I've been waiting for CeCe's book since I met her in Come Again (yes I read the first two books out of order - both were still amazing!).
In order to gain Shep's inheritance, Shep and CeCe enter in a fake marriage with very not fake chemistry! Wow! Shep's views on marriage was purely that of a transaction, since that's how he grew up in his family, while CeCe's was protecting herself from getting left again.
It was very heartwarming to see Shep start to recognize his feelings, and even reach out to his friend, Mav on how to express them.
I had a hard time putting this book down! Plan on one clicking this book!
Time to plan a trip to the French Quarter and get my caffeine fix from Neutral Grounds!

There is something so fascinating, captivating and provocative about romance stories that balance on the precipice of a marriage of convenience plot, because we all know that there isn’t going to be anything convenient about it at all. And in Neutral Grounds we have been gifted a pretty spectacular, alluring, creative and well executed storyline, with engaging side characters that tend to enhance the overall enjoyment of the love story as they plot, counsel and support our exceptionally independent, clever, beautiful and quick-witted protagonists.
CeCe was just as splendid as a leading lady, as she has been in the previous stories, where we got to see quick glimpses of the intelligent, ambitious and loving woman that she so clearly is. In Neutral Grounds her true sparkling and darling personality got to shine off the page, stealing not only Shepard Rhys-Jones’s heart right out of his commitment-phobic chest, but also stealing readers hearts in the process, as her fierce loyalty, stunning wit and captivating charm was tried, tested, appreciated, then finally adored, by our seductive and irresistible hero.
Shep was just as enthralling as I knew he was going to be. He never knew much about love to be able to return it or risk it. His version of the emotion came attached to exorbitant amounts of money, lavish gifts, repercussions and expectations, so when he really gets to know CeCe and she offers love and kindness with zero expectations, it truly opens his eyes to all the possibilities. Witnessing those moments, when Shep was vulnerable, sweet and open was like looking at the sun. Beautiful, mesmerising and blinding. To witness both CeCe and Shep dance around one another and discover passion, romance and fun together was just wonderful. Where the storyline was entertaining, angsty and just a little dramatic, it was the sterling characterisation that really made Neutral Grounds a terrific book to get lost in.
‘“Fuck, man.” He shakes his head, like he’s in disbelief. “You’re really falling for her, aren’t you? This isn’t a game or a business agreement.” That last part isn’t a question, it’s a statement and I’m relieved that he finally gets it...and that he believes me. “No, not in the slightest.”
These kinds of romance stories are my favourite. The hero that maintains he will never fall in love and the heroine who needs to participate in the charade for some reason or another, and that slow, beautiful and intoxicating descent from wary allies to friends to lovers, to something much more profound, spellbinding and eternal. Jiffy Kate write as this seamless entity. The plot, the New Orleans setting, the cast of characters, the dialogue, they all combine together to create utter magic and deliver yet another amazing romance from two very talented writers.

The Hero doesn't do relationships.
During separation heroine is celibate. The Hero isn't.
"I’ve thought about kissing CeCe again for the past two years. Her lips have haunted me as I’ve tried to erase her from my memory, replacing it with random women who never compared."
Other woman drama in the form of women his mother wants him to marry, one in particular, he's not interested.
No intimate scenes with anyone other than the Hero and heroine.
No cheating.
HEA.
Epilogue.

Neutral Grounds is another highly engaging read from the duo Jiffy Kate. It is set in New Orleans and brings us back to some of the amazing places and characters we have met in previous books including Carys and Maverick, Avery and Shaw and of course Jules.
This book focuses mostly on the relationship between Shep and CeCe. They had a fling in the past which left CeCe feeling somewhat jilted, but now Shep is back and after his grandfather passes away, they find themselves in an unconventional arrangement that has them quickly headed down the aisle.
I absolutely loved both CeCe and Shep from the start and I adores them together. It really seemed like CeCe might have what Shep needed to help cure his jaded view of relationships and marriage. I loved reading his transformation as he went from anti-marriage bachelor to swoony husband extraordinaire. His interactions with CeCe were sweet and brought about all the feels and their chemistry was hot, hot, hot!!!
Jiffy Kate has created an amazing group of friends you can't help but just want to be part of. The writing is strong and the story line is engaging. I was 100% invested in this story and read in one sitting because I just did not want to put it down. Neutral Grounds just might be fighting for top position as my favorite Jiffy Kate book. It's a definite must read!!!

