All actions have consequences...

Finding Megan alive and in a place of relative safety is a major turning point in Eric Branson's quest. But even though he's reached his main objective, Eric's mission is far from over.

Eric made a hard choice when he left Shauna and Jonathan behind to catch up to Megan, and he knew when he did it there would be consequences.

Determined to set things right and move on to the next stage of his plan, Eric will retrace his route into the wilderness, but this time he won't be riding alone.

Insurgents connected with the organization Eric encountered before are bent on controlling a vital corridor between their mountain strongholds to the north and Mexican border, and Eric's new-found warrior friends are determined to stop them in order to protect their homeland.

Once again, Eric will use his skill and expertise to fight for others, but it's a necessary step in attaining his ultimate goal.

Scott B. Williams has been writing about his adventures for more than twenty-five years. His published work includes dozens of magazine articles and twenty-five books, with more projects currently underway.

His interest in backpacking, sea kayaking and sailing small boats to remote places led him to pursue the wilderness survival skills that he has written about in his popular survival nonfiction books and travel narratives such as On Island Time: Kayaking the Caribbean, an account of a two-year solo kayaking expedition he undertook at age 25.

With the release of The Pulse: A Novel of Surviving the Collapse of the Grid in 2012, Scott moved into writing fiction full time. His post-apocalyptic and action & adventure stories draw heavily on his personal wilderness and ocean experiences to create believable scenarios often set in dire circumstances. The crew is closer to their reunion. Megan and Aaron are waiting for the rest to be reunited.

Bandits have taken control of many remote locations, and the fight for survival brings out the ugliness of people.

I’ve read the entire series thus far, and.....

I’ve read the entire series, up until book 6 at this time (we’re ready for #7, Mr. Williams!! ;) — and this is a “for sure read” within the apocalyptic genre.
At first, I shied away due to the shorter page length of each book. I tend to enjoy really long books, which creates a seemingly never ending feeling to a series. But everything that’s in a longer series is right here. Without a thing left out.
This story is extremely creative. And the characters are wonderfully unique and well crafted. The beginning is great - but I’ll tell you, you don’t realize at the start what an exciting journey you’re about to embark upon. Rather quickly, however, you feel as if you’re partnered with the main character as the story weaves its way across all 6 novels, laser focusing on one edge of your seat & puzzle of a “mission” after another.
The character development is just what you want it to be. And the relationships between the characters are presented in such a way that I honestly haven’t experienced in a series in a long time. It’s completely— authentic. Deep. The dialogue has a natural flow and quality which supports that relational authenticity.
The story is suspenseful. Rousing. Engrossing. It’s about family bonds. Heritage. Crisscrosses your emotions. It’s epic. It’s ever so slightly romantic (I mean, people do love one another, right?). There are villains. And heroes. Of course, weapons. It’s about truly roughing it survival; in the wild, vs. urban in this story. And horses, lotsss of horses.....
Basically - this series is a lot of fun to read!
I cannot wait for book 7’s arrival. Brava, Mr. Williams! And thank you for an awesome week of reading. (And lost sleep, I definitely saw a couple of sunrises!)

What goes around comes around.

Scott Williams continues the story of finding loved ones and then circumstances demands that they have to split up again.
The accounts of the story then requires that they find them again.
