I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Her Gentleman Pirate by Tamara Gill
This book was so amazing, i adored the hero and heroine and their love and chemistry.
A Reversal of Fortune by Rose Pearson
I love Rose Pearson and I usually enjoy her books, but this story and characters did not please me very much, but it was a cute story.
Prince of Rogues by Angelique Armae
This story was really cool and funny, the characters are really fun and their love story was very pleasant to read, I loved how the ending happened and for not having been the conventional in romance novels.
A Marquess for Convenience by Biance Blythe
What a cute story, I loved it, I loved it. The hero is so cute and beautiful with his beloved and so sympathetic with her even being hurt with her by false assumptions that happened in the past, and she is also very easy to like, her personality is determined but lovely too.
Act of Pardon by Sandra Sookoo
I really didn't liked that story, sorry.
Sinful Deeds by Samantha Holt
A very beautiful story. In this brilliant book by Samantha Holt, two lovers learn to be the best they can with each other and with themselves. The most emotional of the collection for me. You're going to love this tale.
The Scottish Governess by Arietta Richmond
a simple, short read.
The Duke's House Party Match by Kelly Anne Bruce
A good romance about two people who fall in love during a party at the hero's house, they have very different social positions and he is already betrothed. And now, how will they solve this and have their happily ever after?
To Capture Love by Shereen Vedam
A very sweet and relaxing love story in which our hero learns to be happy again and falls in love after the loss of his brother. These stories were very good to read, I recommend to those who love light tales of love

This is a wonderful collection of stories from some very well known and loved authors.
Sinful deeds by Samantha Holt
Josephine Beaumont had decided to finish being the mistress of Lord Dante Cynfell for a number of reason but mainly because she wanted more for herself. She was a talented artist and wanted to explore how far she could go in this field. Although, Dante and Josephine had very strong feelings for each other, he had no interest in getting married. This was quite an emotional read and I loved the way Dante tried to change his ways. I have read all the books in this series and thoroughly enjoyed them.
Her Gentleman Pirate by Tamara Gill
This was a fun read. Arabella was feisty and stubborn. Captain Stephen Blackmore was a scoundrel and a tease but he did have reasons for his actions. Their encounters were amusing and later very passionate. Although they had deep feelings for each other, Arabella was betrothed to a Viscount. However, all was not as it seemed. This was a very entertaining read.
A Marquess for Convenience, Bianca Blythe
This has to be my favourite of this series. The action was fast paced, exciting and immediate, there wasn't any reading through several chapters before the action took place. I liked that Madeline was a strong character and had a good sense of justice and loyalty to her friends. This book also highlights how difficult it was for women to be accepted as equals in this male dominated world. Arthur was also endearing and proved his worth in many ways.
The Scottish governess by Arietta Richmond
Constance Leslie was a hardworking woman who was determined to take a lower position to provide for herself and her mother in law. She was well educated and able to stand up for herself. Constance found a position as a maid in the household of Peregrine Stapleton, Earl of Blackwood. Perry, was an unusual lord for the time, in that he had a friendly rapport with his butler. His daughters, however, were spoilt and uncaring in their attitudes. This was an enjoyable story of how Constance’s influence in the household had an effect on the daughters and the earl. Also the effect the earl had on Constance!
Act of Pardon by Sandra Sookoo
This was one of my favourite stories in the book. It moved along at a good pace and had plenty of action. Sarah Covington was looking for revenge but she also wanted independence, having had when life ruled by the men in her life. Captain Adrian Westerbrooke was very much the alpha male at times and Sarah tested him to his limit. I did enjoy their relationship, which was very passionate but they also had meaningful conversations. I’m going to read the follow up book to this story!
The Duke’s House Party Match by Kelly Anne Bruce
This was a sweet romance that included manipulative mothers and a would be fiancée .
To Capture Love by Shereen Vedam
This was a short but enjoyable story about a lady with an unusual talent and a grieving ex-soldier. This is also a sweet romance.
There is a mix of 4 and 5 stars stories but all were very enjoyable and engaging. I received a copy via Booksprout and have voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Something for every romance loving reader.

Don't be deceived by the title, this boxed set is a dukes mixture of romances. Each story stands alone and each has a happy ending. Any reader is sure to find one that is enjoyable.

It is difficult to review a boxed set with nine books as I would a single story. Following is a thumbnail review of each and a star rating for each.

