Rufus Jamisey Claremont, Jaime for short, is the brooding image of a man most women dream of. He’s never known anything other than being alone. Deserted as a child, he’s always felt not even good enough to give away, just thrown away. Raised by his aunt, he’s struggled to keep himself on the right path. That path being one that would keep him far and away from an ancient family prophecy that speaks of fire and flame. And he’s done a pretty good job of it — until now. Now, after all these years, a girl with flaming red hair, a scathing dose of sarcasm, and a body that calls to him on a cellular level comes sauntering into town. Despite his undeniable attraction to her, Jaime just wants her to leave. The wildlife in his hometown is more than a fable, and it can make people disappear. It’s better for all concerned if she just goes.

Ruby Anastasia Parker has only a few months to complete her dissertation and turn it in, then she’s done with grad school and on to the next adventure. She fears nothing and no one. She’s come to a small town in the middle of nowhere to research the local fables and wildlife. She’s alone, and prefers to keep it that way. Her parents managed to keep their distance from her entire life — as a result she’s developed a fear of commitment and setting down roots of any kind. She lives her life out of her suitcase. She spies a tanned, dark-curly haired, muscled up mechanic at the auto repair shop on the outskirts of town. If she’s lucky, she’ll get to spend a night or two with more than one type of local wildlife before she’s on her way again.

For years there’s been a rumor of huge, human-sized bats that nest in the hills of Calabasas, New Mexico. Ruby’s on a mission to find out if they exist. If she’s right, and she can find them, she’ll be famous, able to pick her new assignment anywhere in the world.
Jaime, on the other hand, is desperate to protect the infuriating, red-headed, spitfire from both herself, and the bats she’s convinced herself exist. If they find her, and recognize her for what truly she is — she may never be seen again. And losing her is something Jaime’s found to his dismay, he just can’t live with.

I write Paranormal, SciFi and Fantasy Romance. Why, you may ask? Romance, because who doesn’t love a good romance, and the lack of reality in the story lines - because, well, normal is highly overrated. I’m 55, I have two kids, one 32 and one 12 (yes, God does have a sense of humor), one grandchild, one husband, and a menagerie of animals. Literally, too damn many things that eat wandering around our property. I love to cook, and I am a voracious reader, though since I started writing I don’t get as much time to read as I once did. I am a homebody and prefer my writing/reading time to a crowd. I have had stories and fictional characters wandering around in my head for as long as I can remember. I started letting them out into the real world and surprisingly, people have loved them. I am a Self-Published Author, and I like it that way because I can decide what and when to write. I am by no means a formal, polished, properly structured individual and neither are my stories. But people seem to love the easy emotion and passion that naturally flow from them. A bit of a warning though, there are some “triggers” in them that certain people should avoid. I’m a firm believer that you cannot have light without the dark. You cannot fully embrace the joy and elation that my people eventually find if you do not bear witness to their darkest hours as well. So please be sure to read the warnings supplied with each of the synopses about my books before you buy them. I've got three series published at this time, Avaleigh's Boys - PNR, Whispers From the Bayou - Fantasy PNR, Haven - a SciFi, and three more in process. I’m a bit sarcastic, scathing actually, and a smartass to boot, so if I offend you, it is most likely not intentional. But be prepared because it probably won’t be the last time. I’m always glad to hear from readers; those who have followed me from the beginning, and those who have just found my people. So feel free to look me up and say hello, or just follow along; either way, I’m glad to have you.

You ate all my pies and drank all my coffees and left me looking like something tried to eat me!”“I did eat you,” he said smugly, reaching into the bag for another pie. “Jaime!” she scolded. “What? I did. And you loved it.”

This is just a little taste from Sandra R Neeley's new hot, sexy fabulous new read Wings! And theirs more where this came from. When ruby goes looking for giant bat's in Calabasas, New Mexico for her dissertation the town's people are friendly but they all tell her that she's on a wild goose chase, but ruby's determined to get her proof. And when she meets Jamie the town's hot sexy mechanic it's instant sexual attraction, but theirs more to this sex on a stick guy and ruby see's no reason not to mix business with pleasure. Their is a evil that is watching and will do whatever it takes to keep its secrets safe and keep a old prophecy from being fulfilled at any cost! This book is full of steamy hot sexy scenes and had me laughing my ass off many times as well. It's very entertaining and the writing is awesome as well and I loved all the characters and especially Jamie's bad boy brother Tyrisey he is delish, and so bad!! Their is something so sexy about guy's with fangs!! I love paranormal romance, the possibilities are endless.
Sandra R Neeley creates world's and characters that are so intriguing. I can't wait to read more from this fabulous writer!! Until next time luv's💖💋

Hmmmm, so this was different from all the other books I've read by Sandra.
And while yeah, they too were kinda insta romances, this one was even more so. Almost so much so that it didn't work for me...

I did like it but . . . *shrugs*

In the beginning I almost thought I'd read the blurb wrong and there was nothing paranormal about the hero Jamie but no, I was quickly dissuaded from that notion.
The pacing was kinda off but this is one of those books that happen basically over a period of a week or two.

I also didn't like the paragraphing-might just be my copy though, happens when I switch to reading on my phone- the drier parts were just one big clump of a paragraph. I have at times a serious case of attention deficit tendencies so this really kept throwing me off.

Everything was like looking through rose coloured glasses, all distorted. It all wraps up really pretty like with a bow and all.

