If happiness is a gift. Then Cameron Stanton is my Santa Claus.
I can't tell you the exact moment I fell in love with him. Only that I did. With every glance, every touch, every minute.... he stole a little more of me.
They say that all men are created equal. Well that's a blatant lie!
I know because I met Gods gift to women in Vegas, I pretended he was my husband to get rid of another man.
He took our fake marriage seriously and it became his personal goal to consummate. He spoke to me in French and I lied to him in German.
His laughter was addictive.
But I thought what happens in Vegas would stay in Vegas.
Until it didn't. Dr. Stanton turned up where I least expected and my lies came back to haunt me.
The attraction is palpable. The secrets unchangeable. I need him more than air.

It is so bad, I want to give you a zero, but that's not possible, so I give you a one.
I know I am in the minority here, but I could not for the life of me understand why people liked this novel! The MC was incredibly unlikeable, she was horrendously judgemental, especially towards other women and their choices. And our hero had NO redeemable characteristics, I can't even name a single thing about him that was likeable. I am all for toxic romances in romance novels, but there wasn't anything about the characters or their dynamic that made up for the toxicity. Cameron says on multiple occasions "over my dead body" responding to Ashley's decisions. Granted they were incredibly dumb decisions, but still, maybe not the most healthy form of communication. Honestly, it was like any time a decision presented itself to Ashley she just thought "hmm, what would be the most immature thing to do? Ahh, yes that will do." Moving on, this book made me do something that I have never done before, it made me actively root for the main couple to stay separated. If you have read this book you may know what I am referencing, but there is a decision that Cameron makes towards the end of the book that was so unredeemable, so unforgivable that I honestly could not get behind them as a couple. Look, "he was doing what was right" um no, the man wanted to control everything, and when he couldn't he took action to hurt the people he was supposed to love. Honestly, this book makes me so mad. I can't get behind it. If you enjoyed it, which most people did, I am so happy for you, maybe these books by TL Swan just aren't for me, but ugh this book made me so incredibly mad.
I read this standalone a couple years ago and was excited that the Box Set came up as free on #kindleunlimited. I love a story where you can delve into their past, understand their present, and know their future and this boxset has it all in one place. Dr. Cameron Stanton unexpectedly meets our heroine, Ashley, in Vegas, and pretends to be her husband as the overview states to ward off the unwanted affections of another man. I do believe in love at first and the way the story was written, you will believe every word of their instant connection and how even after they parted, they were always on each other’s minds.
Due to some unforeseen circumstances which I don’t want to spoil for you, they don’t meet up until years later when she winds up at a hospital as one of his new interns. I love that Ashley is smart and confident, and how she balanced her life and school all as a single mom. I loved how they spoke in French and German to each other and were just so in-tune and smitten with each other. Their love and relationship wasn’t easy on many levels, and this very in-depth book will take you through it all. There are times I wanted to smack Cameron, and I was worried for Ashley for the choices she was making, but the author will put you at ease, after lots of angst, and make you feel their every emotion. People aren’t perfect and neither is life, and this book to me really reflected that.
Cameron was totally devoted to Ashley and I am glad he was portrayed that way and not as some sleazy, sleep-around doc. Sure they were with other people during their time apart, but once they reconnected, they were all in. He was the total package with loads of charm and class, and I loved watching their relationship grow from a one-night stand to forever.
This box set is about Cameron Stanton, brother to Joshua Stanton, and is a surgeon. Cameron is the fun, easy-going, charming one in the Stanton clan. He uses his charms to nab a mystery woman in Vegas and they share a wonderful night together. Several years later, they meet in an awesome coincidence but mystery woman is keeping a HUGE secret. I loved Cameron and Ashley are great together. I hated how rash Cameron acted when he discovered her secret. He acted like his brother Joshua and I hated it. Other than that, I loved the book.