Neutral Grounds by Jiffy Kate dropped on my kindle at exactly the right time; just when I needed a little light – hearted book to counteract the heavy fantasy and thriller reads!
Shep and Cece’s connection is instantaneous; and they spend an amazing weekend together. But it is exactly that connection and the emotions it evokes in him, that makes Shep make a run for it; as a consequence, Shep ends up ghosting Cece.
Cece, on the other hand an independent woman, doesn’t always open up to anyone; but something about Shep makes her open up to him. So, it’s a double blow when Shep ghosts her, despite having friends in common. Her pride helps Shep in his plans of avoiding her beautifully.
Then, both Shep and Cece are dealt with blows that spell catastrophe in their lives simultaneously – Shep has to marry to access the trust fund left to him by his grandfather; a trust fund that means freedom to him while Cece receives a letter contesting the ownership of her coffee shop, Neutral Grounds (I see what you did there, Ms. Kate!).
A marriage of convenience is born between two people whose connection with each other scares them to the bones. This “mutually beneficial” arrangement between Shep and Cece isn’t expected to last beyond the time required, but both of them seem to have underestimated how deep their connection actually runs!
Shep and Cece’s chemistry was hot enough to make me actually believe that my e – Reader was on fire during those scenes *winks* but more than that I adored the way Cece and Shep were with each other – their hesitations, their interactions yet most of all, their slow realisation of how much they meant to each other!
An adorable romance with its quirky moments made it a fun and entertaining read!

This book landed on my kindle yesterday afternoon and I completely DEVOURED it!! I love the fake romance trope, and this was no exception!!
Shep and CeCe have such powerful chemistry, that I felt it radiating off the page! Two years ago, these two has an amazing weekend together, but the way CeCe made Shep feel spooked him, and he ghosted her. Ever since then, the two of them have been avoiding each other until Shep is faced with a predicament: he needs to get married before he can have access to his trust fund that his grandfather left behind. His family has expectations of Shep, and want him to take over the family business and marry a woman that is 'of his means. (His parents are truly awful, and that's the nicest way I'll ever put it.) Seeing as how Shep wants to stay in New Orleans with his best friend (hey there, Maverick!!) All he wants is to gain access to his trust, but who would do that for him?
We then have CeCe, who is running Neutral Grounds (such a wonderful name for her coffee shop!!) In the French Quarter, but when she gets a letter that contends the ownership of her business, she's determined not to lose all she's worked for. At Shep's birthday party, she overhears him needing a wife, and offers to be help him out.
What first starts out as an understanding between these two -- a marriage of convenience, CeCe gets a portion of his trust in thanks for marrying him, and no falling in love before they part ways a year later-- turns into something very real. Shep has always felt so strongly about CeCe, even when he tries to deny it, but CeCe already put her trust in him and we all know how that turns out. Plus she saw the damage her father did to her mother when be left them behind, and refuses to fall in love. The more time they spend together (both in and out of the bedroom) the more they realize what they have is worth fighting for. But when the year is up, will they walk away, or turn this into a real marriage?
There's not enough words to express my love for this book. Shep completely stole my heart with how much be loved CeCe, and how be proved to her that he isn't the same man he was two years ago, and that if she would let him, he would be her person, her love, her soulmate. I also really loved CeCe; she was so independent, so loving, so fierce, but she always has a plan B set in place for herself, and always saw the worst case scenario of a situation. When Shep envokes emotions in her that she never realized he would, she struggles with wanting to hold him close and wanting to push him away. The push ans pull between these two, the easy way they loved one another, and how protective they were over each other was so beautiful. I wanted them to so badly have their happy ending, and I am so glad with how it ended!!
It was also so great to see all of our favorite characters back together again!! This series is one of my favorites, and each book is better than the last!! Five plus stars!!

