Cary Selden Rodman (February 19, 1909 – November 2, 2002) was a prolific American writer of poetry, plays and prose, political commentary, art criticism, Latin American and Caribbean history, biography and travel writing—publishing a book almost every year of his adult life, he also co-edited Common Sense magazine.
Overall, an interesting read, but very inconsistent. The text would talk about how the loa aren't "good" or "bad," per se, but aspects of different attributes and personalities and backgrounds-- but then a caption on a picture would say, "Vever of ThisOrThatPetroLoa, the Evil God of Suchlike." And I'd think, "Quoi?" So I have to wonder if someone else captioned the photos, because if Rodman did, the book's a mess. Not sure what editor let that go by, unless it was one who hadn't read the actual text of the book...