I usually really enjoy T.L. Swan as an author but I just couldn't get past my dislike of the main character in this book. I swear she should have been called Wendy with how much whining she did throughout the entirety of the book. Also I couldn't get past her making her own decisions and then being mad about the consequences. Also the lies/secrets she kept that she just assumed everybody would be able to look past and get over astonished me. I'm honestly surprised I even got through this book with the amount of eye rolls I was doing.
I Give this Book a 4-4.5/5 Star Rating, Listing as a High 4.
**Audiobook review at bottom :)
HEA(?): An Awesome HEA. Relationship Type: MF Heat: 4.5/5 Romance: 4-4.5/5 Pacing: Pacing is pretty smooth throughout :) Drama: 3.5-4-4.5/5, I kinda not sure where to stand in certainty of this specific rating, but regardless it’s really good! I do wish there was more angst-drama, don’t know why I was craving it so much while listening to this book but I guess it’s because the plot is/was very addictive Lol Suspense: 3.5/5 Dark(?): No :) No Spoilers.
I’m still fairly new to this author, and the writing of this is so good! I was pulled right into her writing immediately. I’m really looking forward to reading more books cause I love how there’s so much depth in this book, and love the fact that this author isn’t afraid of drawing out emotions with the characters & with the reader. And with a really enjoyable HEA. Seriously Well Done.
Audiobook Review: Overall: 4-4.5/5, Listing as 4. Story: 4-4.5/5 Performance: 4-4.5/5 Narrator: Elena Wolfe & Stephen Dexter
I’ve never listened to a book narrated by Stephen Dexter before, and good gracious where the heck have I been?! This man has a gorgeous voice! And will immediately be listening to more books narrated by him, he did a great job narrating Cameron and everyone else in his POV. Elena Wolfe is one of my favorite narrators. Without looking at who were narrating this, when I immediately heard Ashley’s POV I KNEW immediately who was narrating cause her voice is so identifiable and it was so easy to listen to her and I did enjoy her narration of other characters as well :)
I really wanted to love this book - given the high ratings it's already received - but in the end, I couldn't get beyond "It's... Ok.." This is my second book by the author. I found her writing style in both books to be... like someone who is inexperienced in writing. She has he ideas, but the execution of those ideas are ineffectual. For eg: “His jaw clenches in anger and his eyes flicker with anger.” Seriously?! This book had too many characters, many who didn't add anything to the story: Ashley's dad suddenly appears only for the wedding, Cameron's mom who wasn't mentioned again after her scene with Ashley, whatever happened to the patient "Peter"? Did he die?? All the interns who suddenly seized to exist (Did Amber stay with the guard?) Other things that irritated me: the entire working at the bar/brothel part of the story - just too much. Joshua being called "josh" or "Stan". Sometimes I got confused thinking that they were all different characters. Why couldn't he have just one name? What happened to the other house Gloria left Ashley? This line: “I want you to want to please me and give me what I need.” when the hero wants anal sex. Wtf?? One star less just for that line. Yeah. So while the author may have a story, she didn't do a very good job in telling it. It could have been a lot better (imo)
I read this via Audible. Long book, long review. First, let me say that T.L. Swan is rather hit or miss for me (its a content thing not a writing thing, the author has considerable talent), but at 18+hrs this book seemed a good value for the credit so I gave it a shot. I am definitely going to be the minority opinion here. If it were not for the 2 narrators being 2 of my faves I would have DNF'd this book set & here's why:
*****SPOILERS*****
[MMC is a selfish, controlling, and mean playboy who acts against his established intellect level.]