#1 – Gentleman Pirate by Tamara Gill – 3 Stars – The predictable story was okay, as were the characters. Contains language and sex that could be offensive.

#2 – A Reversal of Fortune by Rose Pearson – 5 stars – The story was sweet and clean with lovable characters.

#3 – Prince of Rogues by Angelique Armae – 4 stars – Good story and characters. Contains language and sex that could be offensive.

#4 – A Marquess for Convenience by Bianca Blythe – 3 stars – A good story that is clean with okay characters

#5 – Act of Pardon by Sandra Sookoo – 3 stars – A good swashbuckling story with okay characters. Contains quite a bit of vulgar language and sex that could be offensive.

#6 – Sinful Deeds by Samantha Holt – 5 stars – A great story with wonderful characters. This story does contain some mildly descriptive intimacies.

#7 – Scottish Governess by Arietta Richmond – 4 stars – A sweet story with likable characters. Contains some descriptive intimacies.

#8 – The Duke's House Party by Kelly Anne Bruce – 4 stars – A clean and sweet story and likable characters. Pace is a bit slow.

#9 – To Capture Love by Shereen Vedam – 5 stars – A wonderful sweet and clean story with very likable characters.

This set is certainly a good way to read your favorite author or get acquainted with one you've yet to read.

Happy Reading

Disclosure: I received an ARC of this book set from the author. I am voluntarily submitting my honest review.

Act of Pardon by Sandra Sookoo

A Marquess for Convenience by Biance Blythe
Unlike most bluestockings, Lady Madeline Mulbourne is quite content for the ton to dismiss her as a widowed baroness and renowned hostess of society parties. No need for anyone to know that her flighty manner disguises an encyclopaedic knowledge of art, and a dangerous secret.
Lord Arthur Carmichael, Marquis of Bancroft, has carefully cultivated a wild reputation. What could be a more perfect cover for the spy missions he undertook for the Crown? Unfortunately now that the war has ended, his reputation could keep him from settling into a cabinet position that is unless he takes a wife. Before Arthur can embark on the dreaded wedding quest, he must complete one last mission: catch a thief who’s stolen four of five priceless pieces of jewellery that once belonged to the Italian family Costatini. Whom should he encounter on the French Riviera but Lady Mulbourne.
Arthur & Madeline fell in love years ago but each thought the other didn’t care, so Arthur walked away, now their paths have crossed again. A well written easy reading book of second chances, as well as romance there’s the thefts, arrests & abduction. The pace of the story is good & kept me reading. The characterisation is good, both Arthur & Madeline are very likeable. This is the fifth book in the series but could be a stand alone book, we do catch up with some of the characters from earlier books but they add to the story. I also enjoyed that part of the story took place in France & Italy. Another very enjoyable book in the series & I look forward to more

Prince of Rogues by Angelique Armae

A Reversal of Fortune by Rose Pearson

The Scottish Governess by Arietta Richmond

Her Gentleman Pirate by Tamara Gill

The Duke's House Party Match by Kelly Anne Bruce

To Capture Love by Shereen Vedam

Sinful Deeds by Samantha Holt
Lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy and pride. The Cynfell brothers are the very embodiment of a sinful existence. But could the right woman change that?
Envy
Josephine Beaumont a widow had been the mistress of one of the most notorious rakes in London, Dante Cynfell. She loved Dante Cynfell to distraction, he provided her with a comfortable home and all the art supplies she could ever need. However Josephine has had enough of tolerating his drunken behaviour and late night calls. Her paintings have caught the eye of a Robert Allen a great patron of the arts plus she wants true love, marriage, and respectability.
When Josephine ends their arrangement, Dante is shocked & doesn’t really believe her so is doubly shocked when she moves out of the house. Positive he can win her back, he sets out to remind her how good they are together, things don’t go smoothly & his jealousy doesn’t help either.
Another short but page turning book which I read in two sessions & was loathe to put it down. Dante is against marriage after witnessing his parents’ union but he loves Josephine & enlists his brother Julian’s help to win her. Josephine is a strong woman who is also an extremely talented artist. Their road to an HEA isn’t smooth but it is entertaining.
Another lovely anthology, whilst some of the novellas have been released before I was introduced to some new authors. Past experience has shown that these multi author books are an ideal way to find new authors, they also keep me happily engrossed for a couple of weeks. I tend to read a novella on an evening knowing that I will get some sleep! So far I’ve only read a couple of the books but will update my review as I read the others
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

For now my review is only for Sinful Deeds by Samantha Holt as I received this ARC from her, but I'll come back and read the rest when I'm more caught up on ARC commitments. If this story was any indication, this is a great collection.

