This is the third book in the Obsidian Cove Supernatural Academy series. The main thrust of this book is the trial of Evander for his attack of Caldwell, a member of the high regency. There’s some mild intrigue and a reunion, of sorts, between Lennox and a long lost brother.
I thought the book was ok. But I have to admit, I’m finding Lennox exhausting and sometimes I wonder what the guys truly think of her. It sounds like, given their looks and stature in the supernatural community, they could each probably have their pick of women - or men! So why stick around someone that seems to be a black hole of emotional need? She spent almost the entire book so keyed up emotionally, that she was adversely affecting her mates OR she was either fainting or dropping into a deep sleep from sheer exhaustion. I found it extremely tiresome.
The main point of this book is Evander’s trial for attacking a member of the regency. Of course I understand his mates worry about his wellbeing as he is away from them and locked in the dungeon and is not treated well. However, Lennox’s behavior is, as usual, over the top. She acts like she the only person to have ever been through an emotional experience like this. So again, all it does is further alienate me.
While I still recommend this series, it’s not a hearty recommendation. The overarching storyline is intriguing and learning more about each of her mates is interesting.
