The best laid plans become happy surprises for two rugged Texas ranchers!
Unexpected Mommy
Single father Chance Adams will do anything to get back his share of the family ranch—even if it means charming his uncle’s ornery stepdaughter, schoolteacher Jenny Adams. But he isn’t prepared to fall in love…
Jenny always dreamed of finding the perfect man, but Chance, with his hellion, if lovable, son and his unbending grudge against her family, doesn’t exactly fit the picture. She knows he has a one-track mind—but is it just her imagination, or is he starting to feel something more?
The Cowgirl & The Unexpected Wedding
Lizzy Adams had long since stolen rancher Hank Robbins’s heart. And then one night, passion overcame common sense and left them both with more than just wonderful memories—there’s a baby on the way. Both are determined to “do the right thing.” For Lizzy, that means not roping the rugged rancher into marriage. But Hank has other plans…
With two other careers to her credit before becoming a novelist and four states in which she's lived for extended periods of time, Sherryl Woods has collected friends and memories, along with way too much unnecessary junk.
"The friends are the only things I've brought with me through the years that really matter," she says. "I could probably live without one more chintz teacup, another tin-litho sandpail or another snowglobe, but I need those friends."
The theme of enduring friendships and families is always central to Sherryl's books, including her latest Chesapeake Shores series — THE INN AT EAGLE POINT, FLOWERS ON MAIN and HARBOR LIGHTS.
Author of more than 100 romance and mystery novels, Sherryl Woods grew up in Virginia. Over the years she had lived in Ohio and Florida, as well as California. Currently she divides her time between Key Biscayne, Florida and Colonial Beach, Virginia, the small, river-front town where she spent her childhood summers.
A graduate of Ohio State University School of Journalism, Sherryl spent more than ten years as a journalist, most of them as a television critic for newspapers in Ohio and Florida. For several years she also coordinated a motivational program for the more than 8,000 employees at the University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Medical Center.
Her first book, RESTORING LOVE, was published in 1982 by Dell Candlelight Ecstasy under the pseudonym of Suzanne Sherrill. Her second book, SAND CASTLES, under the pseudonym of Alexandra Kirk, was published later that same year by Bantam. She began using her own name when she moved to the Second Chance at Love line at Berkley Publishing. In 1986, she began writing full-time and also began her long career at Silhouette Books with the Desire title NOT AT EIGHT, DARLING, set in the world of television which she covered for so many years.
In addition to her more than 75 romances for Silhouette Desire and Special Edition, she has written thirteen mysteries — nine in the Amanda Roberts series and four in the Molly DeWitt series.
When she's not writing or reading, Sherryl loves to garden, though she's not at her best on a riding lawn mower. She also loves tennis, theater, and ballet, even though her top spin has long since vanished, she's never set foot on a stage, and she's way too uncoordinated to dance. She also loves baseball and claims anyone who's ever seen Kevin Costner in "Bull Durham" can understand why.
I love this author. Her books are always so good. This book is little more special to me because it was the last book my pawpaw gave me before he passed away in 2022. I have had the book on my bookshelf but wasn’t ready until just now (2 year anniversary) to begin to open it. I will forever cherish this one just a little bit more than others because my Pawpaw gave me it.
I've read other books in this series and enjoyed catching up with new and old characters. It was a fairly quick read which helped take my mind off of some of the bad news of the world.
A perfect book for summer reading about a family which is committed to encouraging a romance between one of their girls and the men they approve of. Both these stories were interesting and fun to read. The women were smart and independent, the men were honorable and willing to commit. I loved the family and admired the stubbornness and independence of the girls while enjoyed the family and pressures they put on both the men and the women. I've never known anything about ruching, but the personalities and even the faults run true. It would be nice to have neighbors and friends like the characters in this book.
Twin stories about 2 headstrong sisters, the cowboys that love them and their meddlesome family. I liked the second one more, because Lizzy had a big decision as to follow her career dreams or stay at home and be with Hank. In the first, Jenny is just pursued by Chance, and she basically falls for him, because he's hot.
White Pines Summer contains two great stories by Sherryl Woods. Unexpected Mommy is Jenny and Chance's road to get to their happy ever after. The Cowgirl & the Unexpected Wedding is Hank and Lizzy's story telling how they get their happy ever after. I loved it all!
When I snagged this one from work I didn't realize this was a book three and four. I loved both stories and couldn't put these down. I loved the characters and the story and this cover was so great. These are great stories for this Summer!!
The author clearly doesn't respect women or their value as compared to their male counterparts. I found these stories antiquated, predictable and boring. If my mother hadn't given me this book I'd never have finished it. Truly awful.
These are fun, entertaining love stories. I won't go into how both seem to reflect male dominance in the decisions made in both stories. Still, they were fun if unrealistic in the events if placed in 2021. I did enjoy the fun incorporated into both forstories.
I found this in the discount section at the bookstore. It was my first book by Sherryl Woods and it was a cute little read. If you're looking for something fun and entertaining to distract you from the news of the world, this is it.
This book has been sitting on my TBR pile for over a year. I bought it originally thinking it was part of a different series so no wonder it took me this long to read it, as I picked this book up my mind was changed I love both stories in the book just wish they had more! The family these books were about are absolutely amazing.
This is a well written book, engaging, but dull. Its a sweet romance with zero flames. This book has two stores: Unexpected Mommy and The Cowgirl and the Unexpected Wedding. A great romance read for someone who likes chaste romances. Even less steamy than a Macomber novel.