Widow Josephine Beaumont loved Lord Dante Cynfell enough to believe she was strong enough to handle being his mistress only. He provides her with a home and supplies for her art and it's a good arrangement for the destitute widow. But rakes are tricky and now after four years of late night calls from a drunken Dante, Jo has had it. She's found a patron for her paintings and now craves love and respectability. Dante is shocked when Jo ends their attachment, but he'll never marry; he's seen how marriage can destroy a relationship and so now it seems he can no longer give Jo what she needs.
But Dante won't step away so easily and sets out to show Josephine just how good they are together and he won't give up until he wins her back.

Despite the fact that this plot involved the separation of the main characters, a device I typically loathe, it worked here. Both main characters needed to work on themselves a bit and it was clear the entire time that they were choosing each other and working their way back to each other. This was a quick and enjoyable read from a strong collection.

I have read 3 books of this 9 book collection and I really enjoyed them. I can not wait to read the rest. This collection of books is a deal at this price.
Here is a review on the 3 books I read so far:

Her Gentleman Pirate by Tamara Gill is a nice story about Arabella and Stephen. Stephen is a pirate who kidnaps Arabella for a debit he is owed from her father. From there the chemistry between the two grows. You can not go wrong with a Tamara Gill book.

Sinful Deeds by Samantha Holt is a story about Dante and Josephine who are in a relationship, but Dante could be so dense/confused what a woman really wants. Josephine wants more than he can give her so she ends things. Dante will try everything he can think of to get her back. This story was a nice and I really enjoyed it. I have always liked Samantha Holt’s writing style.

Prince of Rogues by Angelique Armae is a story about Alex and Kitty (Catherine). Alex is a Prince and knows he loves and adores Kitty. As stated in the book – Kitty is his weakness. Kitty loves Alex and always calls him her Prince. There is more than just love in this book, there is a mystery to solve. This is the first book I have read by Angelique Armae and I really enjoyed it. I am going to look into reading the rest of her books.

Great books in this collection! My review is initially for Her Gentleman Pirate by Tamara Gill which is the first book in this collection.

Lady Arabella is kidnapped and taken aboard a ship from Malta to England. Her father owes the Captain money and so now she is being used in order to get the money they are owed. The “captain” is trying to get enough money to repair his ancestral home which he has worked hard to buy back after his grandfather gambled everything away years ago.

This books does not disappoint as far as story, characters, chemistry, romance, and steaminess but is short which is understandable as it is a part of a collection.

As far as the rest of the collection I know that the Samantha Holt Sinful/Cynfell book are great. 👍🏻👍🏻 I also have enjoyed books written by Bianca Blythe. Overall you can’t go wrong with the purchase of this collection for $0.99.

I will update my review as I read further through the collection.

My review is for Her Gentleman Pirate by Tamara Gill. If the rest of the book is any thing like Tamara’s story this sis one heck of a book and I can’t wait to read the rest. This story kind of warmed my heart as our hero and heroine go from enemies to lovers. The attraction is there from the start. This regency pirate book is wonderful with it’s details to history and gives you a visual details as you read. This story has a kidnapping, kindness, punishments, stubbornness, a debt owed, seduction, an unwanted betrothal, a need for adventure and yes love. I highly recommend you read this book.

A really entertaining mix of different style regency era stories. Although I enjoyed them all my favourite had to be Prince of Rogues by Angelique Armae, a new author to me and set not in England but in a fictional European principality. I hope to read more from that series.. All of the stories were well worth reading

This is a romantic and entertaining collection of stories. The characters are likable, passionate and interesting. Each story is different, but love is the element that connects them. A few of these authors are new to me, they I read, and I enjoyed reading all of them.

