Lauren Pauling and Michael Tallon are part of the "Jack Reacher Universe" because they were supporting characters in some of the Jack Reacher books written by Lee Child. In this set of books, author Dan Ames has taken two of those characters from Child's books and expanded their stories to give them a life of their own.
Contents: Book Seven: A MAN BEYOND THE LAW: When former FBI Agent Lauren Pauling receives a mysterious file from Jack Reacher, she quickly begins to investigate. However, the case takes an unexpected turn when the sender of the file suddenly disappears. Pauling realizes this case is far from cold, and soon, the action heats up.
Book Eight: THE MAN WHO WALKS AWAY: In the remote landscape near Death Valley, a group of special ops soldiers has gone rogue. As the army desperately tries to stop the senseless killings, Michael Tallon and Lauren Pauling find themselves the target of not only the deranged murderers, but the local sheriff, too. When the pace of the killing intensifies, the stakes get higher for Pauling and Tallon, leading to an unforgettable twist.
Book Nine: THE MAN WHO STRIKES FEAR: When an FBI agent is violently murdered in his home, the killers leave a message, "For Reacher". Lauren Pauling, who knew the murdered man, investigates the killing and soon uncovers a shocking link to her past. She also learns that the killers...have only just begun. .

Finally up to date on this great Reacher related series. Now I can only wait until Dan Ames writes the next book. I really like this series and it's characters. I stumbled upon this author by chance and eveything I have read so far is great. Look into it. He has a little of everything in his library.
These are good thrillers and for those of you complaining about being misled by the Jack Reacher hook- just relax and read the series with an open mind, enjoying the stories for what they are: good solid thrillers with solid engaging characters who just aren’t Reacher but work well at what they do. Try it, start at book 1though.
What a load of rubbish from more dead Reacher lookalikes than Elvis impersonators to a couple of random hit men in one of the books turning up to kill Tallon in a wholly unrelated episode with nothing to do with the plot
