I'm too much for her. Too rough, too demanding, too proficient.
But she doesn't know that.
So why should I stay away?

Lila doesn’t want another nice guy. She’s tired of being the good girl.
She wants something new - someone to push her boundaries.

She wants me.

Naive and curious, she looks at me with that voiceless yearning in her eyes, piercing and pulling until I can no longer resist.

Oh, little girl, be careful what you wish for.

You will submit to me, you will bend to my will and cry beautiful tears for me. My belt will bite your skin until it blossoms in all shades of red, my restraints will cut into your wrists just like my command will carve into your soul.

But you’re not ready for it, are you?

Your past keeps reaching out to you, still holding a firm grip on the girl who is trying to break free.

You need a resolve - and you need it soon.

Before I break every last part of you.

Dark and sinful, this steamy read packs a big emotional punch. Intense and engaging this book will keep you reading past your bedtime. A really good romance. I'm posting a voluntary, honest review.

Kade Armitage can’t stand weddings yet here he is at a wedding because of an obligation to his father since his dad is a business associate of the groom. When Kade sees Lila, the maid of honor, he knows he wants to get to know her. Kade finally gets his chance but unfortunately she is also a little drunk from all the champagne she’s been drinking. When Kade gets near her he can’t help but do something a little unexpected and for some reason Lila enjoys it. When Kade hears that Lila broke off her engagement he wonders why. When Lila asks Kade what exactly happens in the Velvet Rooms he knows that he wants to get to know her by showing her exactly what happens there. Still Lila can’t deny her attraction to Kade and goes along with it willingly until her secret might become known. Will the secrets destroy everything between them both even with their feelings getting more in the way or will they be able to leave the stuff that happens in the velvet room alone when reality will ruin everything?
Yes these books are just deliciously dark and go way beyond than normal vanilla BDSM which is probably the attraction I have to reading them. Sure I like clean vanilla steamy romances like everyone else but every once in a while I have to get away from reading them just to discover all the illicit things by what happens in these types of relationships. Also to read these kind of stories gives me the freedom to exercise that part just a little like the characters. The story is told in two differing points of view from Kade’s to Lila’s which is a little distracting but to me I got see what made both tick. Kade the bored handsome rich business billionaire didn’t fascinate me as much as Lila. I liked her dark side and even when she falls for Kade she tries to protect him. Kade still doesn’t seem to care for anything even Lila’s feelings which left me a little cold and I questioned the relationship of the two. Still I enjoyed the darkness of the story, the raunchiness of it and do plan on reading more!

A little pain mixed with pleasure...

"She called out for me from the very first moment we met, and she made me want things that were never part of the plan." -Kade
While her sister Elene (Black Velvet) was always the wild child, Lila was the good girl. She was the dependable, hard worker their parents compared her younger sister to. Now the roles has reversed. Elene is marrying a rich businessman, and Lila has just broken off her engagement a short while before the wedding. She's bored and feels like she's missing something, but what?
Kade is a smart businessman, but he can never seem to please his father and older brother. Because he doesn't think or act like them, they think he's wasting his potential. He's impulsive and has a short attention span, but when he meets Lila... There's something about he just can't place, but she calls out to him. He knows what she's missing in her life and invites her on a journey of self discovery. What he doesn't realize is he's going to learn a thing or two about himself, also.
I really loved this conclusion to the Velvet Rooms series, and I encourage the readers to read the whole series. This also includes the Violent series, which started it all.
There aren't any spoilers, but Lila's sister Elene has her own story in Black Velvet the first book in the series. Reading her story May help better understand the girls' background.

Life Is Full Of The Unexpected But Sometimes It's Oh So Good

Oh WOW I love this series!!! A very tastefully written book about discovering things about yourself that you had no clue was there. When Kade meets Lila at her sisters wedding he is drawn to her like no other. There is a purity in her that he needs to break so he can put her back together. Kade makes Lila feel things she's never felt before and it's confusing but ohhhh so right. When Kade agrees to take Lila to the Velvet Rooms they have no idea what is in store for them. Kade doesn't do the girlfriend thing and Lila just broke off her engagement to a good man. After their first "date" to the Red Room ( red for pain) Lila is thankful for the experience Kade gave her. She has never had anyone loose themselves over her and it makes her feel like a butterfly learning to fly...free. When Lilas ex shows up after their date Kade feels protective over her and something else, could it possibly be jealously. Follow Kade and Lila on their journey as the find a happiness they never dreamed of. The way Linnea May writes her scenes are amazing, consensual, safe and very satisfying (even in the Red Room). This is a story about more than BDSM, it's about finding love and living life as you see fit no matter what others think. Don't hesitate, one click, turn the air on and enjoy!!! I can't wait to see what comes next.

