About the author

Frigyes Karinthy (25 June 1887 in Budapest – 29 August 1938 in Siófok) was a Hungarian author, playwright, poet, journalist, and translator. He was the first proponent of the six degrees of separation concept, in his 1929 short story, Chains (Láncszemek). Karinthy remains one of the most popular Hungarian writers. He was the father of poet Gábor Karinthy and writer Ferenc Karinthy.
Among the English translations of Karinthy's works are two novellas that continue the adventures of Swift's character Gulliver. Voyage to Faremido is an early examination of artificial intelligence, while Capillaria is a polished and darkly humorous satire on the 'battle of the sexes'.

Bom dia.

František Korynty, nebo jak se ten maďar jmenuje, stojí za prvním větším zklamáním z Rubata. Co taky ale čekat od národu, který nám ukradl guláš a abysme se s nima nemohli hádat, vytvořil vlastní změť zvuků, kterýmu říkají maďarština a které zní, jako by koza kloktala kýbl bláta.

V tomhle písmenkovém guláši se jeden žurnálista rozhodne, že se dostane na onen svět, a tím nemyslím Slovensko. Takže vezme bloček a tužku a koupí si regiojet směr pátá dimenze. Pocuď to bylo všechno ještě docela zábavný a občas vyskočil nějaký náznak, že by se mohl konat maďarský O'Brien nebo Themerson, ale nikoliv. Po přesunu do páté dimenze dojde na cestování časem, kdy se žurnálista potkává s Ježíšem, Césarem a dalšími pošuky, což má být asi funky, ale je to zábavný asi jako dívat se na archiv Banánových rybiček.
