautifully across this landscape, and while you may not know exactly where you’re going, you’re delighted to take the ride.

Technically it reminds me of The Daniel Black, or The Portals of Infinity, or The Night Lord series. It has great detail, a wandering narrative (which I love) and you can easily feel the author’s experience in the actions the characters take, from the mundane to the practical. The editing is fantastic- polished and professional, with barely a stray item here or there. This especially true for the sheer size of the work! It’s an amazing effort and definitely appreciated.

Lastly, I have to say that the characters are mesmerizing. So rich and wonderful. From the major to the minor, they all get gorgeous detailing that let you see them in an instant. Outstanding.

This is an author to watch folks. If this is book one... well. Better hydrate and get ready for book two.

Most definitely recommended (21+ for content, scope, and detail: you need some age on you to really appreciate the depth here)

Nope. Some good bits, but way too slow and boring.

Nope. Some good bits, but way too slow. It's basically a moment to moment first person account of the MC's life. Every stupid, useless, boring detail. Every time he takes a sip of water, every time he goes to pee, brushes his teeth... Everything! The sex scenes are very good, the action scenes very short, something like 5 pages total, francaly the first 50% of the book nothing happens but one good sex scene. The pace picks up at about the 80% mark but it's still boring because of the useless moment to moment description.

Very good start

While there are the obvious fiction elements, the MC actually behaves like a well adjusted 50+ year old adult. Just the right amount of self confidence (no wining) along with the understandable gratitude towards the others he encounters. The women are over the top, but that is the norm for this genre. The story itself contains a progression of unlikely, but fun, coincidences that build into a nice storyline. Not a lot of conflict (yet?), but that fits with the MC's powers.

Interesting and creative from page 1

Erotic urban fantasy with lots of pop-culture references. Saw a number of things I've experenced myself from a Tomato, avocado, cucumber salad to things I'm unlikely to experience such as attracting multiple fae gf's. As with other of the author's books, the writing is clear, detailed and well thought out. All told this was quite an enjoyable read.

Ignore the details

Clumsy writing, boldly erotic and BADLY in need of a good editor, yet there is something that kept me reading through this brick of a book. Recommended for those of you who can see past these faults and to the story behind and those of you that enjoy a good harem story.

A happy surprise!

I really enjoyed this book. The story and writing are both very good. I prefer a caring MC, so this was perfect for me. There is a good balance of action, sex, world building, and story points. I got it on unlimited, but am buying it and the other books in the series because I enjoyed it so much!

An intelligent MC

Finally, some fantasy with adults... very well done. Pretty well edited and nothing really to spark the grammar. Nazis. A very good first book.
I'm getting the next one right away so I can bring this over the weekend!

You will love it

Read it. You will not be disappointed. I read all 3 books in almost as many days. Please do a 4th and carry on the story. I want to hear what happens next! I read this series and then straight into accidental necromancer. They were just as great

Good series start

I liked the book and I think the series will be fun. The author has I corporates the fun parts of the fae mythos. While I really enjoy the basis of the book and the growth of the new Lord, I feel that the love thing is a little over the top. I'm not talking about the sex or harem. That's all cool and fun. I just going the interaction a bit to flowery and melodramatic. However, that said, I will read on as I like the action.... when it happens.

There is a scenario when there is too much sex in a story and this book is pretty much mindless 70% sex.

And it's not titillating, graphic or too sexy; no the true sin is that there's so many sex scenes that everything suffers. They're filler, full stop. Critical mass happens when you can't be bothered to remember the next replaceable sex-partner that shows up - who cares since they come out of the woodwork at no consequence?

The harem is both unbelievable and sick. I believe polyamorous love can work, but this has the stench of the power fantasy of a Nice Guy. Not remotely believable and this series barely counts as a modern fantasy.

Tiny kernels of interesting ideas, such as the source of the Green Lord abilities and their true effect in the world stage. But then it gets 100% Marty-sue/Second coming of Jesus and I have to ask "why are there more books when he has everything he wants by the middle of book 1?"

0 character growth. Skippable and highly recommend other reader to do skip sex scenes if you try this series.

There is a good story buried in here. It unfortunately (imo) is buried under too much repetitive sex/emotional affirmation scenes.

I know that some people like this, and the author lists some author influences who are into varying levels of "I love you/I love you" and slice-of-life that I have had to stop reading in the past for the same features. Again, this is taste, and my 2-star score is for MY overall experience.

The writing and grammar quality is good, and there is definitely some material to work with here. This book could easily lose 100 or so pages and tighten up the story. That book would bump my score up to a 4 most likely.

I write this in the hope that the author will hoist it aboard and write a tighter follow-on book. I'll give it a chance, but after slogging through this one it had better catch my attention quickly. It's a first book and there is a lot of room for improvement. but the potential is there.

A fine blend of genres in an interesting Southwest ramble.

An interesting take on characters from several Celtic/English myths in an Arizona made believable by the presence of more than heat. The focus of the narrative among plots is definitely more slice of life and a homesteading journey than the implied hero’s journey, which suits the author’s decision to explore themes of love. The relationships are interesting, and the smut is plentiful but not overdone. Comparable banter to several romance authors, and respectful of poly/bi considerations. The foreword and entering quote may seem at odds, but after reading the book they both belong.

Minus one star for deus ex machina in a plot-irrelevant manner towards the epilogue. Since I want you to read the book I won’t spoil it. If you dislike explicit language, or smut, feel free to skip.

Hesitant!

I was very hesitant to give this book a rating of five although it is a fabulous read. The reason for my hesitation is the way that there was so much going on and it was all just left hanging. I sincerely hope to see a sequel soon. In it, I hope Megan joins the crew. Although she and Myra are sisters, it should be in line. ( I think). Thank you for your work, it is awesome how you combined the fantasy world and the business world in the same book!😁

A Stunning Debut

This story roared in with a bang! Immediate development and deep characters. I'm impressed by how smooth the plot runs and how well the time is managed with the huge supporting cast. I hope the next is a bit easier to get into because this one stumbled just a bit inn the first chapter of two. But still a stunning debut, and I eagerly await the next.

Excellent first book

Absolutely loved this book. If the author didn’t tell us that this was his first book I would not have believed it. The characters were so well written and there were so few grammatical mistakes that I was totally engrossed in the story from beginning to end. Really looking forward to the next one and hope to read it sooner rather than later.

An excellent read

This was a fantastic read, that brought to life the world and characters. This certainly has adult only content. Having said that, it is one of a few that doesn’t rely on these scenes to make the story. Very much enjoyed this and hope that someone like the narrators for wild wastes or the good intentions series is used if this is turned into an audio format!

A Very Good Read

Just finished this book. I must say that I enjoyed it tremendously. Yes, the author use words and technical explanations that are WAY over my head. BUT he does not get you lost in the jargon. To me , it is clear that the author is going for an entertaining book, without trying to impress us with what he I knows. Strongly recommend reading this book.

Really enjoyed it, couldn’t put it down all day till I had finished it. Very explicit at times, but overall a great story. Looking forward to the next in the series.
