Janie Marie is a wife and mother of three. She devotes her time to her family and her characters. She enjoys entertaining her readers by giving them glimpses of their favorite characters outside of the worlds she brought them to life in.
Her wish is simply that readers who manage to make it to the end of her stories take something away, and they keep it with them always.
Oh my, this was so hilariously bad that I couldn't stop reading 😂 It started off fine, but it quickly spiraled down into a disaster of epic proportions. Was Janie Marie high when she wrote this book? 😜
Writing style: Marie has a writing style that I can't help but love. The writing itself is just so addictive. It's too bad that her world-building and character development are so out of whack.
Characters: Jane was less of a crybaby in this book which was refreshing. She did become this all powerful being and her powers didn't make sense and her origin story was odd and badly explained. So was David's and Death's... Honestly, Janie Marie really was high writing this book. I can't honestly think of another reason why this was so messed up. Still living for everyone's banter. It's what got me through this trilogy. Hell, it's the only reason I kept reading these books.
Story: The plot was non existent. There were a few epic battles where I had a feeling I was truly reading a story, but the rest was just one big, sloppy mess. This book shouldn't be half as big as it is, and I honestly can't believe I didn't just DNF this train wreck...
Content warning for the whole trilogy: depression, gaslighting, abuse, rape, graphic violence, smut
This trilogy definitely had the potential to be great, but it did not deliver. Two stars from me for The Light Bringer. What a waste of time...
Just as a side note I normally just write my reviews as they come out in my head and most of my reviews are just my emotional ramblings. I decided I’d do that for this being that it will be basically impossible to not give away spoilers. I’ll include some quotes though :)
“He smiled that smile that always sat in the back of her mind. ‘And I will love you longer than always, Sweet Jane.’ “
The Light Bringer is the final book in the Gods and Monsters trilogy and was everything I wanted. I was a beta reader again and was able to experience the book in all its fabulous rawness.
“I am your David even after the end of time.”
First off, reading the ARC was amazing because I hadn’t read the first chapters in forever and I got to read it in full over the Easter holidays. The one thing I was so proud of with this book was how much the imagery and description had developed over the trilogy. There are some really beautiful scenes in the story, it’s a very visual story.
”’Oh, God, I forgot he stabbed you,’ she whispered after trying to pull free. ‘And you’re holding my fat ass after I hit you like a fucking semi.’”
In a short sum up, the book breaks boundaries. In all senses ;) It has epic romance, on a scale that you probably haven’t read before, insane battles and fantastical imagery. The shit hits the fan in the best way as it comes to an unexpected conclusion that kept me reeling for a few days. This book will test you, but it also will make you absolutely cackle with laughter. Like, there were parts where I was all alone in my room just laughing. The boys are just so funny and weirdly awkward. If you find the image of grown ass vampire warriors be so awkward when discussing sex and farting funny then you’ll like it lol.
“‘Are these assless chaps?’ ‘No.’ David glanced at her as a smile finally teased his lips. ‘Those are what’s left of my pants when Jane is hungry for me.’ Death tossed them at Jane. ‘Ay, Papi!’”
I won’t lie to you it’s a BIG book. It definitely requires some attention, it has some really complex ideas. Just know that a lot of the little things said in passing could be important, there’s reliance on your inference as a reader to understand the story. Not everything is explicitly said and spelled out for you. I’ll just say it’s not what I would class as a ‘beach read’.
“You are everything bright. You were only submerged in darkness.”
So yeah, it’s a deep and epic conclusion and one I’ve enjoyed reading because it’s full of hope and teaches you that it’s never just the end. And the ending!!! Such cuteness!!!
”No one will separate us. Not Lucifer, not God, and Death will always bring you back to me.”
ARC provided by the author. All quotes in this review came from an advance copy and may be subject to change in the final product.
This book was way way way too convoluted. There was already too much going on in the first two with literally every single myth/legend being in this, but there was MORE added in this book. This plot was a total mess, and the ending was kind of weird and not even satisfying. If this was not book 3 of a trilogy I would have DNF'd. It's just that I'd already read the first two books and I was really hoping it would get better because it's over 600 pages... But it didn't.
