Misfit Shifters #2

For Fox Sake

Rate this book
Donuts, danger, and delts. That’s my recipe for fun fox-style.

Cummings Cove has lived up to its name with a well of bubby, delicious fun. And I’ve got my two delectable Sand Cat Shifters to thank for that.

But, in my life, comfortable never lasts for long. A body has been found within town lines, belonging to a baker who was dipping her hands in more than her own flour. Drawn to the case like frat boys to edible underwear, my boys and I go on the hunt for who may have been delving into the baker’s cookie jar.

Just when we’re closing in on the suspect, someone puts a target on the back of one of my boys. Ah, hell no. No one messes with what’s mine. Little known fact about foxes? Pretty as we are... we aren’t afraid to bite.

At 60k words, Scarlet's Why Choose Adventures are a splurge-worthy cocktail of rumpled sheets, enticing mysteries, shirtless men, and snarky humor!

**********Contains Spoilers**********

I enjoyed this book. After Scar receive Evan’s the Rabbit shifters blo*dy paw in a bakery box delivered to her door with a note she decides to do her own investigating even though her mate Travis is the chief of police. Her and the twins break in to the juice shop where Evan was m*rdered to try and find some clues but they get caught and to say that Travis her mate is unhappy is an understatement and decides to punish her to show her the consequences of her actions but it was very hard limit that the bruising on her a*se took awhile to go down so found for someone’s first foray into D/S lifestyle it was a tad much but Scar ended up liking it and that’s the main thing. Is Travis right to question who Wulf is and where he came from as he’s right that Wulf seems to have tactical training but he told Scar that he was from a Zoo and followed her and the twins to Cummings Cove when he scented her at the Airport. Wow, what an ending. I’m glad that I don’t have to wait until the final book comes out so I can find out who the m*rderer is, why they’re doing it and does it have something to do with Scar st*bbing her old Alpha and possibly k*lling him to protect her and her mates or is it completely unrelated. I’m looking forward to reading the next book to see what antics her and her mates get up too next. I’d recommend this book, series and authors to everyone.

Well time of death....22% of the way. The reason: the FMC did something stupid and one of the men in her harem decides to physically punish her. I have no problem with kink as long as it is consensual, boundaries are communicated, safe word established along with trust. After those things are established then all parties can and should participate in a scene. None of those things happened. The man was furious and started spanking the FMC...this is physical abuse. Not to mention the FMC was restrained in a way that she couldn't defend herself. He did not ask if she wanted this. He did not give her a safe word. He did not ask what her soft and hard limits are. He did not spank her to turn her on. He spanked her in anger. It doesn't matter if the other person likes it or not. You can't hit/spank someone in anger to punish someone for their behavior. That is physical abuse and that is a hard NOPE for me.

I don't even know now where to start. I normally love Rae Foxx books. However this one drove me nuts. The thing that bothered me most was the MC, Scarlet, believing she is this super awesome detective and that she's going to out the killer. She spends the entire book bumbling around undermining the real investigation. And what's worse is the chief of police who is her mate let's her! Nothing really happens in the entire book until the end and that's like the last 5 minutes of the book. It's like reading about a child. The antics of the twins are over the top and even though they are referred to as fray brother antics they are more reminiscent of 14 year old boys. I read her previous books about the bloodwood academy and the characters there were much more adult and real world. Now they just behave like teenagers.

I wanted to like this spin off series, but it just wasn’t for me.

Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...

1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.

2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.

3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.

4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.

5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.

I loved this book so much. I love Scarlet and her quirky self. She has come a long way since we first met her in Bloodwood Academy. So here she is trying to figure out who is sending her packages. While at the same time she is becoming a freak due to her sexy mates. Wulf, Evan, Owen and Travis. Travis is the chief of police in the town they reside in. So what does she do? She starts sleuthing! This is very funny. However, she does get in trouble and is taught a lesson and oh boy that is hot!! Then everything gets crazy and something happens. Scarlet is about to lose her mind and I need to know what she is going to do. It is getting good. I cannot wait to see what will happen.

Good read

This was a good read. Better in the second half with a kicker for a cliffhanger. The main thing I don't like is the immature antics. It was cute in bloodwood academy since they weren't the main characters but now it's just too much. Scarlett and the twins need to grow up some.

Another great book

Totally love Scarlett and her guys. This book like the last is full of hot steamy action plus plenty of twists and turns in the search for a murderer. Each character brings something to this book to keep you turning the pages, with an amazing storyline to boot. What more can you ask for, so go grab your copy today

C+ at the best

I’m on to book 3 now, but so far I can say for bloodwood academy books....these are letting me down. From the almost abuse that turns scar on eventually to the stupidity of the murders and her mate cop. I know ivy wouldn’t have none of this crap and her mates wouldn’t let her if she (ivy) tried. Yea two diff stories but what should be same strong woman leader. Ugh

For Fox Sake

I really like Scarlet and her mates. But I really don't like cliff hangers, so I'm glad that book 3 is out! :)

Scarlett & her boys are trying to figure out what is going on in Cummings Cove. So far, they are not getting very far with their search for clues and murderers. Maybe they will find the right clue before something terrible happens.

I struggled a bit with this one, mainly because the characters just seem all over the place, and there just doesn't feel like there's cohesion. The twins took a huge back seat in this one, and they felt forgotten sometimes. The mystery is getting more intense, with a lot of back and forth between suspects. That ending was crazy.

Foxx!

Hotness on a cracker! I love how Scarlet and her boys have no problems with showing their affection. If you like murder mysteries AND sexy time, this is definitely the book series to read! Definitely a roller coaster of emotions!

Good

Had a lot of funnies. And more hot scenes. But it seemed a little slow in parts, and a bit confusing. And I’m not sure how I feel about Scarlet at this point, she seems so delusional or just really unobservant to go with her impulsiveness.

So many continuing secrets

Love the plot, love the character development in the harem. A little disappointed that 5 books in with this amazing heroine, she seemed to be a lot sillier, tended to uselessly posture, just wasn't as badass intelligent. Still FABULOUS humor.
