What do you do next when your home is ambushed, leaving one for dead? Survive. That’s all that is on their minds now. And if you’re sick… and there is no doctor? Struggle. In search of a new place to live—while on the run from the Omen gang—Tonya nearly succumbs to her illness when they stumble across a strange and unreliable man on the road. This stranger knows of a community with a working hospital, and an apothecary that relies heavily upon holistic medicines. Tonya remains skeptical, but Darrick optimistically pushes the group forward in a relentless search to find someone who can help her. But, not everything is as it seems.

I have been looking forward to this book. I am not disappointed. It was great. As I read this book, I realize that it really isn't the invaders who destroy our country. We can do it on our own. We are our own worse enemy. But....when we work together, we kick butt!
The beginning of the book has a warning. The author isn't a snowflake. No he isn't.
Scary good! The rose colored glasses are nowhere to be seen! Loved it! Sick characters we know are walking around society as we speak! Welcome to post apocalyptic reality. Douglas Hogan always rocks it!
This picks up smoothly where Homestead ended. It is so imaginable that it will leave you wide awake unable to sleep for fear of what could be. A must read!