This whole book just flipped between being in battles (oh so many battles) and very convaluted (and not well written) plot stuff. We've added in the goddess Mania, all the Horseman show up, actual GOD himself is in this book. I just can't. The cliffhanger from book 2 left me on a high, and I was LET DOWN.
Jane gets back to David but with only half a soul (the good half). For the first 20% of the book David is just a (borderline abusive!!) prick who is not caring properly for Jane. Death eventually calls him out for this. Death & Jane get rid of their bond, which was obviously a terrible idea. Lucifer took her (again) and bonded with her. David and Death get her back and whoops turns out Death was her soulmate and they just broke that tie. That's gonna take some work to fix. The good news is that when they all have sêx together it makes Jane feel "happier and not broken anymore". Obviously they all end up together in the end in a weird dream but not dream light world. And Jane forgives literally every single evil person for being evil and somehow manages to fix them all.
The storyline really just needed a few improvements to at least have this be a readable book: • They needed to go more into the Queen of Hell thing. Like Jane got made the Queen but nothing really ever came of it other than a few guys pleging their allegiance to her in the war. THAT'S A BIG PLOT POINT THAT WAS NEVER EVEN REALLY USED. • This book didn't even circle back to what the zombie plague was doing for the humans while Jane has been doing all this weird stuff and being kidnapped for months. The virus was a big part of book one and we just never went back to how it affected the humans at all??? Just all these immortal people wars and then "oh all good now guys". • Book 3 needed to have just one BIG battle near the end, not 70 throughout the book. There has been plenty of battles in all the books it's not like we needed more???
Anyway, I just feel like this series had so much potential but the author just added in too much of everything all of the time. 😭(🎵A little bit of everything all of the time). Could've been. ✌️
The Light Bringer is the last book in the epic Gods and Monsters trilogy. And I had been very lucky to have been chosen to go through the most wonderful and amazing journey of Jane. This trilogy has it all. All you gotta do is give it a chance to be sucked in this universe of sexy and scary ass vampires, sassy werewolves and hilarious mysterious beings. It's equal parts falling on your ass funny, and sobbing your soul out sad. A true emotional rollercoaster.
The Light Bringer is the book where every bit of information given from the beginning starts making sense to you.
The puzzle pieces start falling in place, chapter by chapter and at one point you think that the picture you are getting is not the one you ever thought could be possible. But everything is possible in the Gods & Monsters universe. Except for Gareth to befriend an angel to get awesome gifts.
This book is so unbelievably filled with so many awesome and fun characters, you would think that how can one even manage to keep track of them. But that's where the amazing author Janie Marie comes in with her beautiful writing, that never ceases to render you speechless and overwhelm you with emotions all the while making you a part of the story instead of just being a reader flipping pages.
This book like the first two made me feel so many emotions, I cried, I laughed, I got angry, I felt pride but most of all I felt at peace with everything that was happening in the book, even when I was feeling overwhelmed with all the emotions.
I saw some major character development and I couldn't be more proud of those characters. I love them even more than I thought I could. There are slip ups, and some bad decisions are made and it made me wanna be on the side of the horses instead of their owners and Jane, of course. But like I said, the slip ups are a part of the story just as much as the characters who make them. So you get to see the characters own up, make unimaginable sacrifices that take a toll on your heart and still power through like nothing happened. The characters and the author have never failed to bring a teary eyed smile on my face. I never want to let go of them and I never will.
Before I begin I want to express how happy I am to have been a part of this G&M journey. I can’t believe Janie Marie the wonderful author has come so far. Her hard work paid off. Now if you haven’t read the first two books before this what are you even doing here check them out NOW and then come back for this. I thought the first two books were amazing and I didn’t know how Janie would do even more amazing to top them. Of course being the great writer she is she did a wonderful job of topping them with this last book of the series. She pulled me back into the world of the characters I have grown way too attached too. I’ve come to a point where I’m too invested I don’t think the are characters but rather real people. The clever artistry in Janie’s writing let me imagine the world she created like I was seeing it happen with my two eyes. This last book has a lot more action and Janie did a great job of making it interesting while still including the parts we all love. I’ve got to say there’s definitely a part which some may not have been expecting but it’s a shocker that I loved right away and continued to the more I read on. I of course had the privilege of helping Janie in this journey as a beta reader and I don’t think I can express how grateful I am to have been a part of this and help however I could. Yet I can’t stop the slight obsession I have right now with getting my hands on the physical copy of the third book so it can join the first two and I can read them as and when I please. I’m so excited for them to come out so you all can read and join me and those that have gone through this journey with Jane. Oh and of course our D’s can’t forget them. So take that step and start your journey in the G&M world and you won’t regret it.
