When Mary Lee Thomas’s husband dies, she learns that to keep their farm, she must marry her husband’s brother, her former love, Sheriff Wade Thomas, or the farm will be sold. She’s still attracted to him, yet feels Wade wants her now only as a way to keep his home place.