My favorite writing duo, Jiffy Kate, brings us another beautiful book from the French Quarter of New Orleans in Neutral Grounds. In this wonderfully descriptive book, they tell the story of CeCe and Shep. From the first page this steamy couple fight their feelings for each other. Always in control, CeCe has had to take care of everyone else in her life and can’t let down her guard to find love. There’s always a exit plan, always a reason to keep her feelings from getting in the way. Shep was born with the proverbial silver spoon in his mouth. He was raised by cold, pretentious parents who basically saw him as nothing but a pawn in their business dealings. He didn’t know what love truly meant. One night of “Drunk Monopoly” and a hot, sexy weekend in the Quarter sets in motion a sweet story of how these two basically rescue each other. When Shep needs a temporary wife to cement his inheritance from his grandfather, CeCe steps in to help. She soon realizes that in order to find true happiness, sometimes you have to be vulnerable and let others take care of you. Shep, being relaxed in his new home in New Orleans and seeing all the love surrounding him, finally opens his heart and is able to let it shine despite his upbringing. He decides all the money in the world means nothing if you aren’t with the right person. Watching these two characters find each other and grow into their feelings made for a spectacular book. The precious little twist at the end just made my heart melt!

Two years ago Shepard Rhys-Jones and Cece Calhoun had a hot weekend together. Then commitment-phobe Shep basically ghosted her. She's never forgiven him, nor has she ever really gotten him out of her system. Now, Shep needs a wife in order to gain his inheritance. In a drunken moment, Cece volunteers herself. I mean, how hard can it be to be in a fake marriage with him for just a year?
As it turns out, it can be pretty freakin' challenging!
"My time spent with her is different. This is more. I knew it when we were together two years ago, and I know it now."
I absolutely adored Shep and Cece's story. I loved the spark that burned bright between them. Their chemistry was off the charts! No matter how much they tried to ignore it or deny it, there was no question that, in spite of their differences, they were hugely compatible. I loved how Shep changed his outlook on love and relationships. It's obvious that Cece had a memorable effect on him and I loved that he didn't shy away from his real feelings for her when he realised how he truly felt. He's such a swoony character! Cece is a strong, smart woman and I enjoyed how she handled Shep. She's resilient in the face of adversity and vastly independent. It melted my heart that Shep wanted to lighten her burdens.
Overall, a fabulous, sexy story that I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Another hit by JiffyKate.
I was so excited to get a chance to read a pre-release copy of “Neutral Grounds”. This book contains many of the same characters from their other French Quarter novels, but can be read as a stand alone.
There are so many things to love about this book. First off, the concept is one of my all-time faves: forced marriage (in this case, Shep has to marry in order to collect an inheritance). I haven’t seen is done well in a contemporary setting until now. It works because Shep and CeCe (and their circle of friends) are so well-rounded and engaging. A drop-dead gorgeous multi-millionaire? It could have turned into a cliche so easily, but they deftly seed tiny flaws that bring the portrayal to life.
The story moves along at a rollicking pace, carried forward by delightful conversation (they are the QUEENS of opening scenes and it just gets better from there). The story isn’t too long or too short and every scene has a point.
I don’t need to tell you how deliciously spicy this book gets. It is also laugh-out loud funny in parts. I love the quirky sense of humor.
If I had any tiny suggestion for improvement, it would be to ask for more description. New Orleans is such a rich backdrop that I was greedy for more details.
Overall, this is an amazing book! I’m already looking forward to whatever Jiffy Kate does next.