i REALLY don’t know why i do that to myself, it was so BAD written… vampires, zombies, werewolves, angels, demons, lucifer, greek gods, FUCKING THOR, 4 horsemans, and then GOD HIMSELF, was Janie Marie high when she writes this?
NO SPOILERS REVIEW: Hello everyone! If you're interested in vamps, mythology, the paranormal, romance, you're in the right place! Janie has created an unbelievable world of Gods & Monsters, and I've been privileged to have been a part of it.
I can’t explain how wonderful it’s been to have had the opportunity of being one of Janie’s beta readers. I’ve read all three G&M books on Wattpad prior to beta reading. However, a lot has changed in book 3! Honestly, if it weren’t for the group of ladies beta reading with me, I would have lost my mind throughout the entire process of The Light Bringer--in a really great way; I needed someone to vent my emotions to!
This book (or trilogy, as a matter of fact) will challenge you. I can’t stress enough how emotionally charged it is. To see the characters develop so fully and beautifully is amazing. I’m astounded at the development--Janie did such a wonderful job.
There are crazy, epic battles; moments of despair, anger, love and laughter; and twists that you won’t ever see coming. I am so serious about this. Small side story: I was beta reading a particular chapter at roughly 2AM, with the biggest freaking twist known to mankind, and just had to quietly bawl my eyes out hoping my roommates won’t hear and think something is seriously wrong. IT WAS INSANE!
The amount of emotion displayed by the characters, and how they’ve matured so much from book to book, is astonishing. What the book will make YOU feel? EVERYTHING and ANYTHING. The serious moments were relieved by the humor sprinkled in, especially from my favorite Knights! And Papi… You’ll know once you read.
There are new characters, previous characters. Characters from different mythologies. The names have meanings--there was so much BTS debate on certain things. And then there is the romance… Ah, man. You just have to read it to understand it.
The End is near. So much happens, it can be difficult to wrap your head around it all. You get sucked into this world of Gods and Monsters, all the events and tiny details, the epic battles, the heart-wrenching moments, the laugh-so-hard-you-cry-and-clap-your-hands-like-a-seal moments, everything and anything has meaning to it. All your questions will be answered, in one way or another. And the answers you get are not the ones you would be expecting, at all.
It’s amazing. You just have to read it to make sense of it all!
What a finale. I both beta-read and proofread this book, so I got to read it twice before release, and I already want to read it again.
I was so nervous about reading The Light Bringer because I didn’t think anything could top book two, The Fallen Queen. Wow, was I wrong. The stakes are higher than they’ve ever been, something I didn’t think possible, and everything is next level—the love, the heartbreak, the friendship, the sacrifice, the forgiveness—my God, there is so much love and forgiveness in this book, it leaves you with a light feeling.
The twists and turns (one plot twist in particular for me—you’ll know it when you come across it) are phenomenal, heartbreaking, and twists that you truly do not see coming. You really don’t see where the story is going until it gets there, and it's so incredibly well-balanced—you will be laughing, crying, and screaming all in one chapter.
And just as the story grows to beyond what you could possibly imagine, so do the characters. Their plight becomes so much more hard-hitting than it’s ever been before. We get to see them face their demons—their greatest fears—and they fall, but they also get back up and grow and become better, for themselves and the people they love. It’s really not an experience I can put into words. As far as character development goes, it’s amazing.
It's also more visual than the two books before it, with imagery that basically jumps off the page and puts you right there in the G&M world, a world I feel very, very lucky to have been a part of, both in reading and contributing as a beta-reader. I really couldn't imagine it not in my life anymore.
