Sebastian Frost was a man with an interesting reputation. He’d killed twelve giants, eight heroes, a duke, and even a prince.
But nobody ever talked about any of that.
All they talked about was the deviant, disgusting, detestable, Herald of Shalia that shamelessly laid with elves. That was because in the strange world based on game mechanics Frost found himself in, laying with elves was somehow treated like laying with animals.
Naturally, they weren’t calling him Herald Frost the giant killer.
Despite his less than dignified reputation, Frost was set to marry Princess Brynn Hilde Leaucault of the neighboring country of Zira. If everything went well, the marriage would earn him an amazingly talented wife and hopefully improve his rocky relationship with the powerful country.
Although Zira wasn’t the only country he had to worry about.
King Darius Asmund of Rilia requested an audience with Frost and since the man commanded one of the largest armies on the continent, he was inclined to take the meeting. Even if the brutal warlord had a reputation for killing heralds.
Frost just wished he knew why the herald killing king was so interested in his own lascivious reputation.
Herald of Shalia is a fun fantasy Light LitRPG/Gamelit by Tamryn Tamer and contains attention starved elves, demonic princesses, foul language, twosomes threesomes and foursomes, and completely over the top love making. You've been warned.
Tamryn Tamer is known for tawdry fantasy stories focused around filthy elves, fairies, demons, and really any other mythical creature.
She's a discovery writer whose work focuses on following a character as they explore a new and interesting world and meet new and interesting people...and most likely have sex with them.
Currently focused on Forbidden Arcana. The series follows the mage Jericho as he gathers familiars and unlocks new magic to become the most powerful spellcaster in the VRMMO Forbidden Arcana.
"First, let’s state the obvious. Tamryn Tamer is a pen name. We actually had a few pen names thought up that we still may use in the future. But for now, it’s all about Tamryn. We’re a two person team who does all of their own writing, editing, marketing, cover design, research, formatting, etc. All while working full time and raising kids.
So, what do we write? We write playful over the top GameLIt/LitRPG stories full of memorable characters and graphic sex.
Why graphic sex? We could write some artistic tripe about how it’s necessary but in reality we just like it. It’s fun. It makes us laugh and smile. It makes us fall in love with the characters a bit more and makes them feel more alive. And sometimes you just want to see characters fuck.
But the fisting! The double fisting! The ungodly amounts of bodily fluid! The sheer impossibility of it all! Why that? For the same reason we have magic, dragons, and monsters! It’s fantasy!
Just read our work and decide. We like to chase smiles. That means we like our work to be funny, cool, happy, and memorable. And we just hope you enjoy it .
Thank you so much for reading and let’s have some fun!"
Herald of Shalia 2 (Herald of Shalia #2) continues the adventures of Herald Frost, his many elf and demi-human lovers, his human fiancee Brynn and many other old and new characters (and I do mean CHARACTERS!) trying to kill or sleep with the followers of Shalia.
Hilariously foul-mouthed Baron Slade plays a greater role in this book, and the scenes with Slade and Hestia were some of the best scenes yet! The human royals are mortified when Frost and Brynn’s entire wedding party leave right after the ceremony to watch, and participate in, the consummation!
The day after the wedding, soldiers arrive to deliver a message from King Ozman. They reluctantly agree to wait for several hours, because Frost, his new wife, and I forget how many elves are still enjoying the marriage consummation!
There’s more political intrigue, murders, kidnappings and a suicide.
Frost returns at last to find the entire village topless; the playful elves mounted a rebellion when Lady grey tried to get them to dress and act like ladies, so they stripped and started cursing like soldiers! Chants of “marry one of us” quickly turn to “marry all of us”!
Brynn brings out one of the pheromone-laced bottles of perfume, and Reena lunges for it, spilling half the contents on the high priestess, rubbing lots on herself, and new bride demon Desdamona rubs lots on herself. Just as you think Frost and the women can’t have a more active and creative sex life…wow!