MMC: tells family/friends he loves MFC Also MMC: goes to a gentlemen's club (hereafter GC), flirts with hospital staff, hits up his long-term f*ck buddy, throws & breaks a wine glass & discards MFC when she tells him she's a mother, says his kink is bdsm but he's actually a sadist (causes real pain without consent tho MFC seems to grow to like it throughout the book, irregardless of desire, no safe word or after care), issues relationship ultimatums to MFC, is SO very quick to believe the worst of the person he supposedly loves and too eager to take her custody away
MMC: doesn’t give MFC his name & lies about his home/work Also MMC: loses his sh*t when MFC doesn’t tell him she's a mom in the 1 week she knows him after bumping into him 5yrs after their 1 time hookup where she knows he lied to her
MMC: says he doesn't want to be a dad Also MMC: tries to lay down the law about what will happen w/HIS kid-- last name, schooling, visitation, etc-- all while never having even met the kid
MMC: tells MFC he will give up his GC membership if she quits her job Also MMC: doesn’t give up his membership after MFC quits the GC
[MFC is a short-sighted, weak, slight gold-digger that acts against her established intellect level.]
MFC: my son is my life & comes 1st always Also MFC: quits 1 job bc guy she's known less than a month tells her to, and jeopardizes the other job by dating MMC; and, does all of this while fully knowing MMC hates & doesn't want kids; then goes back to the job & even hangs our with coworkers just to piss off MMC after being threatened by MMC (obviously alluding to custody which she somehow, a smart doctor, doesn’t glean)
MFC: literally says she isn't weak, more than once Also MFC: falls in love immediately with a guy who treats her terribly & hates her child "bc he is so hot" and continues to pine after him when he dumps her and then continues trying to control her; allows him to wear her down pushing his own way to the point she doesn't "sweat the small stuff anymore"
MFC: says she is "not that kind of girl" about working at the GC and would only work there to tend bar if even could work there Also MFC: immediately gets talked into the job by Eliza & then pressured into being "that kind of girl"
MFC: sees MMC attending GC while they are dating, hears him bully her into quitting a job, watches him purposely flirt with others in front of her, hears him tear into her unreasonably for being late, sees him lose his sh*t over finding out she's a mom, watches him punch his windshield bc she refuses to leave her work at his demand, sees him try to control her life in many ways and even with threats Also MFC: thinks "but he really is a good guy" and "I miss his laugh" and "why can't we just work on things"
MFC: sees MMC big house and says material things are actually pretty awful Also MFC: puts up with bad behavior from MMC, and lies to him because "she now knows the full extent of what she'd be giving up" by telling him the truth
It's pretty hard to say which character is more detestable. MMC learned nothing, grew almost not at all (just gave up being a playboy), still got the girl in the end, and went right back to ordering everyone around and throwing temper tantrums. And the MFC shrank (became weak whiny & piny) and then grew right back to her starting position (mooning mindlessly over a guy).
Gloria, Natasha & Adrian, hell even Amber, are the only "good people" in the lot. They are well rounded and act as you would expect for how they are designed. If the author would've applied their obvious talent for writing towards the 2 main characters I would be rating this 5 stars instead. It's like they tried for a withering heights thing but in this book their "love" was ridiculous rather than redeeming. So, again I say, thank you to the narrators. Solely because of them I finished this book (even though it was a hate-read).
Also, the final 4hrs is an epilogue. And, honestly, I think the epilogue was the best part. Both MCs were acting normally and having normal flaws/issues or more idealized versions than story proper. It was sweet and spicy. Epilogue got me to bump story from 1 to 2 stars.
Dr. Stanton I read the first chapter of this book which was tacked on at the end of Mr. Garcia and found it amusing enough to pick up this set. I’m curious if the Dr. Stanton in this book is related to the Stanton in Stanton Adore, Stanton Unconditional and Stanton Completely.* Maybe I’ll have it figured it out by the time I reach the end.
Interestingly, Ashley finds herself applying for a job at the exclusive club where April got into so much trouble with Mr. Garcia. Ashley is a medical student with a young son. Her best friend, Jenna, moves to California with them. She strongly encourages Ashley to accept a position at the club, not only for the money but to "live a little.”