Rogues Like It Hot is a collection of 9 books by various romance authors.
Her Gentleman Pirate by Tamara Gill
I have always enjoyed Ms. Gill’s work. Lady Arabella Hester’s father owes a wicked pirate a debt. Until the debt is paid her future is uncertain. Captain Stephen Blackmore is a rogue and more than happy to ruin innocent Arabella. I liked this story. “Their gazes locked and her mouth dried. His intense stare sizzled the space separating them and under no circumstance could she shift her attention elsewhere. From the short distance between them he took in her every feature. His inspection left little to the imagination. Heat bloomed up her neck and she turned to look out over the ocean. He was a rogue through and through….” I found a few places that bordered on the ridiculous: ie: Arabella’s father jumping from one ship to another...not likely. But on the whole, it is a well written story with quite a number of steamy scenes. I would give this one 4 stars.
A Reversal of Fortune by Rose Pearson
Penelope Jameson is fleeing an abusive home life when she is rescued on the road by The Duke of Derhamshire. Ms. Pearson has a definite talent for bringing her scenes to life. “She heard muffled voices, hooves on the cobblestones of the street, wooden wheels clacking along, random bird sounds, and distant bells and whistles which she assumed floated on the air from the river and docks.” You can smell the sea air and hear the horse pulling carts. She transports you to another era. I liked the heroine Penelope. I thought her actions were consistent throughout the story. I had a hard time understanding the Duke. He is painted as a rogue early on, but there are no real signs of that throughout the story. However he is quite swoon worthy. I have several of Pearson’s books on my TBR list and so I look forward to reading more from her. I would give this book 4 stars.
Prince of Rogues by Angelique Armae
This story is set during the Regency Era, but it is not set in England, but rather a made up kingdom called Countavia. This story was okay ...not really my cup of tea. I grow weary of heroines who demand equality in a time where women were not viewed that way at all. It just feels too modern. The premise of a woman wanting to join a group of assassins was just not plausible. And I’m not sure who the Rogue was in this tale. I did enjoy the brothers relationship with one another. 3 stars for this one.
A Marquess for Convenience by Bianca Blythe
A Marquess for Convenience is actually book 5 in the Matchmaking for Wallflowers series by Blythe. I read this story in 2017 and loved it. Ms Blythe is a fantastic writer. The story has so many layers. I laughed out loud and woke up my poor husband in the middle of the night since I couldn't put the book down. If you love Regency romance this is a definite must read. 5 stars
Act of Pardon by Sandra Sookoo
Act of Pardon is a swashbuckling romance set on a pirate ship called The Lady Catherine. I enjoyed this story and the character of Captain Adrian Westerbrooke. “Their gazes locked. For the space of a few heartbeats she remained frozen in place, lost in his intensity. Stormy as an angry Atlantic, his eyes seemed to see into her soul, recognize her intentions and her hatred, and then just as surely, he dismissed her, a cold smile curling his lips. Cruelty flowed from him. Coupled with ire embodied by the stiff set of his broad shoulders as well as the hard set to his jaw and narrowed his eyes, he resembled the image of a god of rage.” When Sarah is taken captive by a band of pirates, she must find a way to survive. There is a lot of very steamy sex in this book. There are also quite a few thoughtful insights that I noted, for example: “But breaking didn’t mean failing; at times it meant a new beginning and finding strength.” I found Sookoo’s writing to be very very good. At times I couldn’t put the book down. A solid 5 stars.
Sinful Deeds by Samantha Holt
Sinful Deeds is actually book 2 in the Cynfell Brothers series by Holt. I really enjoyed this book. Dante Cynfell is a typical second brother in the peerage. He has nothing to do with his time but live solely for himself. His mistress Josephine Beaumont is weary of constantly feeling used. I thought this was a very unique storyline. I don’t think I have ever read a book about a mistress in Regency Era England. I enjoyed Josephine’s character. I would have to give this book a 5 star.
The Scottish Governess by Arietta Richmond
I enjoyed this book although its storyline is a bit far fetched. I loved the heroine Mrs. Constance Leslie. She is strong and yet kind, witty without being cutting. The hero Peregrine Stapleton, the Earl of Blackwood has been frozen in a state of grief for so long that he has neglected his three daughter’s upbringing. But once the fiery Constance comes on board his staff, his world is turned upside down. “His voice was thick, uncertain, but then his arms spoke decisively. He pulled her to him and she felt her breath, already struggling to stay within her, drawn out of her abruptly by the force of his kiss. She felt the roots tying her to the earth snap, and, grasping him as tightly as he gripped her, she returned the kiss with all of the hungry ardour of the months of sensual deprivation since George had gone to war.” I would give this one a four star.