I'm not trying to be mean, this just isn't Sandra's best work.

But yes! The Bat-people thing? So cool! I've never read the type and God! the potential. I can just see all the possible stories. I have to say, they could very much end up right there at the top with Dragons and Phoenixes and Werewolves and Aliens Lol! xD

Sweet story, interesting H and sweet h, both of whom are twins, which was a key plot point that sort of fell flat. The h was a great character in the beginning, sassy and smart and her sister was equally amusing. The brothers were traumatised due to actions of evil OM, and it was great to see them become more aware of their family connections. But inconsistencies in the plot and characters upset the flow a little towards the end. A good fun 3.5 star read.

Very sweet

2 brothers, 2 sisters and a lot of misunderstandings, dominance and forgiveness. This was a heartfelt read about 2 brothers. Our main couple Jaimie and Ruby make a great team. The other couple Ty and Pearl are a good addition to the story. Some steamy times in this one.

New and unique, with thrills galore!
Ms. Neeley fully captures the rural, small town ambiance. I love Jaime and Ruby, with their brother/sister counterparts. The secondary characters are lively, interesting, heartwarming, and round out the story, making it fully realized. The tale is laced with irrepressible humor. Watching Jaime and Ruby get to know each other is delightful. I love the backchat and the smug looks! Jaime sometimes feels a bit misunderstood: “I’m not surly. I just got [stuff] to tend to, and everybody needs to do what I need them to do so I can do me.”
There are many thrills as those in a position of power attempt to control (or eliminate) people. My favorite people become very creative in confronting the threat.
I am delighted with the outcome - a very enjoyable read!

*WARNING* contains sexual content and violence
Jaime is a mechanic in a small town. Jaime likes to watch the bats, but doesn't like tourists hanging around.
Ruby has always loved bats and has heard of a small town that has some unusual ones.
I loved this story! Not shifters, this is something different. There is so much I want to say, but I don't want to give any spoilers. Nothing is as it seems in this story, if you think you have something figured out, you probably don't. Even the characters in the story aren't quite who or what that seem to be. There are plot twists that will give your heart a twinge. Tear worthy scenes. Then to finish this epic book is a beautiful HEA. Highly RECOMMENDED

A good story and world building

I am a fan of this author, Sandra Neeley, so when I saw this book suggested in an email, I clicked yes. I am happy that I read this story of twin brothers separated as babies by their evil grandfather. Jaime and Ty are fraternal twins. One looks more human like their father and Ty looks more like his mom, a shifter. Well the evil grandfather was upset plus about his heir and daughter sneaking behind him to take up with a human male. The grandfather plots the demise of his daughter and her new family but fates and prophecies has other things in mind. Read On!

Enjoyable read

I really did enjoy this book. Definitely a different human from other books of this genre. I love how everyone has a difference in looks or abilities, but yet everyone is viewed the same way. Everyone belongs if only more people outside of books were like that. Just my thought. As far as the plot, etc. this book is great. Well, thought out, keeps you hooked, and all the characters have their own personalities that shine through from start to finish. I enjoyed it and I hope you do too.

Really good story ! Ruby, who is as sarcastic as they come, came to Calabasas to complete her dissertation on bats and finds "Sex on a Stick" Jaime who is actually a Chireop along with his brother. Jaime initially doesn't want anything to do with Ruby because of a prophecy of his people. She overcomes Jaime's feelings quickly. Lots of action and surprises along the way but it does lead them to a happily ever after. Highly recommend this book!

Do you like Bats?

I totally think that this could actually be considered a true story. Think about it! There is so so so much more out in the world than we think.

Ruby unknowingly drives into a prophecy. Jamie has lived a life of heartbreak and loss. Some unforeseen force, has pulled these two souls together. Will they make it? Is the prophecy true? What type of creature is Jamie?

Another great story from Sandra. Loved it!

Jaime and Ruby were not what I thought their relationship would be... and then to throw in another brother and another sister... and to have a father who is the contender for the worst father of the century...

Weird But Awesome

Well Ms. Medley I finished all your books. When are you going to write some more. I'm following you on Amazon so I'll be notified when something new comes out.

If you're looking for something good to read that's a bit different "Wings" is a good start. It's well written with great characters. You get romance, a good dose of paranormal, a little bit of tears, and something a bit different. Who could ask for more?

Oh! And one more thing. If you like this book you should read the rest of her books. "I'm Not A Dragon's Mate ( Avaleigh's Boys book 1)" is the start of a good series of six books with no cliff-hangers. And then you should try "Carnage" , the beginning of another series. I've read them all and can't wait until she published something new.

Thank you Sandra R Neeley. You are an excellent writer. Now get busy. I want more!

As with her prior books, I enjoyed reading this. It didn’t have an intricate plot but I find it refreshing that this author creates characters that are unique. They are not the blue alien with the large package looking for a mate because a virus eliminated their females. yawn. And there is actually a story to read here, not pages upon pages of sex scenes. These characters come to life when you read the story because you relate to the personalities. You know someone just like that. I look forward to more from this author.

Very different story. Ruby is going after her doctorite. She loves bats and wants to study them for her disortation. In a small town she meets Jamie who fails for Ruby. Jamie is part of a group of human bats. He has a twin who lives in the hills with the human bats. Then the crazy starts.

Wow

Great story. It’s kept flowing nicely. I did get a bit confused because of the dialogue changing from one character to another, but it wasn’t bad. Loved the romance in it.