To finish up, if I had to describe this book in one word, it would be epic. Epic battles, epic monsters, epic twists, and epic characters with an epic amount of feeling. It’s more of everything that made the first two books so amazing and answers all of the questions you could have possibly asked. It's definitely a worthy conclusion to the trilogy that will have your heart racing as you sit on the edge of your seat.
The beginning of an end. An end of a new beginning. The trilogy of Gods and Monsters comes to an end. Thus, bring The Light Bringer. And I hate it. Lol. Just kidding. This is probably by far the most beautiful end I have read. An epic one. I still can’t believe this is the last installment. As a hardcore G&M fan, I find myself wanting it so bad to finish reading but at the same time not really want it to end. I still want to linger a little more in their world and savor each moment. They say, “Save the best for last”. Gods & Monsters and The Fallen Queen are the best. But The Light Bringer is an epic best. Just as I hope, the author, Janie Marie never fails to shocked and amazed me yet again with her magical writing. She really knows how to make her characters alive, fiction yet so real. A wonderful story telling you can’t help to naturally connect with each character. The story gives more. It’s a given since it’s the last from the trilogy. By more, I mean more characters to love or hate, swoon and drool over, fantasize or ripped their heads off. 😂 More action packed battles, heart wrenching and shocking truths. More character developments. More fun and laughter ( I even teared up from laughing). It gives you more roller coaster of emotions, heartache and pain. But in the end, I felt at peace and content. Because I am happy it ends. It ended the way I feel and think it should be. A happy ending for Jane. Because that’s what she deserves, they all deserved. I’m glad I followed through their journey and stayed. Their journey from this trilogy might end. But their souls might still be lurking around somewhere. 😉 P.S. For WAOTBBW fans, I bet you’ll be thrilled to give G&M trilogy a shot. Just start accordingly.
This the final book in the Gods & Monsters series and it was epic. While the first 2 books often leave you with a ton more questions than answers, this final part is where it all comes to light.
You might have thought you knew what you were getting into after reading book 1, or even book 2, but this book throws all those expectations right out the window. The amount of plot twists and all the secrets that will be revealed will finally make sense. You will realise that every little action in the previous books all lead to this one final epic part.
Be prepared to go on an emotional rollercoaster from hell… At times you’re gonna cry, scream in frustration, laugh, cheer out loud or get extremely angry or even all of the emotions at once, but it’ll be worth it.
While I often feel that trilogies get drawn out too much, I didn’t have that in this series at all. There’s so much going on it’s impossible to get bored with it. You get it all, magic, fairytale creature, mythology, love, action and so much more!
The characters are real and very relatable and with the way the story is written, you’ll feel like you’re right there to experience it all with them. Their growth, their sorrows, victories, all of it. Which is what made this final book hard for me to read. I felt for the characters, I lived it with them and every bad thing that happened hurt my heart and every good thing made me smile like an idiot in public!
It’s very important to read book 1, Gods & Monsters, first. The books have to be read in order. And even if it’s a huge story, you’ll thank yourself for picking it up!
I just have to start out with: if you think you know how TLB is going to wrap up the trilogy, have a seat because I can just about guarantee you have no idea what's coming. Never before has a book, let alone a series, taken me to the places that the G&M world has. Every time you think you've finally figured it out, the author, Janie, chews you up and spits you out. It was the most unique journey I've ever experienced from any book or series. I can't even think of one single moment where all of the pieces and answers just fall into place, there's too many pivotal moments to belittle it to one key scene. Up until the very end you're getting just a little bit more of the puzzle. And, when you finally close that final chapter you will understand the importance of Jane, her life, and her story. The G&M Trilogy was never meant to just be another zombie story, it goes so, so far beyond that.
Along with the first two installments in the trilogy, TLB will break your heart at times. It will take you into a dark place, but it will also uplift you and make you smile, laugh, and most definitely cry. Bonds and relationships are formed that are both in your face obvious and slap you in the face surprising. Every single character brings something personal and beautiful to the story, and you can really tell Janie poured her very heart and soul into every single page of that book, of that entire trilogy. See for yourself, you have to.