This ebook ARC was given to me by the author, on the condition that I write an honest review. I’ve read several books by Jiffy Kate, and have loved each one. All their book characters feel so human, and their stories are so well written, that it makes the reader feel like they are living the story. This particular book dealt with the story of Shep and CeCe, and how they initially met and fell in love. Their meeting occurred during a game night between them and Maverick and Carys, they resulted in having sex together and then Shep ghosted CeCe. Two years later they meet again and Shep has a problem that requires CeCe’s help. CeCe also has a problem that requires Shep’s help. They agree to help each other and a marriage of convenience is arranged. They have problems develop, including CeCe having to meet Shep’s rich family, and this causes several insecurities for CeCe. The stress of their situations becomes harder as they both realize that they have fallen in love with each other. Misunderstandings occur until they realize that their love is stronger than any situations that they must face, as long as they face it together. The book ends in a beautiful HEA for them and all their friends. I will always recommend these writers and their books, and I will continue to read whatever they write.

Jiffy Kate has taken us back to the french quarter in New Orleans with Neutral Grounds. I feel like I have returned home to family with this book. This writing duo knows how to pull you in with their characters and story lines so that you feel as if you are one of family of friends their stories are about. In this book we get to know these two wonderfully flawed characters - Shep and CeCe, both are strong and independent and find it hard to rely on others until CeCe offers to marry Shep, and then the laughs and tears begin! If you are looking for a story of self searching, loving friends, and hotness in all things Shep, then go and read Neutral Grounds. Now I have to wrap up this review so that I can pack up my belongings and move to New Orleans to be with this group of friends.

Cece and Shep spent a weekend with each other two years ago. They didn't leave it on good terms. Now Shep is back and he needs a wife to inherit. Cece drunkenly volunteers. Shep thinks of this as an sort of business agreement since he has strong feelings about not getting married. Cece's trying to protect her heart and has a fear of getting left again. It was great to watch Shep recognize his feelings and to watch their chemistry leap off the pages. This was a story I've been waiting for and it didn't disappoint. I definitely recommend.

Addictiveness: 4.5/5 This book had the perfect pace and had me wondering how it would end. It was an easily one-sitting read. As addictive as pizza!!!
Character: hero 5/5, heroine 4.5/5, secondary characters 5/5, growth 5/5, real 5/5 Characters were multidimensional with lots of interesting layers to them. They were very easy to love.
Shep was a multi-millionaire that looked like a wet-dream, amazing in bed, but very loyal to his friends. Really, what was not to like? Even though he was the king of one-night-stands, he was no cheater. When he jumped, he really committed himself to it. He was loving, caring and protective. He didn't get what he wanted, but totally what he needed from this relationship.
Cece was a very strong woman that has since a very young age only been able to depend on herself. She was a bit of a control freak that had a hard time accepting a helping hand. I really loved her, but had to take off half a star for being so stubborn and not really seeing what was right in front of her.
Villains… or antagonists… I guess, we could say her cousin, his father, but really the biggest villain here is Cece and her fears.
Secondary characters... so many interesting one, and I believe most of them have had their book already, so I must go back and read their stories.
All characters were easy to love, connect and understand!!!

I can totally see Shep in that guy with his expensive watch and button up with jeans. I only wished that I could find more of the story in the cover. I like the title and I love the subtitle. It give a snippet into the story. I would probably buy this book by its cover without needing to read the blurb!
Freshness: 3.5/5 This was a good contemporary romance. It doesn't have concept totally different from others out there, but it has a cool, fresh vibe. I like how we got a different hero than what was expected. As fresh as mint tea!
Plot: believable 4/5, conflict 4/5, dialogue 5/5, ending 5/5, enjoyment 5/5, opening 5/5, pace 4/5, setting 5/5, subplots 4/5, twists 4/5 Great opening for an amazing ending. Love the setting and the romance is believable. The conflict is good and it felt real. There is no major twist, but the subplot is interesting enough to keep the story flowing. High level of enjoyment!
Romance: believable 5/5, chemistry 5/5, description 4.5/5, development 5/5, steam 4/5 The couple's attraction was undeniable. The way they care for each other was cute and their lovemaking was hot. I have throughly enjoyed how this romance grew accordingly. It was not rushed and it made it feel real. Passionate love!
Writing Style: 4/5 I love the characters and their growth. I enjoy the plot concept and the setting. The romance felt real and the smut was good. Smart writing!
Plot: I just think a few loose ends remained sort of loose. The conflict with the father really didn't feel solved. I don't really know what happened at the end. I thought they were going to be a major hurdle, but it just died down.
This was my first book by the authors, but I will definitely read more. In fact, even though this is a standalone I got interested in the setting (I love New Orleans) and I really want to read their friends books. I'm certain both Shaw/Avery and Carys/Maverick has had a book that I would love to go back and read it. I'm certain I will even see Shep and Cece featuring there.
Oh, I would love to read Jules happily ever after!

