To Cameron, Halloween is the best time of the year, from the candy and decorations to dressing up and scaring visitors in a haunted maze. When an investor is about to end Halloween Fest forever by buying the farm that hosts it, Cameron will fight to the end. He's not sure why someone who's never seen a horror movie in his life wants to be his ally-and-a-whole-lot-more, but he's not going to turn down a hot, dedicated guy like Parker, even if they have nothing in common.
Parker loves nothing more than his job
Dragon shifter Parker Blackburn doesn't have time to spend his evening in a haunted maze with his friends. There's a district of shifters depending on him to find a solution to their problems and arguments, and Parker is wholly dedicated to his job. But when he meets his fated mate -- still gorgeous even dressed as a zombie and trying to scare him -- Parker has to learn a new set of skills. How to talk to a massive horror movie geek who doesn't know anything about shifters, for one.
When Parker reveals the truth about himself, what little common ground Cameron thought they had is turned upside down. With Parker flying high and Cameron feeling low, they'll have to find their way back to each other in order to save the farm -- and maybe their relationship too.
Halloween Dragon is a m/m paranormal dragon shifter/human romance with a HEA and no cliffhangers. It's the second book about the dragon shifters in Lewiston, but can be read as a standalone.

Segunda parte de la trilogía de dragones. Sinceramente me ha gustado mucho más la primera entrega, pues le da mil vueltas. Si bien los personajes son carismáticos, el argumento me aburrió un poco. Una pena.
A fun read with Dragons, charming dialogue and a good story-line. A good Halloween story filled with entertaining characters and a solid plot. I enjoyed the writing and the story kept me reading. Had a great time referencing scary movies that will make any movie buff smile.
Parker and Cameron are so cute together! i was happy to be back in Lewiston and seeing old friends. It was cool to see the next of the Keepers find his mate. Cameron is a good influence on Parker, forcing him to learn balance in his life and his dealings with his council and other shifters.
This is book two of the Lewiston Dragons series and it could be read as a stand-alone, but you would miss so much by missing book one. I'm looking forward to seeing Mitchell get his book.
I was gifted this book from the author and i freely give my honest opinion and review.
Halloween Dragon is the second book in the ‘Lewiston Dragons’ series. This story stars Parker Blackburn, Alpha dragon shifter and Keeper of the Peace, and Cameron, human and Halloween fanatic. This is told in third person from both Parker and Cameron’s povs.
How could I not love a couple whose relationship centered around Halloween? They were really sweet, but I was totally peaking through my fingers when Parker was being controlling before he learned not to do that.
This is a light read with no angst, nothing big at stake, and a happily ever after. Something for fun to read when you don’t really feel like thinking too much about what you’re reading and just want to enjoy a story.
However, I couldn’t stand the main character Cameron. Most of the main characters were written to be around thirty years old or older (like some on the council), but they sure didn’t act like it, with Cameron being the number one culprit. When it came to anything to do with the Fest and the possible sale he became a petulant, bratty teen with comments like “‘You know that Halloween Fest is over, thanks to you’” to Everett, and “Cameron speared another piece of tomato. “Maybe he’s coming to gloat. Rub it in our faces there won’t be a Fest next year,’” and how he acts during the initial scene of discovering the sale of the farm by storming off. Add in all his playful comments during the intimate scenes that came off as annoying, like telling Parker his skills in bed were up there but not at the top, with “‘I want you to keep trying to get better! No resting on laurels for you.’” I’m pretty sure most people aren’t going to want to hear that after being intimate and still laying in bed with each other. Honestly, Cameron could’ve been twenty years old and I would’ve believed his interactions a lot more.
I was honestly skim reading through to the ending once they came up with their plan for the farm. Since most of the action was done with, I didn’t feel as invested. Some of the actions, like the friend dinner, could’ve happened before the climax of the book, and the second sex scene felt forcefully added and almost a carbon copy of the first one, like the author needed to make sure it still felt like a m/m romance before we got to the end. I also was getting the message that while it’s okay for some people to be who they are (like Cameron being incredibly into Halloween and horror movies and just generally eccentric), other people should try to be different to be better people (like Parker and being shamed for working so much and being invested in his work to the point his friends continue to nag him to take a step back). We're given two extremes for main characters, and I don't feel like they were balanced well even with the message of opposites attract.
I did appreciate how the author handled the reveal of Parker being a dragon shifter, and how much more unique she made the shifters of the council. Maybe it was their different ages and what type of shifter they were, but they felt like they had more personality than just “bubbly and friendly” like Cameron, Stacy, Joel, Mitchell, and Thomas. Sadly I doubt I’ll be reading anything more in the Lewiston Dragons series, but I hope to give this author another go with a different book. As an ending note, I appreciated that the author included recommendations to other author’s works. It was cool to see the support for other creators in the same genre.
This book was heading rapidly towards a two star rating, or less, for at least the first half. I had so much trouble warming up to any of the characters. They were all so shallow and one-dimensional. And good grief, could Cameron be any more of an annoying, whiny, infantile brat? Even Parker, who was amazingly devoid of a personality, was more likable than Cameron. But then the writing turned itself around somewhat and the story became better as Parker became less uptight and Cameron stopped his endless brooding. In terms of shifter stories, I was rather disappointed. Everything about the shifters was mostly tell and not show. How do you write a shifter story about a dragon shifter finding his fated mate and he only shifts once during the entire story? Parker alludes to things he can do, even telling a surprised Cameron that he take him flying, but alas, we never get to see it. As a matter of fact, there is so little shown about the shifters, that it makes that part of the story almost irrelevant. The most positive thing I can say, and the one point that drew me to this story (and series) is that there is absolutely nothing to do with mpreg! Why is so hard to find a good m/m dragon shifter story that isn’t ruined by mpreg?