I was privileged to be have the opportunity to beta-read this book, and cannot convey what a journey this trilogy has brought me on. The final installment, The Light Bringer has something for everyone: passionate romance, heartbreak, action, dystopia, fantasy... Full of twists, there's no doubt that this book will keep you on your toes, but there's an incredible balance to the book, delivering a convincing and enthralling finale.
Character-wise, I found myself feeling almost among friends while reading this book. The sheer length of the trilogy means that the reader knows every character inside out by the end, and has watched them progress and grow into such different people. No character is left undeveloped, no character arc cliché or forced, no half measures no fear unconquered. At times, Jane seems borderline two-dimensional in her fortitude and courage, but her inherent goodness manages to stay on the good side of righteous, and all is of course explained beautifully in the end.
Janie Marie's writing is at once hilarious, tear-jerking, heart-wrenching, and always always captivating. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect ending to an already showstopping trilogy.
Going into this trilogy and having the honor of beta reading for the author Janie Marie has legit been a dream come true. I wasn't sure exactly what I was getting myself into when I began reading this story, but along the way and I'm not exactly sure when it happened, I realized that I was in love with the story and the characters. When they laughed or cried, I laughed and cried. When the main character Jane hurt or was angry, I felt those emotions as if they were my own. There were so many moments where I didn't think my heart could take another twist or bomb dropping that I was scared during so many chapters. That's what this trilogy and this book in general does, it wraps you so far up into it that you eat, sleep and breath Gods and Monsters. You wish that you could be like Jane and that David would be your very own night in shining armor and that Death would give you just 1 smile! If you haven't read it, then you should be reading it! How else are you gonna know what or who the hell I'm talking about. The ending alone is worth every tear stained shirt and panic attack! Janie Marie has done a phenomenal job of showing me that there is a little Jane in every single one of us.
The Light Bringer is the final installment of the Gods and Monsters Trilogy, it does not disappoint. Not many people can stick through a book series that is such an emotional rollercoaster, but those who can manage it, get the greatest gift of all - an amazing story, which ties up all three books in the most special way. The Light Bringer is steamy and sexy and it also still brings about so many plot twists. The wonderful thing, is that a loy of the confusion and secrets in the trilogy get revealed through mind boggling revelations. It is the kind of book where once you get to the end a lot may be cleared up, but even days after things start clicking and you have several "a-ha!" moments.
Jane and her men continue to take you on am unimaginable adventure, and it is one you do not want to miss.
Character development from the first book to the final book is phenomenal! TLB is phenomenal overall, and it was definitely worth my while. I highly recommend this trilogy, because everyone deserves the chance to experience this adventure.
This book was a work of art. A masterpiece. The violence, the love and the terror all made you live out each scene with the characters. Janie Marie wrote something special with this book. It leaves you breathless and makes your heart race, your fears become Jane's and you imagine that it is you that David is holding not her. The eloquently written words pound through the very depths of my soul when I read this. I gasp and shudder and whimper, all while waiting for the next page turn. I read this whole book in one night with a test the next morning. I just couldn't put it down. My eyes were glued to the page. This book is one for the big guys who like the cry when they read because you will and you can't help it. It's absolutely beautiful.
(I was an ARC reader, but all my opinions are my own)
This series was really hard for me to push through at times but I'm so glad I did. To see Jane's growth and development and to finally see her become who she was meant to be made all the pain and suffering worth it. She is such an awesome character, so vulnerable and so kickass and I frickin love Death (David's pretty cool also). I will say one major drawback to this whole serious for me . Overall the serious was worth it all though
This Trilogy takes you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions! I laughed outbound, cried, cheered and felt everything the characters Janie Marie created felt. This is a powerful conclusion to an incredible story. I am recommending this trilogy to everyone I know!!! Thank you Janie Marie for sharing a little piece of you and creating such an awesome world that I could get lost in when my own world is falling apart.
Janie is incredible. Her books are some of the most emotional and incredible books I’ve ever read. She knows how to take words on a page and create them into and incredible and intricate world that we are transported too. I don’t think I’ve ever cried so much, smiled so much, and felt so deeply about characters before.