This third book in the series was a good book to finish it all up. While there are a few other characters that I could see getting stories, we have now pretty much used up all the characters who are owners of the different locations we’ve visited in the French Quarter as part of this series, the Blue Bayou hotel, the Come Again bar, and in this one the Neutral Grounds coffee shop. Yes there are some other locations that featured regularly in the series, but they are not located quite in the French Quarter, so they would not be part of this.
Anyway, once again I was transported into the city I have come to love after visiting three times within three years, New Orleans. It’s been too long since I’ve been though, and now I really want to go back! This fake marriage story was perfect, and it actually had quite a few original aspects to it mixed in with the ones that are standard. First was the fact that his parents wouldn’t be upset if he had a fake marriage, because they just wanted him to get the money from his grandfather’s will. However they did want him to marry a woman of their choice, to make a marriage that combined families in order to make them have more and become a wealthier, more powerful family.
Now CeCe bugged me a little with really taking the whole independent woman thing too far in my opinion. I mean it only makes sense to let his lawyer that would be well-versed in real estate laws and cases like she had to deal with when her ownership of the coffee shop building was challenged. And then, damn, let him take you shopping for a dress to meet with him parents and their society friends! I mean, come on!
Other than that the romance mostly flowed in a realistic way, not too much insta-love. I was upset that he let her talk him into almost giving up. But how it all worked out in the end was perfect again, I like the way things got resolved between the two. There was one bit towards the end that made me wonder if the story was going to go a different way, but I was glad to see that it didn’t deter down that other trope path.
As I said, a great finish to this series!

Shep and CeCe spent one fantastic weekend together, then he ghosted her. Always feeling a little sting of disappointment when he's around she does her best to ignore him never quite having recovered from the weekend or the ghosting. Two years later Shep's moved to town, he was never able to completely forget CeCe but did his best to pretend to move on. In order to inherit his grandfather's money, Shep must be married for at least a year, stunned when CeCe volunteers to be his wife he snatches up the opportunity.
"My heart is falling for Shepard Rhys-Jones, but my brain is doing what it does best and scrambling for the nearest exit."
I loved this book, and have to say that the only way to get through an entire game of monopoly might be to do it drunk, it would definitely make it more bearable, possibly even fun. CeCe is so amazing, hard-working, sweet and strong. Her dedication to Neutral Grounds and her friends is incredible. I can 100% relate to her always looking for and needing a backup plan (also googling things like how to survive a plane crash), her anxiety speaks to my soul. Her heartbreak and feelings of abandonment over being ghosted and the very real fear of that happening again had me on edge for a lot of the story. I wanted to hate Shep, I really did, especially when they boarded the plane for Dallas and CeCe confronted him about the flight attendant, I was internally screaming at her to run. After seeing his family, and their interactions, I began to understand why he was the way he was and ultimately he was able to redeem himself and make me love him. I was STRESSED at 93% in with still no HEA, by that point, I loved Shep and CeCe and just wanted them happy and together. They do definitely get one, but these ladies make you wait for it, which just made the book that much better for me, a little added angst. As always it was so great to see a little of Carys and Maverick, and Avery and Shaw (which had me cracking up, Avery at the end of her pregnancy crying in the coffee shop, I may have done similar things at the end of my pregnancies). Loved this. I am a fan of the “Marriage of Convenience” trope, but it is rarely done as well as in this book. Cece and Shep are dedicated to remaining single, until fate steps in and provides incentive for them to think otherwise.
It’s so common for these fake marriage stories to turn into insta-love, but that doesn’t happen here. You feel their connection early on, but see how they fight it when they are thrown together again. However, as they show us, some connections are hard to deny.
“What’s also crazy is that I went into this thinking it would be temporary and now I’m thinking about making it more permanent than anything in my life has ever been.”
They are both very strong and independent characters and it’s so heart warming to see their walls come down slowly and see them learn to appreciate having someone to depend on.
“I know you’re never going to be the woman who needs saving and I’m ok with that. I just want to be the man who gets to walk by your side ... and be the your shoulder to lean on from time to time.”
I was a fan of these two from mentions in their other New Orleans books, so getting this deep dive into them was a treat. Their colorful friends play important roles in this story, so it was nice to revisit their stories, too.
Cece and Shep are perfectly imperfect for each other and they stole my heart with their romance.