This one was a little more in realistic in its execution. The way the secret was revealed and everything that immediately followed was unbelievable. Cameron’s reaction to everything, despite the way it was written about how Parker made him feel felt “off” to me. In book 1, at least Joel knew the secret already so the reveal was basically the true mates thing. But in this book, Cameron knew absolutely nothing about that world and to go from knowing and accepting in basically 24-48 hours with little contact in that time was ridiculous. I would have thought he’d let him talk to Joel more first or asked questions about what he thought about some of the supernatural beings like werewolves or something since Parker did know those types of movies and books existed even if he hadn’t seen them, but nope… just jumped right into it with no lube or foreplay.
With this story having very little on Joel and Thomas, it still leaves me wondering what Travis Davies (Joel’s stepdad) meant when he said something about Thomas and Joel not being fully mated yet and Thomas replying that he was waiting until Joel was ready. It was never explained how they’d become “fully mated”. It makes me wonder if it’s like werewolves since in both stories reference is made to the sensitive part of the human mates neck. I hope it gets cleared up in Book 3. I also hope one gets written about Peacekeeper Douglas.
Parker Blackburn is a dragon shifter and also a keeper of the peace and when he is invited to participate in a Halloween Fest, he and his friends drag him through the haunted barn, there he meets Cameron Norwood, who is a human, but also his fated mate. Parker was used to being in control, when Cameron learned of him being a shifter and then dragging him to a council meeting without checking with him. First, he learned that his controlling ways was going to ruin his faded mates and his relationship, he student learned he had to release some of the things that he was doing, and let others take over and him just take over the supervisory role. Then they learned that the barn that they were using for Halloween fest was going to be torn down. The race is out to stop the sale and purchase the land for themselves. There is a happy ending for all involved, but especially for Cameron and Parker.
I am voluntarily leaving my review for this book and this is my honest and fair opinion.
I am giving this book 4/5 stars. I really enjoyed the book. Cameron loves all things Halloween and he volunteers at a local Halloween festival every year. He finds out the location is going to be sold and vows to fight until the bitter end. Enter Parker who is a very temp A dragon shifter. His friends talks him into going to the festival one night. He sees Cameron and knows that they are fated mates. Of course Cameron does not know about Parker’s world at all. He just knows that Parker is very controlling. There is no great evil in this story to vanquish. But two men must decide to make a relationship work despite their differences.
This is not a bad book and a lot have enjoyed seems. I just couldn't get into it. I tried but to me it focused way too much on the guy trying to buy the farm where Halloween Fest takes place than on the couple. Parker only shifted once into a dragon and I just wanted more. I wasn't happy with how Parker treated Cameron either. Oh I'm a dragon then tells him all this stuff that Cameron needs to do instead of asking him. I was just bored and skipping a lot it. I had also thought was male pregnancy since was shifter book which wasn't but hadn't said either way so that's on me, but give a try for you to decide.
The Odd Couple is nothing compared to Cameron and Parker. This one wasn’t quite as enjoyable as the first book, because both MCs are a bit infuriating. Cameron is high-strung and prone to emotional outbursts, while Parker is a stuffed shirt who often lets work override his life (and budding relationship). When they are together, it’s charming and wonderful. When they are at odds, I just wanted to knock their heads together and tell them TO TALK. Luckily it all works out (no surprise their, but the relationship was a bit frustrating. On to the final book of the trilogy.
Much like the first book in this series, the actual relationship reads like it was written by someone without a lot of adult relationship experience (as do Parker's scenes dealing with his council, i.e. as if they were written by someone without a lot of adult professional/job/corporate experience) ... but I still enjoyed it and hope this author continues to write and improve her craft. And I'm still going to pick up the third book to read Mitchell's story and be, in the words of Cameron from the story, "a completionist" - lol.
Parker meets his mate, his totally irrelevant and opposite mate. Cameron is into horror films and Halloween fest. Parker thinks it's a waste of his important time.
When fate matches these two she really new what she was doing. You will love this book where Cameron teaches Parker there is more to life then work and schedules. I loved it, great MC and storyline . Must read!
The first book was so good! What happened??? This book was nothing like it! Both Cameron and Parker annoyed me from the start. Cameron was like a toddler having a tantrum through most of the book. Parker was okay I guess. I mean, we did already know he was a workaholic from the previous book but he was also a jerk to his council. Thomas and Joel were so nice and had an actual conflict in their book this just threw me off. So disappointing.
It’s a short story with an improbable storyline even for a shifter tale. It seems to work though. Decent character development for the length of the story. Ends on a promise for a positive future.
I love it when a very different scenario happens in a book. It just makes it so much more interesting and certainly helps keep me involved. This was great with a mate match, but the Halloween aspect completely captivated me. Wonderful read! Highly recommended
This wasn't my favorite read, it was slow in progress and not really eye-catching. The only thing that I truly enjoyed was Parker and his social ineptitude when it came to conversing with just about ANYONE. Gave me Harvey Specter vibes when in a business-mode which I liked.
Book two of the Lewiston Dragons series and this time it is Parker (the control freak Dragon) who falls for his human fated mate (the Halloween fanatic) and sparks fly along with a whole range of booboos from both shifter and human. read and enjoy. further review in box set review
The MC is a horror movie fan and loves Halloween. That made this book good as the Halloween fest is shown in detail. Even though the other MC is a shifter, the book was almost like a normal romance except for the intense attraction between MCs and the shifters coming into play at the end.
I barely made it through this book. I don't know how a book about Halloween + a guy who can turn into an actual dragon can be boring, but it was SO BORING.