Will the red velvet room meet Lila and Kade’s needs?
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. I have read many of Linnea’s books, and this one did not disappoint with the steamy interactions between Kade and Lila. Lila is trying hard not to be a disappointment at her sister’s wedding, so is imbibing the champagne away from the limelight outside. Kade hates weddings and decides to go outside and have a smoke to wile away the time until he can leave. But when Kade discovers Lila outside, he is instantly drawn to her. Kade gives Lila a taste of something that she needs but doesn’t think she should like. When interrupted, Lila flees, but Kade goes after her to discuss why Lila doesn’t like nice boys. When Lila asks about the Velvet Rooms, Kade offers to take Lila. Kade provides Lila a taste of the pain she craves behind the red velvet drapes which satisfies Kade like no one before her. But when Lila’s ex-fiance comes back into the picture, it can destroy everything Kade and Lila have. Will Lila trust Kade to protect her? You have to read to find out and you won’t want to put the book down.

There is definite chemistry between Kade and Lila and the way their relationship develops is very engaging. This being the first book I have read of this series I cannot draw any reference for how the BDSM elements were handled in the other books, but for this one I had concerns about the fact that Lila is a complete novice and yet Kade took her into the Red Room without any real prior communication about expectations or limits. That is not what a Dom would do, and, although he did start “lightly” to begin, he went into a deeper level almost immediately. Again, being she had no experience, this just wasn’t realistic. Also, there seemed to be little to no real aftercare. These are important elements if you are going to seriously play in the BDSM realm; not to mention how fast he collared her! If you are just looking for an enjoyably hot, spicy romance and are not serious about reading in the BDSM genre, then I recommend this, but if having a proper depiction of BDSM & the Dom/sub relationship is important to your enjoyment than you may want to give this a pass.

This was a great ending to the Velvet Room series. This dark romance was full of emotional angst, scorching love scenes, and a compelling storyline. Kade Armitage is a tall, sexy, a Dom who is very forward, confident, and he does not do girlfriends, period! Kade meets Lila at her sister’s (Elena) wedding. Lila was dependable, hard worker, naïve, and has always been the good girl—something she was tired of being. The question is how does she change from being a good girl? When Kade meets Lila, he could tell she wants something new, so he invites her to the Red Room, and what an experience she has! Both Lila and Kade are characters with issues from their past, yet they are SO good together. You will need to read to find out what happens. The scenes are well written, fast-paced and flow smoothly from one scene to the next. This was an enjoyable read with an interesting plot and dialogue, and it keeps you reading to the end to find out what happened—it will pique your interest and drawn you in.

Her Defiant Rebel

Oh what an amazing end to the last in the Velvet Rooms series. I have just adored Linnea May’s magnificent books in this series! In fact all of her series of books are so, so worth reading! The story of Lila and Kade blew my mind it was a well deserved 5 ⭐️ Read which I highly recommend. The character of Lila with her wounded soul, the girl who just wanted to break free was absolutely perfect and Kade the rebel of his family, who Lila met at her sister’s wedding, just after the break up of her ex fiancée Jim. Kade just sees Lila and understands her needs. She calls to him without knowing or understanding why! But Kade does! Who is this stranger she is drawn to? Can Kade teach her how to fly and set her free or will she just be his dirty secret? Will Lila doubt her lifestyle choices, as Jim just won’t let go? Could she find her path in life?

Provocative, scintillating, erotic romance
Lila is Elene’s sister from Black Velvet (a must read too) at whose wedding Lila meets Kade, another wealthy patron of the Velvet Rooms, a “house-of-kink.” Kade plans NEVER to marry as he thinks it’s an absurd situation: one woman forever…ridiculous. Lila has just broken up with her fiancé on the verge of walking down the aisle herself. Jim’s a “nice guy” but he never gave Lila what she needed. At their first meeting Kade explains to her why she left Jim: “Because nice guys don’t make you wet.”
Thus, begins a very intoxicatingly sensual BDSM romance. Ms. May can write naughty so well! This is one of the most sensually gratifying series I’ve ever read. Every book is HOT, OTT good if that is something you like. I was offered an ARC to review and this book (well, the whole series, actually) comes highly recommended. Soooo good!