Somewhat of an enemies-to-lovers vibe! CeCe and Shep meet through the relationship of their mutual friends, and after chemistry continues to build up one visit, they feed into the temptation and spend a weekend with each other. Two years later, Shep has relocated to the same town CeCe lives in, and even though the pair haven’t been on the best of terms since that weekend, end up at the same party. When his grandfather unexpectedly dies, he returns home to find out that he is the only one in his family to inherit anything, with the stipulation that he has to get married first. Coming from the opposite side of the tracks, so to speak, CeCe is willing to help out a friend in need, and drunkenly volunteers herself. After eloping quickly and quietly, Shep brings CeCe to his family’s home and although tensions are high and feelings are obvious regarding their marriage, the pair seems to pull through. But as feelings continue to grow between them and the line from friends to more is crossed, the question remains on if either will get spooked and cause the demise of the budding relationship. Overall, it was an enjoyable read.

Y’all I was sooo excited that CeCe's got her own book after I read about her in Come Again!! I freaking love when my favorite characters get their own spin offs!!!

Ohhh myyy Gahhhh, Y'all, I fell head over heels over Jiffy Kate's newest book Neutral Grounds. I had some laugh out loud moments, some swoony moments and some, OMG I am about to throw my kindle across the room moments!! Lol
Question: Would you consider marrying someone for Five Million Dollars with strings attached?? lol Well that is exactly what CeCe has to decide. And to top it off, she has to decide if this is even worth it when the guy who is asking her to do this “business transaction” she was with before in a fun one night stand. A very hot and steamy one night stand!! Buttt..to top it off, this guy ghosted her, erased her from his memory, poof gone. Lol
Sooo, Did CeCe take the “business transaction?” Well you are just going to have to pick up Neutral Grounds and find out. You are in for heckova’ great read, get ready!!!

My favorite author duo ha done it again! I love how Jiffy Kate writes a series that is entwined but could also be read as stand alones!
We've already met CeCe & Shep, But Neutral Grounds is THEIR story. They have a bit of a history. One hot weekend that went nowhere. And now things are a bit awkward. Their best friends' are engaged, so avoiding each other is basically out of the question.
CeCe is a strong, independent woman who has had to care for herself since childhood. Shep. Well Shep is a Rhys-Jones. A wealthy, privileged playboy with no intention of every settling down and marrying. Circumstances arise that throw them into a "marriage of convenience." It's a business dealing. One year. They both benefit. No feelings involved! Right?!? Well, if you want to see how that turns out, you need to read the book. It's definitely a wild ride!
I enjoy how JK weaves all of the other NOLA characters through the book. You get to know them and feel connected. Your senses come alive with the sights, and sounds, and smells of NOLA! They have a way of pulling you right into the book and making you feel a part of it all.
I was especially happy to see Jules back being his fabulous self in Neutral Grounds! PLEASE give Jules his own book. I *need* his story!!!