The Duke’s House Party Match by Kelly Anne Bruce
This is a sweet clean romance. Sarah Payne is almost on the shelf at 23 and must find a husband. When she attends a house party, she meets the enchanting Duke of Amblingshire. But another has claimed him for herself. I loved the villain in this story. Lady Anna Bramlett is one of those wicked, conniving women that you love to hate. I thought that the story was good, but at times found myself skimming. I would give this one 3.5 stars.
To Capture Love by Shereen Vedam
This is a short and sweet novella. I enjoyed it. I felt that it’s storyline was very original. The new Earl of Ashford’s brother has been brutally killed in battle. The Earl, Major Robert Livingston seeks to immortalize his brother’s memory by engaging an artist to make a sculpture of him. But what he doesn’t know is that the artist is a beautiful woman hiding her identity. What happens when her secret is discovered? “He had intended to kiss her softly, reverently, in gratitude, but the moment his lips grazed hers, gratitude evaporated and desire flared. Her lips parted, perhaps in shock, but Robert didn’t care. No longer would he play second fiddle to his friends, her art, or to his absurd doubts about this wonderful woman.” This was a delightful short read. I would give it 5 stars.

I received a complimentary copy of this collection of books and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

This is a collection of stories from a variety of authors. Each story is independent of each other. The different tales are delightful and each can be enjoyed in a few hours.

I loved the dual POVs formats of the tales. It helps me to identify and connect to the character to understand them so much better.

I would highly recommend this collection to anyone over the age of 18.

In the first story HER GENTLEMAN PIRATE by Tamara Gill Lady Arabella Hester is kidnapped by Captain Stephen Blackmore. She is being held for ransom for the money that her father owes him. The Captain promises to return her safely when her father pays his debt. While in the care of the Captain Arabella falls in love with him and he with her. But when her father and betrothed arrives with the money she's forced to choose. This is a really good romance.
In The second story A REVERSAL OF FORTUNE Penelope has been taken in by a family when she was just 4 years old and has been treated worse than the lowest servant. Her daily life has been nothing but constant verbal and physical abuse. Until finally she can take no more and runs away running right into the path of Nathaniel Dellwood, the Duke of Derhamshire. From there she has a reversal of fortune. This is a really sweet romance. I think if you are a fan of Cinderella you will love this.
The third story PRINCE OF ROGUES is about Prince Alexander and Catherine better known as Kitty. In this story Catherine's brother has been murdered and she is determined to find his killer and bring him to justice. Unknown to her the Prince is the leader of the countries spy ring and assassin. This story is full of adventure and a wonderful romance. As Catherine teaches the Prince that she's much more than he thought.
In the story A MARQUESS FOR CONVENIENCE Madeline is a Baroness known as Lady Mulbourne. And Arthur is The Marquess of Bancroft. Arthur is trying to find out who a jewel thief is. Their lives become tangled during his investigation. This is a wonderful story.
In An Act of Pardon Sarah Covington goes to witness the hanging of the pirate Captain Westerbrooke who murdered her father and fiance. When things go horribly wrong she is caught up in the pirate's scheme. This story is full of adventure and romance.
In the story Sinful Deeds Dante Cynfell can't understand why his mistress ends their relationship. Josephine wants his love and marriage she tired of being his mistress. Dante isn't interested in marriage because of his parents marriage. But after she leaves him the more he realizes that he needs her back. This is a wonderful story about another Cynfell brothers romance. I found it very enjoyable. Hope we hear more from the Cynfell family. Great story with a HEA.
In the story THE SCOTTISH GOVERNESS Peregrine Stapleton, Fifth Earl of Blackwood, lost his wife five years ago, He has his hands full between advising the Crown Prince, the British government and three teenage daughters whom he has spoiled and allowed to get away with more than he should have. Mrs Constance Leslie former lady's companion and governess is reduced to working as an upstairs maid. The two discover each other but can see no way for them to be together other than for her to be his mistress. Which is something she can't see herself doing. This is a wonderful story of finding true love and having to find a way to be together. HEA
In the story THE DUKE’S HOUSE PARTY MATCH Sarah Elizabeth Payne is the daughter of a fabric merchant and is invited to a house party where she meets the Duke of Amblingshire. Having been informed by the daughter of her host that she expects to receive an offer of marriage from the duke Sarah tries to hold the Duke at a distance. Sometimes things are not all they appear.
This story has a lot of twist and turns and misunderstandings but does have a HEA.
In the last story TO CAPTURE LOVE it tells of the sorrows of losing someone to war. I like the fact the writer talks about how a man is affected not only by injuries received in war but the lost he feels of loosing someone close to him. It also tells the story of Pauline who is a great artist but when she's commissioned to comemenrate a war hero she has to hide the fact that she is a woman and pretend to be a man for her work to be accepted. During all of this she finds love with a HEA.

