Taking Love and Law Seriously...

Zach Turner is a dedicated search and rescue cop. The only wife he needs is his work wife, Aiden O'Connell, and his K-9 partner, Harley. That doesn't mean he's not into the ladies, because he totally is, but he doesn't want anything serious. Casually dating is more his speed, that is until he meets Erica Cruz through Aiden's girlfriend. Something about her intrigues Zach, but she wants nothing to do with him because of his playboy ways and lack of faith.

Erica Cruz has a great life. She enjoys spending time with her best friend, Lindsay, serving at church with the junior high kids, and working as a dental assistant. The only thing missing is a good, Christian man in her life. She's tried all the different ways of finding one from the church singles' group to online dating, but she's had nothing but bad luck. The worst of the worst is Zach, who she has avoided since she met him through Aiden, Lindsay's husband. He's done nothing but hit on her since they first met. All she wants to do is stay away from him, but fate has a different idea.

Erica never knew her father, so when he dies and leaves everything to her, she's surprised. But when she finds out her inheritance is worth billions, surprise turns into shock as her world turns upside down. To make matters more complicated, she starts receiving threats against her life. As she digs into her father's corrupt past, she realizes that money isn't the only thing she's inherited. She's also gained a massive list of her father's enemies and one of them is willing to kill her to set things right. Erica decides to reach out to her friends on the Clear Mountain Police Department, but the only person able to bodyguard her and go with her to Amsterdam to find out the truth, is Zach.

Can they find a way to get along for the sake of Erica's protection? Will they find out who is trying to harm her and why before it's too late? And will they finally give into the attraction that has been secretly simmering just below the surface?

BROKENNESS MENDED

I enjoyed this clean Christian based story that is an addition to the contemporary Lawkeepers series and one that involves a bodyguard. There is a great cast of characters along with two special people when life-threatening issues will bring them together, and that will lead to a relationship. This story has strong Christian principles and faith in God without being preachy.

A great addition to the Lawkeeper Romance stories, this one was a definite page-turner full of mystery, suspense, danger, and threats. From the time I started reading it, I did not want to put it down. I loved the action, mystery, suspense, and protection. The story takes place in Clear Mountain, Colorado and works well with the others in the series by Ms. Jenna Brandt. It will have many previously introduced characters but can read as a stand-alone.

Erica Cruz has a good life, loves the Lord, and serving in church ministries, she works as a dental assistant and has several wonderful friends. What she doesn’t have is a man in her life, one who shares her values and Christianity.

Then there is K-9 officer, Zach Turner, he lives the 'love them and leaves them' attitude when it comes to the opposite sex. Going to the Lucky Penny, throw back a few drinks, pick up a woman for the night and move on.

The plot will have Erica and Zach not getting along—but that isn’t anything new. They just have a way of rubbing each other wrong. “The problem was, he was an obnoxious, egotistical playboy and she had no time for a guy like that, let alone one who openly ridiculed her faith.”

A work incident will be a wake-up call for Zach, and after multiple invitations to join them at Clear Mountain Assembly, he will show up and fall under the conviction of God’s word.

“Broken people have sharp edges. Many of you have been hurt by past traumas and betrayals, and you wear you sharp edges like a shield. The problem is, the shield keeps the good and the bad out alike, and you will keep yourself from the good in life as much as the bad.”

The story will have Erica learning she is the recipient of a large inheritance from her father—a man she never met and didn’t even know he cared about her. But with that inheritance, comes many problems, from news media to nasty comments from townsfolk, and then to be followed and threatened. Erica doesn’t even know if she wants the money—but then learning that something sinister has happened, she decides she must go to Amsterdam—and Zach insists he goes with her as her bodyguard to keep her safe.

The story is a roller-coaster ride of emotions for both Erica and Zach, but together, they open up and lean on each other. Sadly, the story will have the good, the bad, and the ugly of humans—never knowing her father, what she does learn may explain why her mother never wanted him in her life. Best of all, it has a beautiful and happy ending.