This story is full of conflict between Ashley and Cameron. They are separated for five years after their initial hook-up in Vegas and meet again by accident. They are both strong willed and stubborn so misunderstandings blow up into mountains from molehills. Cam pulls a shit move against her which alienates her to the point she will barely interact with him. He doesn’t grovel enough in my estimation but does begin to understand her point of view. There's a disagreement when Cameron is so angry that he smashes the windshield of his car with his fist. It seems that his hand is broken, swollen to the size of a football, and he refuses to have it x-rayed or looked at by a doctor. The man’s a surgeon. His hands are essential. Nothing further is said about this injury even though it would be beyond a big deal.
The only reference made about his upbringing is that he has an Australian accent. How did so many of his family end up in America? What’s the friendship history with Adrian?
Cameron - “You see, I’m your Dad, Owen.” He frowns and I can see the information swirling around in his little head. “But I already have a dad,” he says. “I know. You have two dads." He frowns and looks over to Ashley, and then back to me. “My other dad’s just busy, that’s all. He’s coming back.” Do they ever clarify this misunderstanding for Owen?
Andrew’s mother is supposedly dying and requests to see Ashley and Owen. She manages to buy all the ingredients for Ashley to prepare her dinner, drugs her, turns the ringer off her phone and act innocent. Doesn’t sound like she’s on death’s door to me.
*The answer is yes. The other Stanton books are about Cameron’s brother Joshua. There’s also a fourth titled Stanton Bliss. Not only that but since there are two other Stanton brothers who knows what may be written in the future? There’s also a best friend, Adrian, whose love life could be explored.
Dr. Stantons The story backtracks to Cameron deciding to propose to Ashley and the subsequent search for a perfect engagement ring. Once that’s procured he wracks his brain as to where best to propose to her. Much of this is addressed at the end of the first book.
Ashley is named as the sole benefactor of Gloria’s will (the hospitalized women she had read Jane Austin to) One of the inherited homes is in decrepit condition but Ashley wants to perform a “do-it-yourself” reno. Reality has no bearing on this aspiration. She won’t even consent to hiring a crew to do the work, other than a plumber to install bathrooms. Anyone who’s ever watched reality television knows how well these amateur projects turn out. It’s more than a little ridiculous. Oh, and she also wants their wedding to be held at this location.
Once married she finally succumbs to Cam’s continual harassment for anal sex and he “silently thanks me for letting him have what he needed.” I call bullshit. He didn’t “need” anal sex. He just wanted to assert his dominance over her. Their violent sex was followed by “tender”moments. Yeah, right.

Meet-cute: Vegas. Bar. Ashley is being harassed by a man incessantly and when she sees a guy nearby she pretends he's her husband. He plays along and soon enough he's betting she'll be enjoying "married sex" before the night is over. It doesn't hurt that he's gorgeous, has an Australian accent, and she's really attracted to him. They have a night of mind-blowing sex and when morning comes, he asks for her phone number and says he'll meet her back in NYC for a wonderful weekend together. In true romance novel fashion, he loses his phone and can't call her. He goes to NYC anyway and even posts an ad in the classifieds to see if he can find her. The trouble is they never exchanged names. They never got to meet that weekend, but he's left smitten by his "Vegas wife".
Fast-forward to six years later and Ashley moves to LA for internship. She managed to finish medical school and got a placement under a prestigious cardiologist. She hasn't had it easy in the last 6 years: she had a kid, got engaged, finished school. The last thing she needed was to get to the hospital and find out that Dr.Stanton is her "Vegas husband".
There are so many things that muck up their way to an HEA: Cameron is an arrogant AF, Ashley is the queen of bad decisions... you name it.
Part 2 is a whole book of epilogues. It starts with Cameron trying to propose to Ashley and his plans seem to never come to fruition. Anything else I say here will be a major spoiler for book 1 (the proposal already kinda is), after all it's one huge epilogue.
I'm not sure about this book. I love TL Swan (Tristan Miles is the love of my bookish life) but this didn't sit well with me. It's obviously well-written, but I am going to show my age here: I wanted to slap both Cameron and Ashley silly. I thought Cameron was (most of the time) an entitled, arrogant, alpha-hole and I'm too old to find that kind of man "endearing". As for Ashley, for a mother and a freaking doctor, she is the queen of poor judgement. Seriously, these two are doctors, old enough not to act like petulant children. I won't even go into the miscommunication (this trope is not a problem for me) and the mistrust...