This is a 9-book collection of multi-author Regency and Victorian romances of varying heat levels. Below is a review of one of the wonderful stories you will find in this set.

*** Reviewing SINFUL DEEDS by Samantha Holt ***
Dante Cynfell, the second son of a marquess, was surprised at the strong slap across the face, as was the petite lady who slapped him. His mistress Josephine actually was a very gentle woman. She was beautiful, sweet, funny, kind, caring and clever and well-liked by society and his friends. He had come home tonight rather drunk but didn’t know what had upset her so much. Apparently she had warned him repeatedly about coming in so late and he had startled her. She had waited for him all evening, and now she began to cry. What was she lacking? He had rented the townhouse for her, gave her lovely furnishings, jewelry. All he had to do was show up when he wanted her company. What more could she want? He touched her and she didn’t move away from him. Even after 4 years they still wanted each other. And then he made the mistake of promising not to be late again, and she shoved him away – she wanted no more lies. And then she said the worst thing he ever wanted to hear. “I don’t wish to be your mistress anymore.” He decided he would give her a week to get over this impossible idea, then he would be back.

Josephine was sad, but she realized Dante would never change. And she needed more now; love, marriage. So starting today, she would be known as something more, no longer Josephine Beaumont, mistress, but J. Beaumont, renowned artist. If Mr. Allen, at the National Gallery, could be believed, that hope might not be so very false. She had sold a painting – that was what the celebration was to have been with Dante. But he hadn’t come home early, despite his promise.

Dante was quite upset when he saw Josephine had left him for real. No one knew where she went, but he passed her art room and walked to the place she bought her art supplies to see if they knew where she was. He tricked the owner into thinking he had some of her things to return, and was given her address. Then he wondered how she had paid for her art supplies and the new place she was living – or had she so quickly found another man to keep her? His jealousy turned to anger. He knocked on her door and asked how she afforded this place. She started to say she had sold… but he interrupted, assuming she sold the expensive jewelry he gave her. But she hadn’t and had left it in the safe. She also denied having a new man. She had always been his anchor – now he felt lost at sea. But he knew how people treated the poor and, when she found out firsthand how it was, she would come back to him. As he left, he expected her to run after him, but she did not. Would she ever come back to him? Would she settle for less than she knew she now needed, just to have him back? Or were they finally over and done with each other?

I really enjoyed this book. It was an easy read, with a smooth story line that was well-paced. The story was very realistic and the characters responded as expected. But it was intriguing to see the back-and-forth exchange between Dante and Josephine. They obviously cared for each other, but once she stood up for herself, she showed enormous strength of character. Dante wasn’t sure exactly what had gone wrong since everything went perfectly his way for four years. Would he learn how he hurt her that night? Would he keep trying to find out how to win her back? Grab your copy and enjoy! This is just one of many excellent stories about the rogues in our lives. You’ll most likely recognize a few of them!

1 – Gentleman Pirate by Tamara Gill – ~ I love Tamara Gill books this one not withstanding. There are some intimate scenes but not to an offensive degree. 4.5 stars
2 – A Reversal of Fortune by Rose Pearson - not my first time reading Rose Pearson. Like all of her titles I have read this one is a sweet/clean story. 4.25 stars
3 – Prince of Rogues by Angelique Armae – This author is new to me. The story occurs in a fictional kingdom and is pretty mild as far as steam goes. 3.75 stars
4 – A Marquess for Convenience by Bianca Blythe – This one I had read previously and reviewed.
Below is my original review of this book.
Just when I think Bianca Blythe couldn't possibly write a better book she surprises me with the next installment in this series. This is book #5 from Matchmaking For Wallflowers.
Madeline has been in love with Aurthur since she was a young debutante. Because of a misconception they are parted and she marries another.
Arthur thinks she has spurned him and proceeds to leave to spy for the crown.
Now the war is over and he finds himself with a new mission. He needs to locate and apprehend a jewel thief.
Because these stolen pieces are considered art he seeks the help of Madeline who he remembers to have an expertise in the field.
Madeline is now a widow, but the problem with Arthur's need for her assistance is that she happens to be the thief he is seeking.
Will Arthur catch his culprit and if he does what will he do about her?
I gave this book 4.5 stars.
5 – Act of Pardon by Sandra Sookoo – This is one of the steamier stories as is expected from this author. Some readers may find this one offensive. 3 stars
6 – Sinful Deeds by Samantha Holt - I am a big fan of Samantha Holt. This story of a lord who falls in love with his widowed mistress enthralled me from the start. There are some descriptive intimacies in this story. 5 star read
7 – Scottish Governess by Arietta Richmond – Not my first Arietta Richmond read and like the others you will find likable characters and some mild intimacies. 4.75 stars
8 – The Duke's House Party by Kelly Anne Bruce – I know who this author is but had not read her work before. The story was a little bit slow paced but the sweet/clean romance and likable characters were a bonus. ; 4.25 stars
9 – To Capture Love by Shereen Vedam - New to me author; This story is of a sweet/clean nature. ; 4 stars