A wonderful Christian romance. Zach finally gets his match in Erica. IT WAS good seeing Zach fall in love after being determined no one woman was for him, because he wanted to see who he wanted a couple of times, then leave them for someone else. Even though I was given a copy of this book, this is my true and honest opinion if the book.

I absolutely loved this book! The characters were awesome, the banter between Zach and Erica were so funny. This story had it all from action with bad guys to romance. I love that the author wrote into the story of Gods saving grace and showed that in the book. I was so entertained and could not put the book down.
Was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.

Sigh! I love a good romance...

Jenna Brandt has once again released another great read. Back once again in Clear Mountain where we get to catch up with old friends; like Lindsay, Aiden, Erica, Zach, and so many more. We pick back up with everyone a couple years after Aiden & Lindsay's wedding. They are still happily married with kids. Erica is still a dental hygienist, who spends most of her time volunteering and helping others. Zach is still single, quiet full of himself, engaging in casual sex while chasing Erica down every time they end up together. Erica and Zach are definite opposites in almost every way. Every time they are around each other sparks fly. Not always in a good way...like 99% of the time, that is!!!

Through a ton of circumstance Zach ends up being the one person Erica can count on to help her after she ends up in trouble. Trouble due to a father she never even knew that had died and then named Erica the sole heir. Setting her up for a whole new world of trouble. Zach had already begun to make some changes in his life. So when Erica found herself in over her head, Zach was the answer to prayer. Through the circumstances they end up spending time together, getting to know each other better.

But is it enough to overcome the relationship obstacles that have been present since the very beginning? Is it enough to get them through these problems? Is it even enough to bank any sort of future on considering where things have stood up until now? So many questions! So many possibilities!

I am a fan of Jenna Brandt's work. From her historical to contemporary romance. I love them all. Lawfully Devoted: A Billionaire Bodyguard Lawkeeper Romance is no different. This book, like all her others, contains no bedroom scenes and no bad language. The perfect book to escape life for when you need a break. I love sitting down and reading a chapter here & there throughout the day when I need a break. I highly recommend this book to everyone that is a fan of good, clean romance that always contains a happy ending.

Billions Unwanted

Erica, a Dental Assistant, is happy with her life like it is before she received the phone call which changed her life forever. She is asked to meet with a lawyer from Amsterdam who traveled to Denver to meet with her about her father's Will. She never knew her father as her parents separated before her birth. But he left her with over $2 Billion dollars plus a letter explaining why she never met him. It was because of some bad choices he made as a young man. Her best friend Lindsay is married to a K 9 Search and Rescue and also a Police Officer in their small town. Before this time, Erica has been saving to get a new car since her car is about to bite the dust.

Soon after her huge inheritance is given to her, she gets a threatened about giving back what she has to the people it belongs to in the beginning. Fearful of what is going on, she hires her best friend's partner Zach to protect her especially as she goes to Amsterdam to see the lawyer again as well as to learn more about her father. What she and Zach learn isn't all good, but part of the trip is fun. Another part is frightful. Zach has warned Erica in his life for a long time, but until he gave his life to Jesus, Erica wasn't going anywhere with him. I thought Erica always treated Zach poorly before he gave his heart to the Lord. I was concerned by her attitude as well as his awful life style. But things began to change shortly afterward. While he is responsible for her safety, they get much closer. The suspense in the story is good. It's an easy read.