The book ends on a high note as during the orgy, Reena slips and lets Frost know of the other “elf fucker” in the village. Brynn sighs and says “Oh, goddess. I love this village so much”; I know just how she feels! I must’ve listened to the hilarious scene with Frost, the “ethically challenged” fertility potion maker elf and the other EF ten times it was so damned funny.
I highly recommend Herald of Shalia 2 with 5*, and I’m eagerly awaiting Book 3 being released as an audiobook!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
A good erotic series. Part of me is surprised that this was written by a female author and another part of me thinks that only a female author could get away with how far the sex goes.
Outstanding A little cartooner, and a fair bit smuttier than book one. Also the MC seems more callous toward the women who love him, but... Still a damn good harem book.
Honestly, I can't say enough good things about this book. I absolutely loved it and even though it just released, I'm eagerly awaiting more Herald of Shalia books! Within trading the first 4 chapters on Kindle unlimited, I knew I wanted to buy it.
This books picks up right where the first book left off. It's really a steamy romance novel with an engaging plot and some adventure thrown into the mix. (In comparison, I would say the first book is adventure prefaced by and followed with romance.)
Anyone who has read the first book will know that the romance involves sex with multiple characters. The romance was well done in the sense that there's conflict between the parties and even an element of competition between the harem members. The sex scenes were also well written and are quite steamy (in the best possible way!
One thing that I think sets this book apart is that the sex isn't strictly confined to the main character and his harem. At least one other relationship between other characters gets a decent bit of attention as well. There's also a good bit of character development and we learn more about some of the characters introduced in the first book.
The first book had a number of spelling/grammar errors in it. It didn't bother me because the story was that good. This book has a lot less of these errors. Sure, it may not be perfect but if you like steamy romance with a bit of litrpg and a bit of adventure thrown in, you can't go wrong with this book.
That said, you'd almost have to have read the first book to fully appreciate the second one. You could probably follow the plot of the second book, but you wouldn't fully appreciate the banter between characters and the depth of their relationships.
Sebastian sets out after his wedding is interrupted. A nearby warlord has summoned him. Politics and a sneaky gift play a role in expanding the territory he controls. I look forward to the next book.
Another flawed-but-fun book. Cleverly written as always, I quite enjoy the reparte/slagging between the elves, but it takes up a bit more of the text than it really deserves.
The first book suffered from a superfluous last 1/3 or so, as the end was just sex scenes with no contribution to the story. Pacing in this one is much better, as the plot/story moves steadily throughout. Not for the prudish (even I skim most of the sexytimes, 'cause there's a LOT of them) but if you like the author's work in general and the first "Herald" book in particular, you'll like this.
An improvement (imo) from the first book, and I look forward to the next.
The previous book was good because there was a decent mix between erotica and LitRPG, but this one was just sex all the time with a bit of politics. It got tiresome after a time.
Also, it gets annoying when every MC in every book doesn't want to have kids just because authors are too lazy to write them into the story and just go around that problem with a lame excuse. Most people want to have kids, the amount of MCs that don't is stupid.
I love this series. Slade (not sure how it is spelled I've only listened to the audiobook) and interactions with the MC are hilarious to me. If you enjoyed the first this one should be excellent.
Overall, this was very similar to the first novel in terms of quality. If you liked the first, you'll probably like the second.
Personally, I could've done without giving the Slade character more screentime. It also doesn't help that I simply don't like Slade much. He is constantly cramming as many swears per sentence as he can, which is definitely trying to be funny, but it just makes him look like an insufferably edgy teenager. It's grating.
There's still a fair amount of grammatical and spelling errors. Definitely could use an editing pass, but I know that's hard to come by when you're self-publishing.