Also, Cameron does something (egged on by his brother Joshua, who is supposed to be another swoony hero) that I find unforgivable. He backpedals in the middle of it, but he DID take those actions. Not cool.
And, not "kink" shaming here, but if you have a pretty sexually adventurous wife who is scared shitless of doing something in bed, cool your jets, man. Don't go caveman and "exert your rights". She does end up getting on board with it, but the way he talks to her (I WANT this and I WILL get it) bugged the crap out of me. Nope.
Towards the end of the epilogue book, I warmed more towards Cameron (especially the last chapter). The 10-year flash forward finally showed me a Cameron I liked.
All in all, this was just ok for me. I didn't really need to be two books and a "book of epilogues" felt silly to me. I had high hopes for a TL Swan hero. After all, she wrote Tristan.
Narration: this is an 18-hour-long whopper and thank God it was Elena Wolfe (yeah, you know who she is) and Stephen Dexter...
Life is messy, sh.....t happens and things don't always go as planned. It's how we deal with what life throws at us that makes us who we are.
I like this author because she writes about characters who have careers that get caught up in the ups and downs of real life. Relationships, friendships, sexual attraction/kinks, misunderstandings, missed opportunities/ trust issues are examined in a fictional setting with we the reader being able to go on this journey with the characters. This story was unpredictable and heartfelt with characters that struggled with their actions, their missteps that resulted in doing things that hurt one another in this story, instead of forging the bond they both wanted and desired.
Cameron was a stand up guy who felt a special connection with Ashley while in LV. The loss of his phone and his trip to New York in hopes of finding her was a bust until five years later when she ends up as one of his interns in L.A. He's rich but devoted as a Cardiac Surgeon and is devastated when he finds out after reconnecting with Ashley that they have a child together. So many emotions/misunderstandings are brought to the surface in this story because these two characters are head strong and stubborn unwilling to meet each other half way until later in the book. Their relationship went from having rekindled their love for one another to a game of blame and finger pointing w/o truly understanding what was motivating the other person's actions. The story is told by each character's point of view uncovering their flaws layer by layer while pointing out their qualities which are constantly colliding with one another. Their sexual relationship is off the charts and is full of sexual banter and cheeky dialogue making this a great bedroom read.
Ashley's is a devoted mother and doctor that has trouble forgiving Cameron for his misdeeds until she examines the role that she played in those decisions. She did some stupid things such as getting a p/t job at a sex club that caused so many problems between she and Cameron until she finally realizes how she was getting reeled in by said club to do more and more besides being a bartender.
Their were many sub-characters that added to the story rounding out the playing field to make this a great love story. I like how this author takes the hero and gives him a group of friends or family who are playful, supportive and off the charts when it comes to sexual banter and dialogue. I love seeing men having friends in a story. Women always seek out other females but men can be loaners when it comes to the people they are close too.
The characters start to rebuild their relationship after they are willing to forgive each other and become friends first and lovers second. It was a great read with good strong characters in their own right who find their HEA. I loved the extended version of the epilogue which made my heart flutter with happiness when it rounded out Cameron's and Ashley's future together.
I was really enjoying it. I loved their banter and I found them just so funny together, but lord on a fucking stick does Ashley get very annoying the further you get in.
He gets more insufferable and she’s get more annoying.
I just have so many issues.
Who doesn’t tell the man that she had a one night stand with five years ago that she birthed his son? Who continues a relationship with him for weeks without saying something?
That’s truly fucked. I know she had her reasons but lying by omission is still lying.
He’s just a plain old dick. Demanding, rude, on a certified power trip. Permanent silver spoon inserted into his soft palate.
She does what she needs to survive and takes a job at a gentleman’s club, but is hot and cold the whole time. Quits multiple times, causes scenes in the club, gets drunk on the job, is plain old rude to her boss. How they didn’t fire her, I truly don’t know.