I gave this collection an overall rating of 4.25 stars. Most are sweet/clean titles or mildly sensual.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

For this Anthology, I am reviewing SINFUL DEEDS from Samantha Holt. If all of the stories are as delightful as this one, just put up the do not disturb sign and order in pizzas for the week. Your family will survive it.

SINFUL DEEDS is the second book in the Cynfell Brothers series. Though each does stand alone, I would recommend reading in the order of publication. You can expect updates on the previous couples.

Dante Cynfell is the second son in this family. I am reminded that the traditional aristocracy procreated with the motto of “an heir and a spare.” Meaning that each family wanted there to be two boys born, because of the high infant mortality rates of the times.

Born as “the spare,” Dante lacks the seriousness of his brother. He lives a life of privilege with no responsibility. He doesn’t see his responsibility even for his mistress. When Josephine, Jo-Jo, tells him that she wants more or freedom, he really doesn’t understand what more a woman could want.

I loved the banter between these two. I also loved the growth they each experienced. It’s obvious from page one that they love each other, but they are both strong enough to ask for what they want and fight for what they need. I thought this was a great story and extremely well written. This was not the usual boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy fights for girl. Instead we start at boy loses girl and they both make the fight worthwhile. I cheered when he inevitably re-won the heart of the girl without making her lose herself in the process.

As stated in my review for SINFUL CONFESSIONS, the chores are often ignored when a truly good read is available – still guilty. I began this one as soon as I finished Sinful Confessions and now, sadly, I’m done. I guess it’s time to get back to work… but rest assured, I have one eye on my kindle account to see when the next book in this series will be released.

Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC via Booksprout, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

3 1/2 Stars! Novella length historical romance stories by multiple authors. Complete stand-alone stories with HEA!
Her Gentleman Pirate – Tamara Gill – I liked this witty story about Arabella being kidnapped by Stephen because of a debt owed by her father. Just a little steamy, I loved Arabella’s feistiness!
A Reversal of Fortune – Rose Pearson – Rags to riches story with no steam at all. I liked that even thought Penelope grew up an orphan with abuse she was never bitter or unkind.
Prince of Rogues – Angelique Armae – Story takes place in a fictional kingdom. Very little steam. Strong and fearless Kitty won’t marry her prince until her brother’s killer is caught.
A Marquess for Convenience – Bianca Blythe – This story is a second chance romance with no steam. A miscommunication / misunderstanding has kept apart Arthur and Madeline for the last seven years. I liked that after all that time they still had feelings for each other and stepped up to help the other.
Acts of Pardon – Sandra Sookoo – A pirate story with lots of action and steam! Adrian and Sarah come from two different worlds, but they discover they don’t have to agree on everything. I liked that they worked things out between them without separation or angst/drama!
Sinful Deeds – Samantha Holt – Josephine has been Dante’s mistress for four years, but she ends things between them. After eight months apart they have a second chance at having it all. Very little steam!
The Scottish Governess – Arietta Richmond – Perry and Constance both widowed find comfort in one another, but she is far below his station. Very little steam. I liked that Constance was intelligent and witty.
The Duke’s House Party Match – Kelly Anne Bruce – Sweet and clean with no steam. Edward and Sarah meet at a house party and have a lot in common, but is he already betrothed.
To Capture Love – Shereen Vedam – Super short story with no steam. Robert wounded in war and grieving his brother’s death. Pauline a sculptor has loved him from afar for years. Will he finally notice her as she works on his brothers memorial?