I can’t stop laughing, first off… Slade is a gem…. Commander grey is also hilarious but Slade, slade, slade is the man 🤣😂. He seriously puts me to tears. The other knights are pretty funny as well. Hestia is a gold mine as well. So many brilliant characters.. Renna is funny 75% of the time and the other 25 she can get under one’s skin. Sometimes I want to tell her to hush up because she acts like a brat. Ena really did shine in this book 😏🤭. To be honest, there isn’t a character I don’t like. The Arachne see, very interesting! I knew that cloak was special 😁. Shalia is like that annoying deity from typical isekai anime that doesn’t help you out and keeps everything from you knowing it could totally provide you with the information you need. The true solid gold is frost and slades relationship. The constant banter and ribbing between the two has me laughing out loud… I know that sounds like a figure of speech but no, I literally laugh out loud at 3am as I’m reading, or I look crazy while sitting in a doctors waiting room and I’m trying to contain myself but it’s impossible. Tamryn are truly skilled authors. I cannot wait for the next book which is about to start now! Onward lads!
Author concentrates second volume on increasing the wives, making most of the harem completely depraved and deranged and sex. So much so, that a psychiatrist-psychologist team need to urgently travel to another world and treat all of the elven women, but especially the main character, Herald Frost. Frost marries 2 princesses and a queen, but becomes engaged with almost all of the village's women. Village size grows, includes new human villages and possibly a future port. No governance, no village building, mostly just sex and more sex. Yes! I believe author has run out of ideas and since it's just a fantasy novel series, about sex, well, I believe it's time to change the channel. Main character has sex with any woman with a heartbeat and not necessarily humanoid either. This second volume has over 500+ pages and 27 chapters.
I was introduced to this series by someone posting a quote from Baron Slade. This series is seen as a comedy novel to me. Anytime Slade opens his mouth, it always gets a smile from me.
This didn't go how I expected it to. From the last book's ending, I thought our protagonist would have been focused on the development of his village. But all that happened in this book was the protagonist sampling as many women as possible.
It did end up being funny, so I will read the sequel.
Seriously reading this book went way too fast! I got Kindle unlimited just to read the e-book and I definitely will buy the audio book when it is released because I love the narration of the first book so much. Slade happens to be one of my favorite characters. I find it amusing that frost can never remember talking to the goddess! Will the territory of Pluma get even larger? I am off to find out in the third book of the Herald Of Shalia series.
So the rating I couldn't give on the first book cause of editing issues I can give here. There were still shaky spots, a spot where group hugging was apparently implied and was a touch confusing, but overall much better. Smut was good, active, some new stuff, not all I particularly enjoy, but I appreciate mixing things up. If you liked the first, you should enjoy this one. I'll read the next.
This is another fun romp with Herald Frost and the rest of his (ever growing) gang of consorts and friends. Sebastian Frost does not give a ... (<- this, thanks to Amazon's ridiculous list of banned words) about anything but his friends and he is willing to be friends with anybody or practically anything. I think that's as good a philosophy of life as you can ask for today.
The Herald makes a deal, and in doing so he gains a wife, who just happens to be a demon. Normally, you’d think this means that there is going to be dark moments and a lot of bdsm on the way. Or…not.
A shy demon is not what I was expecting, but was still happy to find. Solid second in the series.
I really have no idea where this series is going but it’s damn entertaining anyway. This volume mostly consisted of some weddings, some traveling, and a lot of sex. Shalia and her followers are starting to really give off some Aqua and Axis Order vibes so I am almost ready to classify this series as a comedy. Hopefully, next volume gives the plot more direction.
What do you do when you are volunteered for a job you don't want? You follow your convictions and remember all humans are treacherous. The elves however are a lot of fun. NOT FOR CHILDREN.
Not bad. Better pacing than book 1 and not as quite over the top. Could still be less orgies and more relationships building. Definitly more skill leveling, it a fun new system, but nothing happened with it.
Somehow there was actual plot and development somewhere in all the adult escapades. I think, I might need to read it again since the overall impression was erotic enough to step the paint from my imagination. As Austin Powers said. Grr baby!
Slade really stole the show in this book, his Hestia sex scene was hilarious and the best i've heard in a while. The rest of the story was run of the mill. Although MC finally hooked up with Eina, so that was nice.
Another thrilling story with a lot of heat. Frost definitely knows how to get himself in trouble. Trouble of various types especially with elves or just about any woman.