Need a caffeine fix? This is the book for you! CeCe makes a mean espresso and works hard at the business of making coffee and pastries for her customers.
Was great to catch up with CeCe and her friends. Though she was upset with Shep for ghosting her after their initial encounter, when he needed help obtaining his inheritance from his grandfather she selfishly stepped up, though at the time she was a bit tipsy.
What begins as a business deal starts to bloom into something more...something neither of them expected. Both make sacrifices and choices while thinking of the other.
Characters from the other NOLA books also make appearances (Maverick, Carys, Jules, Sarah, Shaw & Avery) and fit seamlessly into the story. Love when the gangs all there and look forward to the next installment!

Shepard “Shep” Rhys-Jones is mine. I need it known, that he’s all mine. He’s everything I love about a man wrapped into one fine specimen. Loving, caring, possessive, vulnerable, sexy, arrogant, commanding...I could keep going on and on.
CeCe Calhoun hasn’t had the best life but she’s worked really, freaking hard for everything she does have and she’ll be damned if she allows some stranger to take it all from her.
So, when she hears Shep saying he needs a wife to get his inheritance she offers her services. Even drunk she knows it’s not the best idea, but what could go wrong....???
Doesn’t take long for them to recognize their feelings have changed but what neither one of them can do is admit to them.
I love them so much! Shep gives me life. I kept smiling like a loon every time he did something. I swear even with all of his flaws, he’s perfect.

This book was everything! Funny, emotional, gut wrenching, and swoon worthy. What started out as a business arrangement became so much more. Mr. I’ll Never Get Married was brought to his knees and he didn’t even see it coming. CeCe snuck into his heart just by being herself. Those are my favorite kinds of love stories. CeCe is Ms. Independent and doesn’t know how to lean on others. She has always been the one to let people lean on her. She has supported herself and others for so long, she doesn’t know how to deal with her growing feelings for Shepard. It takes everything falling apart and a mural of a butterfly 😉, to bring things back together. I thought I couldn’t love a Jiffy Kate book more than I loved Blue Bayou and Come Again but I was wrong. This is their best book yet!

Jiffy Kate can just keep on writing, please. They know how to take a well-known trope and build on it, making the relationships deep and meaningful and the emotions they feel resonate.
Not quite enemies-to-lovers, but definitely different-sides-of-the-track, Shep and Cece bond over their differences and one another's drive. The sexual tension is off the charts, the chemistry is fun and spicy, and Cece is definitely not a "damsel in distress."
With two strong personalities, you get a ton of fiery comments and both Shep and Cece prove to be strong protectors of one another.
I love that Cece isn't a heroine that strives to only have a relationship. She has goals, he has goals, and they not only admire one another, but they respect each other.

Ah so our characters from the French Quarters are back and we are introduced to Cece and Shep. A fake marriage that slowly feels real. I loved the banter between Cece and Shep. I wanted to throw my kindle against the wall for the reluctance of feelings Cece and Shep were having for one another. I want to read the other books again to remember Maverick, Carys, Jules, Shaw and Avery. I love the family feel of these characters of friends. I love the writing style of these writing duos. Lovely story for some great characters that I’ we met in the previous book Come Again.
Fake marriage becomes friendship with benefits and of course life won’t let them just be.
I loved to go back in NOLA and visit old characters as well as making new acquaintances.
The writing is rich as always and gets you in the story without even realising.
The heart wants what it wants despite what the brain may think it’s better to do.
“If you love it, set it free.”
“Whoever said being in love was easy was a lying bastard.”

CeCe and Shep right from the start had this chemistry that just made me excited to read this story. Once I understood what happened in the past, I just knew that Shep was gonna have his hands full with CeCe. But little did I know, CeCe was gonna be my favorite. Such a strong, fierce young woman.

So many thoughts and feelings right now. I started this book and couldn’t put it down. This book was fantastic!! I loved Cece and Shep. The chemistry. The fake marriage. His powerful demeanor. Her sassy take no drama attitude. Seeing our favorite characters from previous stories, a wonderful surprise. I just loved everything about this book.