A trilogy at its finest! My heart was broken and ripped out but this book showed me how to put the pieces back together. Janie Marie gave us everything and more. She gave us a world where we think we know what’s going to happen but the rug gets pulled out from under us just to have someone catch us. This collection is a must have for not just book worms but book lovers.
Amazing! This book ends the series in the beat possible way. It is the best outcome. I couldn't imagine another one. It's hard to describe because if you can think of a good adjective, it can most likely apply here. The simplest way to do how I felt after, is content.
Some parts I really enjoyed and even teared up at but i had skim other parts. It was long af ans didnt need to be and just found parts boring and dragged, especially when they'd been loads of battle scenes throughout the trilogy
To say this trilogy became and emotional roller-coaster is not an apt description. These books have torn me down and made me cry, then made me laugh through the tears, and break a little more, before rebuilding my broken heart.
It took me four days to get through the first two books but took four days total for this one. This is mostly because I wasn’t ready for the story to come to an end and wanted to drag it out as long as possible. I’m incredibly sad that it is over. ---- After Lucifer stole her darkness and hands Jane to Death; we are pulled into Light Bringer to find Jane is home with David where she feels happy and loved, but this is short-lived as she reveals details of her time spent in Hell. Unable to process his emotions David leaves the kingdom, leaves Jane.
Unwilling to watch her deteriorate into herself again; her Angel of Death bestows a gift for her in the form of an old face from her childhood. Yet, even that bittersweet moment is ruined when all hell breaks loose around the reunion. Once again Jane is forced again to pick up her sword and fight, only now without her dark abilities.
The first great fight of The Light Bringer is, in my opinion, the unholy version of HBO’s ‘Battle of the Bastards’. I was entirely unable to stop reading, my adrenaline pumping, and giving a lot of Atta-Girl‘s while also falling desperately for the Angel of Death myself.
Janie Marie’s mid-battle introduction of new players plus the decimation of older ones left me with just one thought – How am I going to pull through when I finish this trilogy? The answer to that thought was ice-cream.
Usually the ‘big reveals’ are put into the last 20 or so pages in most books, but not in The Light Bringer. The answer to all the questions, the revelations, and the reason behind so much heartache for Jane took up the last 30% and during the final battle with darkness.
Admittedly it took me a while to get my head around so much information, Janie Marie leaves quite a bit on the reader to absorb and make sense of. The only complaint I have with the ending are the time leaps themselves. I’m not sure if it’s to do with my copy (even though it was through Kindle Unlimited itself) but there’s very little formatting to show where one encounter ends and the next begins. Not even a paragraph break in some cases. I don’t fault the author but the proofreaders and editor should have noted this before publication. ----
To summarize this entire journey with Jane, I definitely recommend that everyone grabs a copy of this set of books. The story is compelling, relatable for some, and the cover artwork by Thander Lin is to die for. So much so that I have it set as my current phone background.
With that said here is a quote that I found incredible.
"Even when you do get lost in darkness, which I know is your pain and past, you are meant to conquer it. You may not be able to now, but I have faith in you. I believe only one who has experienced the darkest of nights can find the strength to turn night into day."