4.5 Stars!! This is the last book of the Velvet Room series. Each is different and it does grab your attention. Lila and Kade, meet at her sister's wedding. He was a reluctant guest but Lila caught his attention. Neither wants a relationship but when they get together, they really don't want anyone else. They have an instant attraction. Lila has always been interested in the BDSM lifestyle but she is the good girl. Will Kade be able to bring out the bad in her? I enjoyed this book and it has good characters. My only fault is that they get into a BDSM relationship so quickly that its interesting that she trusts him so quickly. The story moves along and has lots of intrigue and steam. Easy one-click.

This is a super hot story between a good girl and her rebel dom.

Lila has always been a good girl. She has a steady job, behaved properly, found a stable man. Then she decided the man she was set to marry, wasn't what she wanted. She was sick of the mundane, boring and predictable.

At her sister's wedding, she meets Kade. He's a business man with a dark side and exudes his dominance. He loves finding himself the perfect submissive that he can corrupt and ruin. Lila is just perfect.

I loved Lila's struggle between who she feels she should be and what she really wants. Kade is all alpha sexiness. Together these two find something so much greater than they expected and it all started in the Red Velvet room of pain.

Sultry, decadent, compelling journey for Lila. Kade is a mystery to his family. He has taken the expected path so when he is asked to attend a wedding in place of his father and brother, he decides to go but is extremely bored until he sees the maid of honor. There is something about this woman that grabs his attention and when he crosses paths with her on the balcony, he ensures their encounter is memorable. Lila was following the expected path but she finally took control of her life yet is still lost. When she meets Kade, she feels like he knows what she is missing. This is a beautifully erotic journey as Kade awakens Lila’s submission while she opens his heart. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

Another exciting instalment in the Velvet Room series of standalones. Here we meet Lila and Kade, who from an outside perspective should not work, but what Lila craves deep down, may be just the thing she is looking for with Kade. Lila has always been the good girl who played it safe, however after breaking off her relationship, rumors have started to spread about her being more like her bad girl sister. So when she meets the rebellious and mysterious Kade, things take a very interesting turn for the dark, dirty and dangerous.

This was hot on so many different levels, I have thoroughly enjoyed all the Velvet Room series and this one did not disappoint. I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

A sensual journey

Lila is the good girl -her life is all set to be safe and boring 😧 struck scared by the reality of what that truly means for her Lila finds herself stepping outside the lines of good and what is expected only to finds a hunger within that only one man can feed -Kade
I really enjoyed Lila's playful nature. She is book smart but street innocent. The chemistry between her and Kade smolders - her quieter person plays so well in contrast to Kade's "rebel" side 😍
Great characters the primary are easy to get lost in and the secondary - I want to know more about them
A smooth plotline that flows making the story an easy to read romance - Alternating POV and an HEA

Red velvet

Last book in the velvet series each one wonderful. I’m glad I had read the violent series first the characters in those are also in these. I read both series in four days. Only because I went to bed at 5 in the morning I couldn’t put them down. Elene sister Lila is in this one. She was always the good sister following all the rules while her sister was the wild one. It’s starts at her sisters wedding where she meets who will turn out to be the man of her dreams. One nothing like who she has ever dated. Add to that she has just broken up with a guy she was suppose to marry. Something her family can’t understand. She know about the velvet rooms from her now married sister who use to work there. Happy reading

I want another book!

Ugh I bought these so I can re-read them but come up with another club and bring us another book series Linnea.. The way only you can do it! I love this couple because they really have this wild , sizzling, hotter than hot relationship not only in their sex life but really in the way they love each other. Her Sister was in the first book and we even get a quick glimpse of the bar tender from the second book..she describes the wine when its Lila's first time going to the Velvet rooms. Each is a stand alone but this one has connections to the first one. This is well written, of course, and so flipping hot! Just the way I love her books! It's time for another Linnea book! Definitely read!

This was a fantastic conclusion to the Velvet Rooms series and my favourite. At the beginning I was drawn into it and felt like a voyeur, albeit a welcome one, and became absorbed by the characters particularly Kade. Lila and Kade were two of a kind and were able to see into the soul of the other and that is what made them so dynamic as characters. It was good to see Damon and Elena again, particularly as I had felt something missing from Damon's character in Black Velvet, it is not missing any more.

This is a sizzling book full of emotion, I loved it and highly recommend it. Thank you Linnea May for a great series.