Oh wait, I do. She’s hot. That’s literally the whole reason she got the job. No real conversation, just oh I want you to bang my rich clientele please oh one hot girl in the entire universe.
Then out of fucking no where, he tells her he’s into BDSM. Out of no where. It is not mentioned again for ages, then he ties her up once. Then it’s never mentioned again.
I understand his reasoning to a degree, but taking her to court to force her hand? Fucked. Truly fucked.
Putting on paper that she’s prostituting herself which could mean that she won’t be able to become a doctor.
AND SHE GOES BACK TO HIM.
If someone almost ruined my career, almost took my son from me, and told the whole world that I was working to provide for my son in a bar/strip club/brothel, I’d never see them again. I’d do anything I could to never be near them again, because that person does not love you.
I finished the book but the epilogue was just so annoying, I couldn’t continue.
I keep reading these fucking independently published romance novels thinking they are going to be good and they disappoint me every time.
There’s just so much shit thrown in, like bits and bobs of random shit and then never mentioned again.
Page filler is not a fucking thing. If you can’t develop a storyline effectively, then don’t write a fucking book. Ugh

Cameron is drop dead gorgeous and as sexy as sin! I did love his line "Ashley Tucker, my nightly f*c#ker" his dirt talking his kinks but ... I have lived with alphas all my life, but jealous spoilt brats who are bullies on top of it ... well he would have had the heave ho from day one!
Ashley although independent, I found irritating and irresponsible. Why all the angst? I understood it to a certain extent but really, it caused more heartache and problems that it needed to making the book far too long!
So far as the drug related incident, well what can I say but that this was dealt with poorly. If he was as possessive and the brilliant surgeon he was meant to be; and she the intern, why wasn't there a full investigation, or at the very least find out what the drug was?!
After this and so many miscommunications between the two MCs, I'm not surprised that Cameron took matters into his own hands, but having said this, if it was me it was unforgiveable and no matter how gorgeous he is supposed to be, he wouldn't have seen me for dust!
As for the scene on their wedding night, does the author really believe that it is ok for a husband to take what he wants because he is married. This is seriously the wrong message to be giving out that wives or partners deserve no respect or honor once married and the fact that he says once he starts, there's no stopping?!
As for the epilogues, I appreciate that the two books (audio) have been combined and IMO they shouldn't have been. This made for an extremely and unnecessarily long book. After 16 hours I was losing the will to live and felt the only thing left to write was their obituary!
So far as narration was concerned, Elena is always superb but Stephen, although very good for Murphy and Josh wasn't growly or sexy enough for Cameron.

I did like this book and also did like Cameron and Ashley
The things that I didn't love were
1) the giggling. Why can't female heroines just laugh why do they have to giggle? I have many friends who laugh don't giggle. When I read giggling it drives me crazy and lessens the character for me. This is such a personal pet peeve and not a majority opinion I know, but still. Argh!
2) Once Cam finds out the secret, Ashley is mad that he doesn't immediate step up and accept the secret. That's a bit unrealistic to think that he would be on board a nanosecond after finding out. And after he is still reeling from the truth she throws the emotional bomb of her feelings and again is mad that he's doesn't handle them with care when he's still upset
3) When Cameron jumps to conclusion about Ashley without actually communicating with her.
~How does the love of my life go from an angle to a drug-addicted stripper in two weeks?~
I literally rolled my eyes when I read that line.
4) The hypocrisy that he was upset she worked at a gentleman club but he was a member there.
5) When Cam breaks his hand as a surgeon this should have been a big deal but it was only an issue for one moment and forgotten
6) Her family is all happy in the epilogue but we never got to see them meet Cameron or resolve their past issues with Ashley.
What I did like:
1) Owen. He was precious and sweet
2) Ashley's friendship with her girlfriends.
3) Strong heroine minus the giggling and stubbornness
4) The chemistry between Cam and Ashley
5) Smart independent heroine.
