Aiden Wilson Tozer was an American evangelical pastor, speaker, writer, and editor. After coming to Christ at the age of seventeen, Tozer found his way into the Christian & Missionary Alliance denomination where he served for over forty years. In 1950, he was appointed by the denomination's General Council to be the editor of "The Alliance Witness" (now "Alliance Life").

Born into poverty in western Pennsylvania in 1897, Tozer died in May 1963 a self-educated man who had taught himself what he missed in high school and college due to his home situation. Though he wrote many books, two of them, "The Pursuit of God" and "The Knowledge of the Holy" are widely considered to be classics.

A.W. Tozer and his wife, Ada Cecelia Pfautz, had seven children, six boys and one girl.

This devotional by A. W. Tozer is a great book for daily reading. Each day has a short but worthwhile devotional taken from the many things that Tozer has written. For me I can only read Tozer in short snippets so I thought this devotional would be perfect. I also like that the daily readings aren’t too short and have some depth. So many devotional books are fluffy two second reads that don’t require much thought and this one is not like that. While it is a shorter daily reading, each one I have read has prompted more in depth study which is great!

This is a great devotional and I highly recommend for Tozer fans.

Five Stars.

In this devotional book, you have a passage from the Bible, some words written by Tozer, and short prayers. You will find wisdom, hope, and encouragement to love God and His Word. This book is made of several of his writings during his life and short prayers. I think is an enjoyable book where you can grow your love and knowledge about the Son of God every day of the year. Look for the other devotionals of this series, they are also great.

I have shared before that I´m not very into devotional books, why then am I chose to give this a try? Because I have enjoyed Tozer´s books a lot in the past. I see him as a very passionate and deep thinker. I remember I shared before how much I enjoy Tozer´s books.

Another note about the author: I shared before how much it was disappointing to me when I read in a bio about Tozer when they share how He neglected His family. I wanted to stop reading about Him and was very sad to find out this part of his sad story. Then, I changed my mind, I decided I was going to still read his material, toss the bad, embrace the good (that is a lot) but always keeping in mind He was just a person, like everyone immersed in his own fallacies, sin, and temptation. I´m sure all the authors have a lot of sad and ugly things, but not everyone has been exposed to a biography. Also, I can recall every time I remember Tozer, how much you can get into something that you may tend to forget or run away from the most important goals God trusted us in this life, you can have mistakes and still being a tool for others to know about God.

This is the perfect, bite sized devotional. Tozer has such a beautiful way with descriptions and theology, and he is so full of encouragement and joy for our Lord! The devotional is laid out amazingly, with a verse, a short excerpt from a written work of Tozer, and a prayer, then room at the bottom for a little note if you like. I have been loving getting to know my Savior in this quick, topical way the last two years I’ve been going through these books, and I can’t wait for my final year next year!

I have studies A.W. Tozer through other devotionals in the past. I have found he always speaks to my heart and his entries have true meaning.

None of the passages are very long so it make a convenient devotional that will resonate with the reader throughout the day.

I was given this book by NetGalley and Moody Publishing in exchange for my honest review.