I’m ALWAYS gonna give Janie’s book a 5 star rating! I’ve read so many supernatural stories in my 24 years of living and she’s STILL my number ONE author. I can read her books over and over again and not ever get bored. I would recommend it to anyone to read what she’s throwing down. Unless you haven’t had the time to actually get to know Jane you might not understand why these books came to life, but those who do already and continually support her. Keep kicking ass Jane, don’t let Death OR David down😘

I definitely cried over many scenes that were involved because of how deep the wording was. . “𝐴𝑙𝑤𝑎𝑦𝑠, 𝑏𝑒𝑎𝑢𝑡𝑦 𝑤ℎ𝑜 𝑑𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒𝑠 𝑖𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑑𝑎𝑟𝑘." . 𝖢𝗁𝖺𝗋𝖺𝖼𝗍𝖾𝗋𝗌: The characters were truly so incredibly in depth. I felt like they were real people with how I could connect with them so easily. There were moments when they’d either make me cry or laugh from how funny and weirdly awkward they’d be. I loved how they all went through major growth and different amounts of redemption. Most of them will be added to some of my favorite characters of all time with how unforgettable they are. - 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝗲 = she is such a strong flawed female character that I’ve grown to love. “𝙎𝙝𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙘𝙖𝙥𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙬𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨." I realized over time just how real of a character she is by all her flaws. “𝙎𝙝𝙚'𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙖 𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙢𝙞𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙤𝙪𝙨𝙡𝙮 𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙨 𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥, 𝙙𝙤𝙪𝙗𝙩, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙭𝙞𝙚𝙩𝙮, 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙨𝙝𝙚'𝙨 𝙞𝙢𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙘𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚." This caused me to relate to her so much more especially her constant crying because girl…me too. - 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗱 = firstly, he is so freaking good with words! “𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙖 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩. 𝙏𝙤𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙧𝙤𝙬, 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙄 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙗𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙣 𝙖 𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙩𝙚𝙧. 𝙄 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙗𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙤𝙣𝙚, 𝙢𝙮 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚." Secondly, he was the Mr. Papi Perfect of the whole trilogy. “𝙃𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣. 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙗𝙤𝙩𝙝 𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙚. 𝙏𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧, 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙂𝙤𝙙'𝙨 𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣." And lastly, I seriously love him so much! - 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵 = this immortal specimen gave me so many feelings!! He has a special place in my heart. The amount of love he would’ve had to have for Jane to go through and do what he did is incredible and so inspiring. “𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵, 𝘀𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗿." The fact that without Jane he is just Death and nothing more but with Jane he was able to do something no one expected and actually show love to not only her but the people she cared able to make her happy. Geez I’m getting teary again... - 𝗟𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗲𝗿 = I really loved the more amount of Lucifer! I knew that there was more to him than the second book showed. “𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙠 𝙮𝙤𝙪, 𝙅𝙖𝙣𝙚." 𝙃𝙚 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙝𝙚'𝙙 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙙 𝙤𝙣 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩. "𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙖𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙗𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨. 𝙉𝙤 𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧. 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙢𝙮 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙦𝙪𝙚𝙚𝙣." The fact that he was looking out for Jane so fiercely and loving her so much behind the scenes of it all…breaks my heart. - 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗼𝘁 = I wanted to talk about this side character a bit because I feel that my feelings for him completely changed over the course of the trilogy. My first impression of Lancelot was that I found his name choice amusing but did not like him as a character at all. In this last book, the amount of pain he suffered, growth he endured and redemption that he received caused me to fully go soft and love him. He quickly became one of my favorite characters and I ended up crying over him a lot because of the new light perspective I was shown. I appreciate what he did for Jane in the end and will miss him. . 𝖱𝗈𝗆𝖺𝗇𝖼𝖾: Jane ended up having many love interests but I lived for it! It honestly didn’t bother me and I loved them all for different reasons. The romance got so hot and steamy with some scenes since instead of just a love triangle, it went in the direction of a three person relationship! I love the taboo style and how it was new territory with me but ended up enjoying it because of how it was dealt with in such a mature, no misunderstandings kind of way. I also appreciated how it was made very clear each time that all the participants wanted it. . “𝑇ℎ𝑒𝑖𝑟 𝑓𝑙𝑎𝑚𝑒𝑠 – 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑖𝑟 𝑠𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑠 – 𝑑𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒𝑑, 𝑏𝑒𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑗𝑢𝑠𝑡 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑛𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡." . 𝖤𝗇𝖽𝗂𝗇𝗀: The ending was an unexpected conclusion with A LOT going down which caused a bit of confusion at times but I understood more when it all came together and enjoyed it. There were many time gaps of years between the last chapters but I liked how that gave me the chance to read the characters’ lives after the main story and major battle. . "𝐺𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑡𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑠 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑠𝑢𝑝𝑝𝑜𝑠𝑒𝑑 𝑡𝑜 𝑓𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑎𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑢𝑡𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑜𝑓 𝑎𝑓𝑒𝑤 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑑𝑠." . 𝖮𝗏𝖾𝗋𝖺𝗅𝗅: This book was an epic finale to this great fantasy trilogy that I’ll never forget! I definitely recommend to those looking for a fast paced, action-packed, emotional ride filled with a lot of fantasy and sexy immortals to fall in love with. . 𝖱𝖺𝗍𝗂𝗇𝗀: ★★★★★ . 𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐞 ♡
This is my opinion, sooooo…. I bought this book because I saw one of my favourite BookToker’s receive it as a gift and a few other BookTokers showed it off, and I was blown away by the absolutely gorgeous covers (Well done to Thander Lin – truly, it’s amazing). I did not finish this book. I tried, but I just couldn’t…
I don’t like not finishing books, but I really couldn’t deal with Jane one more time. She is so possessive over every single man she meets – David, Death, the Knights, her cousin who was just randomly chatting with Artemis and who David told her to be cool, and then she and the knights spoke badly of Artemis RIGHT AFTER an explosive battle that Jane – who lost nearly every single fight – championed. I see no character development in Jane, and I really wanted to cheer for her but she made it so hard. I feel like there was no story, no plot other than Jane trying to decide between Death and David when it ended how I kind of guess – a throuple. She would’ve saved herself so much torture if she did that in book 1.