Remember the girl from the Black Room?
This book starts on her wedding day.
And what happens is so clichè that you might groan; maid of honor slinks off to the balcony only to be accosted by a very reluctant guest, just to relieve his boredom.
But from then on the story takes an,... well, not quite unexpected turn.
With exceptional speed those two discover that their tastes are of a very compatible nature, the only problem they have is to put a name to their relationship. But that changes when an outsider threatens to expose their shared predilection.
This is a neat, spicy morsel from the Velvet Rooms.

Red is the color of passion and it is painted throughout this story. What is normal? And who’s allowed to day what is? That’s up to each person to decide for themselves. Lila and Kade demonstrate a relationship that’s outside of the mainstream. Though not as uncommon as it might once have been. All the couples that found each other through the Velvet Rooms are examples of this. Kade and Lila have chemistry in spades. It was fascinating to watch Lila learn the strength in submission, and to see Kade discover his vulnerabilities from the dominant position.

Another Velvet Rooms romance with a dark, broody ready to dominate man- Kade and a looking for more "good girl " Lila
When Kade meets the Maid of Honor Lila at her sister's wedding, He sees beyond the surface with her; he sees her innocent, submissive nature waiting to come out.
Taking her under his love to break em' wing, they embark on a sensual and emotional awakening, taking them both by surprise!
Deep, strong-willed characters, with plenty of heart, an enjoyable balance of darkness and light, taking the soul searching to new levels. - The Velvet room Romances have become fast favorites of mine!

Linnea has done it again with this book each one of her book's in the Velvet series were amazing. I think each one as I read them was better than the last one, but this book is probably my favorite. This book if you've read her other's deals with pain. This book was on a whole new playing level for me. This story pulled me in from the beginning and had me turning pages to see what would happen next. Talk about an intense book Linnea has this way of writing that you see in your mind what's happening sorta like your looking from the outside in. I would highly recommend getting this book. I cannot wait to see what she has coming next.

This book lives up to its name!

The last book in this series lives up to its name! Lila a good girl and Kade a rebel Dom worlds collide when they meet and find something in each other. I loved Lila’s strong character who is not afraid to try what she always knew was missing after having a life that was mapped for her “good”girl image. And Kade although seem like the tough Dom attitude shows a side of himself that he finds sharing with Lila. The author did a great job showing their journey of self discovery. A great ending to a fabulous series that gives you the heat level you want in a romance with kink and doesn’t disappoint.

Remember Black Velvet? We visit Elene and Damon in this story, which is really about Elene's sister Lila and businessman Kade. This book is set in the same world but can be read as a standalone. Lila almost got married, which would have been a tragedy because she would have bored with Jim. She would have become boring herself, living a boring life. She wants more, she wants things which she can't put words to. Kade offers them to her. He is patient when she works through her last relationship. She responds perfectly to his commands and melts at his praise. Gorgeous story.

Another Room in the Velvet Room series and boy, what a room the Red one turns out to be. Kade sees Lila at her sister's wedding which he was forced to attend as a representative of his family. Kade sees something in Lila about her unmet needs that she has yet to discover on her own. This book is about a journey of discovery for Lila but along the way Kade makes some surprising discoveries of his own. Another well written book by Linnea May and while this is part of a Series of sort, each book can be read on it's own and in whatever order you choose.

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest and totally voluntary review.

This was a really good finishing story to the Velvet Rooms trilogy. Lila had always been the good girl, always doing what was right and dating the nice guy. Although she was ready to break out of her shell. Kade, a dominating alpha male, helped her realize she was also ready to give up on the nice guy and live a little. The two of them had instant chemistry and were hot together. Like the first two books, I personally wouldn't classify this as a dark romance. I still thought it was good none the less. I would recommend all three Velvet Rooms stories.

Loved this conclusion to the Velvet Rooms series. Kade and Lila are both in very similar places emotionally when they meet by chance. Their instant chemistry makes them want to explore more. Neither are looking for a relationship, just a way to explore their desire. Can Lila handle all that Kade wants to show her?
I loved the chemistry of the characters in this book, and the strength of Lila. She is capable of taking care of herself, and exploring what she wants without being a damsel. Sad this series is over!!

Kade is the black sheep of his family he follows a different set of rules. He goes to a wedding in his family name. He meets Lila the maid of honor. he can see something different and special in her. They embark on a journey , for her its more of a self-discovery and for him to see how she handles being broken. I have to say this one was my favorite velvet room. I like how Linnea May took the ex and made him apart of this story as intimidating person . I enjoyed reading the Velvet series. I voluntarily read an arc of this book .
