It's a good devotional book. Each day there is a different attribute of God that you read verses about and then there are journal pages.

A Treasury of Scripture

So many scriptures that explain each name included in this book. My favorite part of this devotional is "praying the scriptures."

Praying the Attributes of God was an excellent devotional. Some of the attributes really had me examining my faith and how I perceive God.

A very helpful resource for prayer and meditation! This book's 31 chapters each focus on one attribute of God. Rather than the author's comments or explanations of that attribute, she provides a list of about 10 verses that help you understand that attribute (provided in NIV, if you're curious). This first section is labeled "adoration", and she labels the next "confession" and provides a written prayer of confession inspired by those verses. The "Thanksgiving" section is 10 prayerful and grateful thoughts based on the prior 10 verses. Last of all, each chapter has a blank section for your own journaling; this is labeled "supplication."

Clearly, this is patterned after the ACTS method of prayer. It's an excellent model. 31 chapters make it perfect for going through in one month, but it can be revisited over and over. I plan to keep it on my devotion shelf alongside my bible. I found it particularly useful on those days when my personal bible reading didn't yield any foothold for my mind for the day-a thought to meditate on and come back to throughout the day.

I highly recommend this resource.

A dear friend gave me this book. I was teaching through VanderGriend's book 'Love to Pray' and talking about how praising God seems to be difficult when we cannot find the right words. She gave me Rosemary Jensen's book and I found it so delightful. One reason is that it is comprised mostly of Scripture... gathered together under 31 themes that describe the greatness of God. Jensen's role in Bible Study Fellowship undergirds the trust and depth of Bible study in which she has been involved. This is a book I read through, but it is more than that. I know it will be a resource for years to come as I spend time meditating on the attributes of God by simply thinking about Scripture. In some chapters I was able to add Scriptures and I plan to do that even more. This book will assist those who desire to pray with more regularity, giving structure, Bible verses, prayer prompts, and space for requests. So grateful to my friend for thinking of me and buying me this copy. I know it will make a lasting influence.

I loved using this book as a sort of daily devotional to help guide my daily prayer. Adoration has always been a weak point of mine in prayer, so this book was particularly helpful for me. I will continue reading through it in my quiet times.

Just excellent! Focusing on the attributes of God each day has shaped my prayer time and been so very encouraging. I love the journaling pages she included. One of the best books of my year and I will definitely go through it again.

So enjoyed the scripture that gave the attributes of God. I really liked how it helped me to confess where I have fallen short. And I loved praying the scriptures as a thanksgiving.

Nice devotional

I enjoyed using this devotional. Focusing on God’s attributes and then using the ACTS model of prayer is a method I will use again as I read Scripture on my own.