6) The evolution of Cam once he falls in love from bachelor to loyal
;) Man mag ihn langsam.
I discovered T.L. Swan just over a year and a half ago and had to wait to read this novel. You see, I am a RARE person who actually LOVED Joshua & Natasha’s story. So much so that I couldn’t read Cameron’s story ANYTIME soon after because I didn’t want to love it less & not give it its own opinion and emotion not tainted by my God, Joshua as nobody can compare! I’ve heard from everyone just about how much better this book was than Stan’s and, even though I waited over a year to read, I disagree. F’ing get me wrong, I FREAKING LOVED THIS STORY!!! I think Ashley was THE perfect counterpart to Cameron. Their passion was explosive and hot AF! I mean wow, they s torched these pages as T.L. Swan does! No lack of heat at all! Maybe the spiciest read if hers ever. I mean day-um! Burning up here!! It was full of drama and passion. Growth and forgiveness. Vulnerability, humility, regret and salvation. It was simply? Amazing! Getting to see what done of the rest of the Stanton crew got up to over the years was a nice touch. Found out how many kids Tasha had, surprising news about Murphy’s love life (kinda just slipped in there as almost an aside)! and visits from the Senior Stanton’s. All in all an AMAZING ENDING TO A SERIES THAT WILL FOREVER HOLD A PLACE AS AN ALL TIME FAVORITE! Hands down on my re-read lust without question!
3 ⭐️ 3 in spice. This book had me fully engaged for like 50-60%, it had so much potential and then it went downhill.
One because it was a little slow at some parts and repetitive in others. If I have to hear "she /he screwed up her/his face" one more time...
And second because of the fmc and her tantrums, I hate when fmc:s have tantrums. Yes the mmc had his possesive outbursts too but without being childish. I don't mind fmc:s standing their ground or even being a bit unfair about it (I mean it's human) but when they are childish and can't handle consequences of their own choices and just constantly expects everyone else to look past their bs....so not the vibe.
I enjoyed the workplace setting and plots both at the hospital and the club. The side characters were great and the banter was mostly funny and good. The elevator game was hilarious!
But this book is too long and again the tantrums! I almost dnf:ed everytime she had one.
Also please american narrators do better accents and pronounciations of different languages or don't do them at all. It's litteraly your job to be better at it than the average american (I'm European and can really hear how bad it is). The narrators for this audio are not worse than others, it's just a very common cringy occurance with american narrators.
First of all I loved this book so very much I don’t think my review will do it justice! TL Swan writes these magnificent stories with a gorgeous male character and a strong beautiful woman. I listened to this book on Audible with Elena Wolfe as the female narrator and a great male narrator who pulled off Cameron’s Aussie accent perfectly. When they first met at a bar, I just fell in love with them right away, and when they were making love how they would speak to each other in French and in German, it was so romantic ! This is such a well detailed storyline. It has so much layers to the storyline that everything about it was perfectly written perfectly narrated you could feel the emotions.. by chance, they meet again five years later and oh my gosh, what are the chances of that happening to them? It was so mind blowing! And of course they are still attracted to each other and after their first meeting he never gave up trying to find her again. He is a billionaire heart surgeon and all the ladies swoon for him. I’m skipping a lot of this book but one thing is for sure and that is that Dr. Stanto is The best book by Swan! It’s such a must read or especially listen!! I truly fell in love with this steamy, funny and romantic book!
Well - I'm still not sure whether I really like Ashley and Cameron's story...
This is my third read-through, and I still dislike Ashley, intensely. Cameron is sort of irresistible, but Ashley earned my disdain for not coming clean right away to Cam about Owen. I am adopted -- I know the value of knowing your real birth parents. Nothing gave her the right to prejudge Cameron's fitness as a dad by assuming she KNEW him on the few facts she actually had about him. So, it didn't matter how much she loved him and Owen, or that she was a good mother. I cannot get past her lies. They were truly hurtful.