This is nice collection of stories by nine very talented writers. There is something here for everyone who enjoys well-written and entertaining historical romance.

Her Gentleman Pirate by Tamara Gill
Stephen is a smuggler turned pirate who has kidnapped Arabella Hester, whose father has reneged on a debt. The kidnapping doesn’t go exactly as planned. Stephen and Arabella are great together and good for each other, but they are not meant to be together. This story of a determined hero and a sassy heroine is full of fun. There is also some drama and surprises; one of which is the villain.

Sinful Deeds by Samantha Holt
Josephine has been Dante’s mistress for four years. He has been faithful to her for their time together, but he cannot seem to abandon his other bachelor habits. She wants more than he can give her; she would like to be his wife. Hurt and discouraged, she leaves him to pursue a career as an artist (she is very talented). The separation is difficult of both of them. Dante looks for any way he can to convince her to come back to him. Will he find that way, and if he does, will he take it? Sinful Deeds is an emotional story with great characters.

I am a sucker for a collection of Regency romance! Even if I don't like every book in a set, I will usually like enough of the books to make it worth my while. This book had the standard dukes and marquesses along with a couple of pirates and a prince of a made-up realm that existed in the channel between real Regency England and France. Some of these books don't appear to be available singly. I'll admit I wasn't too wild about the pirate stories (because pirate romance is not really my thing), although the authors still did a good job writing them. I thought, too, that some of the heroes were more rakes than rogues... and I prefer my Regency rogues to be just a little naughty, but not too much. Still, I found the books in this collection to be enjoyable, steamy reads.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

This collection of Regency romances was varied in the tone and type of stories told. Some of the stories were better than others, some spent too much time unnecessarily describing sexual encounters, while other stories were sweet and clean. I liked the last two stories the best, which were both sweet and clean. In the Duke’s House Party Match, Sarah is the daughter of tradesman at a house party who has captured the attention of a visiting Duke, Edward. But the daughter of the house, her mother, and his mother want him to marry her and will stop at nothing to keep Sarah and Edward apart. In To Capture Love, Pauline is a stone sculptor using a male alias for her work and she has been hired to commission a memorial for the brother of an earl who died in the war. I thought it was interesting that she had such a physical profession and was able to keep it hidden.

Nine novella length romances from some outstanding authors. I usually start these collections by reading my favourite authors first and then go on to the remaining stories. In this collection I have started with Arietta Richmond’s story: The Scottish Governess.
Here is my honest review.
Such a heart-warming romance, to keep you smiling as you read. I really enjoyed Peregrine and Constance’s individual journeys of discovery, and loved the way this author entertained us with the characters’ own thought processes along the way. I could have shaken Perry’s daughters in the beginning but am happy with how they all turn out in the end. Marvellous descriptions of the ton also help to make this a book not to be missed. I highly recommend this story.

This is a collection of nine historical romances by various authors. All of the stories were captivating and entertaining. The characters sprang off the pages and made it hard to put the books down.
I was tasked with reviewing Sinful Deeds by Samantha Holt. This is another great story by Ms. Holt. She never fails to deliver a wonderful read. The story was poignant and realistic, with two engaging characters who clearly loved each other, but had to find a way to be together. The chemistry between the hero and heroine was obvious and heartfelt. And the banter between them was entertaining and enjoyable. A fantastic read and a great addition to a wonderful collection.

This is a very enjoyable collection of short, historical reads. There is a lot of variety here, from an array of authors, different themes and vaeious heat levels. I think that there is something here for just about any romance fanatic. I particularly liked Tamara Gill's, Her Gentleman Pirate. The story line was fun, the characters likable and the chemistry smoky. The addition of some excitement, drama and emotions makes a romance that will easily sweep you up into it. This is my independent and impartial review.

Excellent box set. Each story in it is an amazing read you won't want to end. There is excitement, emotional situations, suspense and so much more. Not only are the main characters great so are the supporting characters. And the stories are awesome. Definitely ones I will be reading again. The men are alpha males who know what and how they want things. The women are beautiful with minds of their own. These matches cause hot and steamy scenes, deep love and so much more. I highly recommend it. I received a review copy by booksprout and voluntarily review it.

This is a collection of ten books – each with a different author.
I have read several of these and enjoyed them. Some are steamy and some are clean.
Being written by different authors, each have a different style of writing with different themes etc.
This is a bargain for all these books at a small price. It gives the chance to read authors that you may not have previously read.
Good value.
