Courtney saw Dave at the rest stop off the highway. Alone and afraid and hungry and being pursued by thugs, she jumps into his car at the last minute as he’s pulling back onto the road and off into the desert for a vacation. Yeah, she’s desperate, but it’s still love at first sight for both of them. And as long as they are honest with each other, things just might work out. If they get away from Courtney’s past, that is.
Having adored ALL of her previous books, this one is the best so far. What's better than adored? Hell, I don't know, but this is it! Marilyn, thank you for this wonderfully, highly erotic object lesson in honesty. I always learn something new and special from reading your work. This was most definitely worth the wait.
Overall, it was well done, well edited. A lot of unusual presumptions, basically of you just turn your brain off and suspend disbelief it's enjoyable. A little, slice of life-ish in spots, I find the pacing slow. Not a lot of smut either, though interesting things and erotic conversations abound. It's not spectacular, but it's an interesting subject material and kind of baits to want the next book. Not quite cliffhanger, but somewhat unresolved. I'll try the next maybe, hopefully it picks up.
This is my 2nd reading of this series. I don't remember that it was such a truly erotic read. Marilyn employs a lot of dialog to let you know what each character is thinking. So I am totally invested in each person when the sexy stuff happens. What FUN without being boring like you get from most author's of erotcia. Highly recommended. 😀
Terrible story....not believable at all! What a waste of time....never reading another of her stories Don't bother...blah..blah..blah! Don't waste your tine
Marilyn Foxworthy has knocked it out of the part again. Makes you hunger for her next book- all the time. Thoroughly enjoyable. Her familiy and friends are blessed by her, as are her readers.
I am beginning to really love reading Ms Foxworthy’s stories. They are Sexy, funny, believable characters, some times a little sad. Well worth the time spent in reading this story
Fans of Marilyn Foxworthy know what to expect from her by now, so for anyone who isn't familiar with her I will tell you what to expect: a very personal, intimate story with well rounded characters that interact with each other in a very natural way. In a bit of a departure from her other works, this book tells a more "slice if life" type of story than Ms. Foxworthy's usual fare. Dave is a man who is taking a vacation without a destination in mind. His father was just declared dead after being lost at sea in a glider accident (which you can read about in The Cave Girl, which is a more typical Foxworthy fantasy novel) and he is just going wherever his heart leads him. When suddenly, a woman named Courtney literally jumps into his car and his life. I won't go any farther into the plot suffice it to say that Dave and Courtney have great chemistry and are genuinely likeable people. My only complaint is that it ends a bit abruptly, but I am looking forward to where this series goes.
I never could quite get into this one. It started off with a Scooby Doo Mystery, my least likable choice in books. It just moved so slowly, with so much repetition, I just couldn’t get into it. Porn stars, the nouveau rich, being chased by the proverbial ‘bad guys’.....it was just too silly, and too Scooby Doo for me. If that is what you like in a ‘romance’ you should be happy here. Otherwise, it’s not a book I could finish, needless to say, it’s not a book I would recommend.
I have read all of Ms. foxworthy books and I really like them all so far. In this one, it was enjoyable to see the happiness and changes in life in multiple people If they are willing and open and NOT worrying about everything and picking life apart to make it more difficult. Really enjoyable change of pace.
While I know I was warned that there would be a lot of dialogue, there was even more than I expected. However I could have endured the dialogue, if the story had made sense, but it didn't to me.
It is typical of Foxworthy's books. Multiple partners making love together. Weird situations prevail and a lot of dialogue/description. Easy to read though.
This was another fun read. I have to at this is very much like the others i have read yet different. All are fun, sexy and enjoyable. Looking forward to more in this series.
I read both these Honest Attractions books which were recommends that introduced me to Marilyn Foxworthy. Really enjoyable, risqué & interesting stories.