Yet, I went and reread the books two more times after I got highly annoyed at Ashley getting her man and family as well as a great life. What does that tell you about the genius of T. L. Swan, that she worked me up to such great heights of irritation? Good storyline, for sure, and spicy intimate scenes. Just unrealistic moral judgement(s) where her characters are concerned. So, I give the overall Dr. and Drs. Stanton books a three and a half stars.
I wanted to like this, but the book was pushing in so many different directions. Is the h a strong sexy independent woman for working at a club w strippers and prostitution (it's sexy, so what?) Or is she shaming her son's future and being foolishly drawn to the dark side by refusing to bow to H's orders? I didn't think the kink was written w the right balance. I understood it was consensual but the sex seemed really uncomfortable w all the trouble it was to get his big ass penis to fit. Also she's sorta into being under his control but they don't even agree on a safe word and they barely know each other so the whole 'SandM being hot because it gives you a chance to explore w complete trust in someone in a safe space' isn't there. 2.4/5 for this one, but also lowered bc I expect and usually get a lot more from this author.
What can I say about this box set? Well let’s just start with how absolutely yummy Cameron Stanton is, if you have read any of TL Swans Stanton series you know Cameron, you love this cocky playboy, and if you haven’t read that series, what on earth are you waiting for??
We all know the saying “what happens in Vegas…” Well this roller coaster of emotion has definitely thrown Cameron for a loop.
This is TL Swan at her best for sure, the angst, the emotion, the heat, oh boy the heat! There are some points where you are going to want to tell our sweet sexy Cameron to get over himself but our guy does eventually figure out what is really important.
This is a great duet that really should not be missed!!
This had potential, but good effing heavens I could not get past the gross, skin-scrawling, unhealthy male toxicity in the main male character. And that first bondage scene? Hold the eff up… no safe word? That wasn’t bondage or BDSM, that was utter shite. The epilogue and anal sex scene? Gross and bordering on NC. Folks, just cuz you’re married or in a LTR, does not give your partner the “right” to your body.
The way he manipulates the main female character? If she were my best friend, I’d be staging an intervention and finding a safe place for her to be.
Both characters need massive amounts of therapy to fix their issues, not massive amounts of sex.
Unless you want to get mad and feel skeevy all over, don’t read this book.
I’ve read most of TLS’s books and this is one of my favourites by far. Natasha is a confident, likeable and mostly no nonsense character and Cameron is rather swoon worthy with a real cheeky side. These guys are hot, hot, hot together but you will need your tissues on the ready as there are some emotional moments in their journey. All I can say is Dr Stanton is lucky Natasha loves him so much because while she makes mistakes, he makes some heart breaking decisions early on that I would say would be unforgivable to some. Despite this these guys are my favourite couple. I would also say it’s worth reading the Stanton series first as it introduces you to a lot of the characters, which brings all characters alive to you.
I loved this book. It was so amazing that I couldn't put it down. The story draws you in, and by the end, you just have to keep reading. The emotions of sadness and happiness I felt were incredible. This book even made me cry, which rarely happens when I'm reading. I was surprised because I had previously started another book by this author, "The Italian," but I didn't finish it because it was too slow. However, this book had me hooked from the very beginning. -Review for "Dr. Stanton" This book was a better sequel than the first one. Thank you T.L.Swan very much because I wasn't finished with Cameron and Ashley. They dominated all the scenes in this book as well as in the first book. - Review for "Dr. Stanton: Epilogue"
....you made me smile big time! I loved Ashley, she's a strong kick-ass mum and think she's pure awesome!
Throughout the Stanton books, Cameron has been there and I loved the playful funny fun-loving smart playboy! But I have to say, there's a part in this book that totally broke my heart and it was his fault, his pure power-hungry rich ass that caused it. I was so angry, so appalled and so heartbroken that I actually shed a tear for Ashley!! I did understand it but I didn't like it, but then again - a books no fun if there's no drama!!!
Really enjoyed it and I can't wait for Adrian's story!!!!!