Rough start

This couple is the definition of opposites attract. But, like Lindsay, Erica comes across as stuck up. She evens adds some hostility to the mix. Some of the things she has said is really vile and mean, not exactly shining examples of Christ's love. (Not saying christians are perfect. They're not. But when they have moments where they mess up or say/do something mean, they should own it by apologizing and asking forgiveness. Not double down.)
One of the things that I did love about these lawfully books from Ms. Brandt was the accuracy/authenticity of the police procedures. Until, the scene in the woods where Zach has his "life flashing before bus eyes" moment. Harley would have attacked that man long before he got near Zach. K-9s don't wait for the command to attack when their partner is in trouble. They're trained to attack anyone that goes after their partner. (At least that's how our department does it.) I was a little disappointed in that scene. The procedural details were so on point, up until then.
The action part of the story wasn't terrible (except for the part where Erica left Zach to go it alone-very cliche). And I always love the happily ever afters.
But I think this will be my last book by the author. It's teeming with judgement and characters are made to look awful in comparison to others. And that doesn't sit well with me.

This was a great story that progressed very fast, but was well written. I liked seeing Erica again and getting to know her a little better in this book. Erica is determined to find the right man for herself. She tries everything. Yet she continues to run into Zach. Zach is a playboy that lives life for himself. I liked the change that happens in Zach's life and how it affects the rest of the book. This book was difficult to put down as the plot kept moving. Overall this was a great story that was very engaging. I recommend this to anyone that loves clean, sweet romance with a little suspense.
I received a copy of this book. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Bodyguard?

She never expected to need a bodyguard. And if she did it certainly wouldn't be him. He's so obnoxious, and he never dates the same woman two nights in a row. That's a little difficult, considering the size of the town.
But she has an inheritance from the father she never knew. The kind of inheritance no decent man would leave his daughter.
That's why she needs a bodyguard. And the FBI. And Interpol. And the authorities in the Netherlands.
She winds up with no inheritance. But that's okay. She has a husband who is a new man under God.
Recommended for all readers of clean romantic suspense.

Most Enjoyable!
Another lovely, sweet story in this series, this time about Zack and Erica and it tells us how Zack accepts God into his life and his pursuit to win Erica's heart.
Erica inherits a fortune from a father she has never known and this is when the story really hots up. There are many twists and turns and during this time the couple learn more about each other and fall in love.
I enjoyed this fast paced, page turner and happily recommend it.
I requested and received an Advance Reader Copy and my review above is voluntary and unbiased.

Lawkeepers, K-9's and Billionaire Bodyguards
Oh, this book has it all! It is a sweet, clean and Christian romance. It also is about Lawkeepers, K-9's and Billionaire bodyguards in Colorado. This is a good story that keeps the reader hopping. This story contains mountain rescues, kidnapped children, badge bunnies, Dutch organized crime, and the FBI. What a busy story! It reads like a clean action movie with a light devotional alongside. There was nothing not to like about this story. I can't wait for the next in the series(s). I received this book for free and this is my honest review.

When you’ve read the previous books you know Zach needs a good wife too. Erica is attracted to him but he isn’t the one for her with his lifestyle. But is he really happy? When something happens she needs protection. Will his change of mind and the getting to know each other better bring them together and keep them safe?
It is fun to read about the Netherlands. I know it’s fiction but I would have loved to read a more Dutch name for the Vineyard.
This story has romance, redemption and a lot of action. Another great addition to the Lawkeepers series.

Change for love

I enjoyed this fast paced story with just the right mix of romance and suspense. Just imagine coming into lots of money that turns out to be from illegal sources and now those illegal sources are coming for you. I loved the change that God made in Zach's life and how he championed for Erica especially due to their past dislike for one another. It shows how God and a good woman can change a man's ways if they let it.

Lawfully Devoted stands on its own, but I enjoyed catching up on the lives of characters from previous stories. This fast paced, well written story has it all - clean, Christian, danger, intrigue, healing past hurts, romance, inheritance in the billions, vineyards, bodyguards. I was dragged into the story on page one and could not put it down.

Good, clean story. Has dogs, excitement and a love story. Zack doesn't want a serious relationship and Erin doesn't want anyone that doesn't share her faith. Will they figure it out?

This is a good story of love, law, & mystery. It's interesting how Zach & Erica's relationship develops when at first she wants nothing to do with him. Then there is the mystery as to why someone wants her dead. A very clean, good romance.