I’m sorry. I couldn’t. If Jane shed one more tear, I was going to have a breakdown.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I didn't left a review for book one or two because I honestly wanted to review the whole saga.
At the beginning, this wasn't my style, wolfs, vampires, zombies...not me. But Janie fused the Gods and Monsters in her story in such a way it didn't bother me, I even forgot they were not humans and fell in love with some of them.
I felt inmerse in this world and some of the parts (like the dancing flames 🥰) got me so focused that I couldnt put the book down for saving my own social life.
I recommend it if you have no problem with supernatural creatures and if you really want to read about them for a completely different perspective, It was worth my time, at least.
Why not 5 stars? There were some parts that were highly confusing so I had to go a few pages back to really understand what was really happening and also Jane's behavior (although I understood some of her struggles) was kinda of repetitive in a way it started to loose meaning (even when, at the enf of the book, I totally got why she was like that)
The final book of the trilogy picked up and is definitely better than the other 2. You finally some growth for Jane.
I have no idea why the author made Jane so irritatingly annoying in all the books.
I pushed through to the end and honestly, the whole thing did not meet up to the hype and expectations I had after reading many reviews and seeing the authors tiktoks for the books.
Initially I had expected a serious amount of adventure and fighting with spice and great romance. And it fell super short, like under 1/4 of my expectations in literally every category.
I'm usually not one to rate so low and will skip the review and rating in order to not hurt an author's rating because not all books are for everyone but on occasion I have to voice it out.
Mostly because the books had so so sooooooooooo much more potential and it was like the story would get close and then consistently fall short causing so much disappointment.
Everything has finally come down to finale. This book brings it all together. The good, bad and ugly. Everything is revealed. Battles are fought and all the players are are on the board and it’s time to put up or shut up. Jane is there with her mythical beings that you learned about in the 1&2 book gearing up to defend everyone she loves. It’s a powerful and emotional journey that takes so much of you, you can only root for her victory. And no matter what you think the ending is our amazing author Janie Marie has made it so after all the twists turns and heartbreak. You finally are at peace in the end. Amazing job she is one of my favorite authors. She just gives so much of herself and you can tell with the groups backing her and the wonders she creates that she is loved. This book is masterfully done as always with her and I love telling everyone about it.
This is the end of the series and I couldn’t be more proud of Jane and Janie! The series is outstanding and amazing, and my second favorite of Janie’s work- the first being WAotBBW. Once I jumped into those series, I couldn’t come back out of it. This series disregards the norms of society and teaches the audience that through the hardships of life, you can come out on top as long as you believe in yourself and don’t give up! This series isn’t for everyone, but for those of you it is for- you’ll never find anything better! You will cry and feel every emotion Janie throws at you and you will be so glad she did! When you read the G&M series, you don’t just read it, you experience it. You live it and you feel as though you are actually there and it is the best experience you’ll ever have! This series is worth every chance you get it and you’ll be glad you followed it through.
